ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT : The Department of Electronics & Communication En-gineering, since its inception, has been under dynamic pro-gress and is able to establish the reputation for imparting quality education both in undergraduate and post gradu-ate programmes. Keeping in a view of the technological advancement, the department is fortified by the most qualified and experienced faculty. It has current intake of 240 UG students, 36 PG students for the specializations Digital Electronics & Communication Systems and Micro & Nano Electronics. The department is Accredited by NBA. It is well equipped with modern laboratories such as Digital Signal Processing, IC applications, Analog & Digital Commu-nication, ECAD & Simulation, Microprocessors & Microcon-trollers, Microwave and Optical Communications, Analog & Digital Electronics and R & D labs. Our students pursue live projects in various latest fields of technology like Embed-ded Systems, VLSI, DSP, Image Processing, Robotics etc., within the campus.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP : A National Level Workshop Embedded Systems is be-ing organized by the department of ECE under TEQIP-II and MITSECA (MITS Electronics & Communication Association) on 18th& 19th July, 2014. This workshop is intended to pro-vide opportunities for participants to gain knowledge and experience on design and implementation of ARM based embedded systems and various real-time operating sys-tems. It also makes the participants to keep abreast of the current developments in Embedded Systems.

About ARM & RTOS : ARM is a 32 bit RISC processor family and is an up-ward compatible range of energy efficient, low cost, better code density and easy to use processor designed to help the developers in order to meet the needs of tomorrow’s embedded applications. ARM supports wide variety of re-al-time operating systems for efficient task scheduling. WinCE, RTLinux, Embedded Linux, µC/OS-II, Nutino, QNX, Vxworks etc are the real-time operating systems supported by ARM.

RESOURCE PERSONS : Mr. Rajesh Manikantan He is Corporate relations head from SEMICHIP solu-tions. He has worked for companies like Robert Bosch, IBM etc. He has conducted several training workshops, courses for corporate training.

Mr. T Venkata Narayana He is currently working as Technical Lead at Aricent Group, Chennai. He is an expert in MPLS-TP and has hands on experience in microcode. He has more than 9 years of experience in software development & testing of telecom and embedded systems.
