Escape stairs for the defence and construction industry

Spiral UK have over thirty years’ experience of working with the building industry to deliver safe, practical, cost effective external staircases for projects in defence and construction.

Our in house design, manufacture and install process ensures we deliver and fit durable staircases that suit their environment, are economical and meet regulatory requirements.

We are able to manufacture any type and size of staircases including industrial general access, helical and spiral fire escape stairs.

Our skilled team of designers, engineers and installers are experienced in producing and delivering robust designs that are compliant with British Standard BS 5395.

We are CHAS, SMAS and Achilles accredited and hold ISO 9001:2015.

Our escape stairs are generally a mild steel structure with a galvanised finish but we can work with you to meet most material requirements including tread, handrail and finish options.

Materials and finishes

We take staircase design ideas, concepts and sketches and develop them into detailed 3D models and renders to support the construction drawings. This means everyone in the project team has a clear understanding of what is required to ensure the design and build process runs smoothly.

At Spiral UK our ethos is to manufacture staircases in-house to ensure that the quality we pride ourselves on is maintained. We employ a team of highly skilled fabricators to ensure our high standards are met, on time and to budget.

Installation/03 We employ all our hardworking installation teams directly. They have all had extensive training and hold qualifications in site health and safety. They are able to work out of hours and are used to liaising with site staff to ensure that your needs are met.

Managing projects

We work closely with you to ensure that projects run smoothly and the expectations of your clients are met. With over thirty years’ experience in the industry we are known for our ability to design and install durable, safe staircases that work practically and meet regulatory requirements.

We are happy to liaise with architects, developers and site managers to ensure that as the development evolves the staircase design and installation will work. We can talk through designs, visit site and discuss approaches to ensuring an effective end product.

As part of our service we can:

– Undertake site surveys and visits

– Produce pre-install plans

– Provide 3D drawings and calculations

– Meet demanding schedules and deadlines

– Ensure compliance with relevant British Standards, loadings and Building Regulations
