1. SAFETY INFORMATIONBefore the installation and use of the appliance, carefullyread the supplied instructions. The manufacturer is notresponsible for any injuries or damage that are the resultof incorrect installation or usage. Always keep theinstructions in a safe and accessible location for futurereference.

1.1 Children and vulnerable people safety• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8

years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Children between 3 and 8 years of age and personswith very extensive and complex disabilities shall bekept away from the appliance unless continuouslysupervised.

• Children of less than 3 years of age should be keptaway from the appliance unless continuouslysupervised.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Keep detergents away from children.• Keep children and pets away from the appliance when

the door is open.• Children shall not carry out cleaning and user

maintenance of the appliance without supervision.

1.2 General Safety• This appliance is intended to be used in household

and similar applications such as:– farm houses; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices

and other working environments;– by clients in hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and

other residential type environments.• Do not change the specification of this appliance.

• The operating water pressure (minimum andmaximum) must be between 0.5 (0.05) / 8 (0.8) bar(MPa)

• Follow the maximum number of 13 place settings.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by

the manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• Put the cutlery in the cutlery basket with the sharpends pointing down or put them in the cutlery drawerin a horizontal position with the sharp edges down.

• Do not leave the appliance with the open doorunattended to avoid stepping accidentally onto it.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.

• Do not use high pressure water sprays and/or steamto clean the appliance.

• If the appliance has ventilation openings in the base,they must not be covered e.g. by a carpet.

• The appliance is to be connected to the water mainsusing the new supplied hose-sets. Old hose sets mustnot be reused.

2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS2.1 Installation

WARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.

• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Follow the installation instructions

supplied with the appliance.• Always take care when moving the

appliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature is less than 0°C.

• Install the appliance in a safe andsuitable place that meets installationrequirements.

2.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the parameters on the

rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable need tobe replaced, this must be carried outby our Authorised Service Centre.

• Connect the mains plug to the mainssocket only at the end of theinstallation. Make sure that there isaccess to the mains plug after theinstallation.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• This appliance is fitted with a 13 Amains plug. If it is necessary tochange the mains plug fuse, use onlya 13 A ASTA (BS 1362) fuse (UK andIreland only).

2.3 Water connection• Do not cause damage to the water

hoses.• Before connection to new pipes, pipes

not used for a long time, where repairwork has been carried out or newdevices fitted (water meters, etc.), letthe water flow until it is clean andclear.

• Ensure that there are no visible waterleaks during and after the first use ofthe appliance.

• The water inlet hose has a safetyvalve and a sheath with an innermains cable.

WARNING!Dangerous voltage.

• If the water inlet hose is damaged,immediately close the water tap anddisconnect the mains plug from themains socket. Contact the AuthorisedService Centre to replace the waterinlet hose.

2.4 Use• Do not put flammable products or

items that are wet with flammableproducts in, near or on the appliance.

• Dishwasher detergents aredangerous. Follow the safetyinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

• Do not drink and play with the water inthe appliance.

• Do not remove the dishes from theappliance until the programme iscomplete. Some detergent mayremain on the dishes.

• Do not sit or stand on the open doorof the appliance.

• The appliance can release hot steamif you open the door while aprogramme operates.

2.5 Internal lightingWARNING!Risk of injury.

• This appliance has an internal lampthat comes on when you open thedoor and goes off when the door isclosed.

• The type of lamp used for thisappliance is for household appliancesonly. Do not use it for house lighting.

• To replace the internal lighting,contact the Authorised ServiceCentre.

2.6 Service• To repair the appliance contact the

Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.

2.7 DisposalWARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains supply.

• Cut off the mains cable and discard it.• Remove the door catch to prevent

children and pets to get closed in theappliance.

4.1 Indicators

Indicator DescriptionSalt indicator. It is on when the salt container needs refilling.

Rinse aid indicator. It is on when the rinse aid dispenser needs refill‐ing.

5. PROGRAMMESThe numbering of the programmes in thetable (P1, P2, etc.) reflects theirsequence on the control panel.

The order of the programmes in the tablemay not reflect their sequence on thecontrol panel.

1) This programme offers the most efficient use of water and energy consumption for crock‐ery and cutlery with normal soil. This is the standard programme for test institutes.2) The appliance senses the degree of soil and the quantity of items in the baskets. It auto‐matically adjusts the temperature and quantity of water as well as the wash duration.3) This programme is suitable for washing a load with mixed soil. Place items with heavysoil in the lower basket and with normal soil in the upper basket. The pressure and tempera‐ture of the water in the lower basket are higher than in the upper basket.4) This programme is designed to wash heavily soiled items with high water pressure and ata high temperature.5) This programme controls the temperature of the water to provide special care for delicateitems, glassware in particular.6) This programme is suitable for washing a load or a half load with fresh or light soil in ashort time.7) With this programme, you can quickly rinse off food remains from the dishes and preventodours forming in the appliance. Do not use detergent with this programme.

6. SETTINGS6.1 Programme selection modeand user modeWhen the appliance is in programmeselection mode it is possible to set aprogramme and to enter user mode.Settings available in the user mode:• The level of water softener according

to the water hardness.• Activation or deactivation of the rinse

aid empty notification.• The level of rinse aid according to the

required dosage.• Activation or deactivation of the

acoustic signal for the end of aprogramme.

• Activation or deactivation of theTimeBeam.

• Activation or deactivation of theAirDry.

As the appliance stores the savedsettings, there is no need to configureit before every cycle.

How to set the programmeselection modeThe appliance is in programme selectionmode when the display shows theprogramme number P1.

After activation, the appliance is inprogramme selection mode by default. Ifnot, set the programme selection modethe following way:

Press and hold simultaneously and until the appliance is in programme

selection mode.

How to enter user modeMake sure the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.To enter user mode, press and holdsimultaneously and until theindicators , , , , and flash and the display is blank.

6.2 The water softenerThe water softener removes mineralsfrom the water supply, which would have

a negative effect on the washing resultsand on the appliance.The higher the content of these minerals,the harder your water is. Water hardnessis measured in equivalent scales.The water softener should be adjustedaccording to the hardness of the water inyour area. Your local water authority canadvise you on the hardness of the waterin your area. It is important to set theright level of the water softener to assuregood washing results.

Softening hard waterincreases the consumptionof water and energy as wellas the programme duration.The higher the level of watersoftener, the higher theconsumption and the longerthe duration.

How to set the water softenerlevelMake sure the appliance is un usermode.

setting.3. Press the on/off button to confirm the

setting.

6.3 The rinse aid emptynotificationThe rinse aid helps to dry the disheswithout streaks and stains. It isautomatically released during the hotrinse phase.When the rinse aid chamber is empty,the rinse aid indicator is turned onnotifying to refill rinse aid. If the dryingresults are satisfactory while using multi-tablets only, it is possible to deactivatethe notification for refilling rinse aid.However, for best drying performance,always use rinse aid.If standard detergent or multi-tabletswithout rinse aid are used, activate thenotification to keep the rinse aid refillindicator active.

6.4 The rinse aid levelIt is possible to set the released quantityof rinse aid between level 1 (minimumquantity) and level 6 (maximum quantity).Level 0 deactivates the rinse aiddispenser and no rinse aid is released.Factory setting: level 4.

6.5 Acoustic signalsAcoustic signals sound when amalfunction of the appliance occurs. It isnot possible to deactivate these acousticsignals.There is also an acoustic signal thatsounds when the programme iscompleted. By default this acoustic signalis deactivated but it is possible toactivate it.

How to activate the acousticsignal for the end ofprogrammeMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

6.7 AirDryAirDry improves the drying results withless energy consumption.

During the drying phase, thedoor opens automaticallyand remains ajar.

CAUTION!Do not try to close theappliance door within 2minutes after automaticopening. This can causedamage to the appliance.If, afterwards, the door isclosed for another 3minutes, the runningprogramme ends.

AirDry is automatically activated with allprogrammes excluding Rinse & Hold (ifapplicable).To improve the drying performance referto the XtraDry option or activate AirDry.

CAUTION!If children have access tothe appliance, it is advised todeactivate AirDry as openingthe door may pose a danger.

How to deactivate AirDryMake sure the appliance is in user mode.

6.8 MyFavouriteThis option allows to set and save themost frequently used programme.It is possible to save only 1 programme.A new setting cancels the previous one.

How to save the MyFavouriteprogramme1. Set the chosen programme.It is also possible to set applicableoptions together with the programme.

2. Press and hold until the relatedindicator is on.

How to set the MyFavouriteprogrammePress .

• The MyFavourite indicator is on.• The display shows the number

and the duration of theprogramme.

• If options are saved together withthe programme, the indicatorsrelated to the options are on.

7. OPTIONSDesired options must beactivated every time beforeyou start a programme.It is not possible to activateor deactivate options while aprogramme is running.

Not all options arecompatible with each other.If you select non compatibleoptions, the applianceautomatically deactivatesone or more of them. Onlythe indicators of the stillactive options are on.

If an option is not applicableto a programme, the relatedindicator is off or it flashesquickly for a few secondsand then goes out.

Activating options can affectthe water and energyconsumption as well as theprogramme duration.

7.1 XtraDryActivate this option to boost the dryingperformance.XtraDry is a permanent option for allprogrammes other than ECO. It isautomatically activated in next cycles.This configuration can be changed at anytime.

Every time ECO is activated,XtraDry is off and needs tobe chosen manually.

Activating XtraDry deactivatesTimeManager and vice versa.

How to activate XtraDryPress .The related indicator is on.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

7.2 TimeManagerThe TimeManager allows to reduce theduration of a selected programme byapproximately 50%.The washing results are the same aswith the normal programme duration. Thedrying results can decrease.This option increases the pressure andthe temperature of the water. Thewashing and the drying phases areshorter.By default, TimeManager is off, but it ispossible to activate it manually. Thisoption cannot be combined with XtraDry.

How to activate TimeManagerPress .The related indicator is on.The display shows the updatedprogramme duration.

7.3 HygieneThis option provides better hygieneresults by keeping the temperature at 70°C for at least 10 minutes during the lastrinsing phase.

8. BEFORE FIRST USE1. Make sure that the current level of

the water softener agrees with thehardness of the water supply. Ifnot, adjust the level of the watersoftener.

2. Fill the salt container.3. Fill the rinse aid dispenser.4. Open the water tap.5. Start a programme to remove any

processing residuals that can still beinside the appliance. Do not usedetergent and do not put dishes inthe baskets.

After starting the programme, theappliance recharges the resin in thewater softener for up to 5 minutes. Thewashing phase starts only after thisprocedure is complete. The procedure isrepeated periodically.

8.1 The salt containerCAUTION!Use rough salt designed fordishwashers only. Fine saltincreases the risk ofcorrosion.

The salt is used to recharge the resin inthe water softener and to assure goodwashing results in daily use.

How to fill the salt containerMake sure that the ComfortLift basket is empty andlocked in the raised position.

1. Turn the cap of the salt containercounterclockwise and remove it.

2. Put 1 litre of water in the saltcontainer (only for the first time).

3. Fill the salt container with dishwashersalt (until it is full).

4. Carefully shake the funnel by itshandle to get the last granules inside.

5. Remove the salt around the openingof the salt container.

6. Turn the cap of the salt containerclockwise to close the salt container.

CAUTION!Water and salt can come outof the salt container whenyou fill it. After you fill thesalt container, immediatelystart the shortest programmeto prevent corrosion. Do notput dishes in the baskets.

8.2 How to fill the rinse aiddispenser

CAUTION!Only use rinse aid designedspecifically for dishwashers.

1. Open the lid (C).2. Fill the dispenser (B) until the rinse

aid reaches the marking ''MAX''.3. Remove the spilled rinse aid with an

absorbent cloth to prevent excessivefoam formation.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

Fill the rinse aid dispenserwhen the indicator (A) isclear.

9. DAILY USE1. Open the water tap.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance.Make sure that the appliance is inprogramme selection mode.

• If the salt indicator is on, fill thesalt container.

• If the rinse aid indicator is on, fillthe rinse aid dispenser.

3. Load the baskets.4. Add the detergent.5. Set and start a programme suitable

for the type of load and the degree ofsoil.

9.1 Comfort LiftCAUTION!Do not sit on the rack or putexcessive pressure on thelocked basket.

CAUTION!Do not exceed the max loadcapacity of 18 kg.

CAUTION!Make sure that items do notstick out of the basket frameas it can cause damage tothe items and the ComfortLift mechanism.

The Comfort Lift mechanism allows to liftthe lower rack up (to the second racklevel) and put it down to load and unloaddishes easily.To load or unload the lower basket:1. Lift the basket by pulling the rack out

of the dishwasher by the baskethandle. The trigger handle should notbe used.

The basket is automatically locked on theupper level.

2. Carefully place items in the basket orremove them (refer to Basketloading leaflet).

3. Lower the basket by connecting thetrigger handle with the basket frameas shown below. Lift the triggerhandle completely and the baskethandle slightly until the basket isdisengaged on both sides.

Once the basket is unlocked, pushthe rack down. The mechanismreturns to its default position on thelower level.There are two ways of lowering thebasket depending on the loading:• If there is a full load of plates,

slightly push the basket down.• If the basket is empty or half-

loaded, press the basket down.

9.2 Using the detergent

CAUTION!Only use detergentspecifically designed fordishwashers.

1. Press the release button (A) to openthe lid (C).

2. Put the detergent, in powder ortablets, in the compartment (B).

3. If the programme has a prewashphase, put a small quantity ofdetergent on the inner part of theappliance door.

4. Close the lid. Make sure that the lidlocks into position.

9.3 Setting and starting aprogramme

Starting a programme1. Keep the appliance door ajar.2. Press the on/off button to activate the

appliance. Make sure that theappliance is in programme selectionmode.

3. Press repeatedly until the displayshows the number of the chosenprogramme. The display shows theprogramme number forapproximately 3 seconds and thenshows the programme duration.• To select the MyFavourite

programme, press .• The indicators of the options

related to the MyFavouriteprogramme are on.

4. Set the applicable options.5. Close the appliance door to start the

programme.

Starting a programme withdelay start1. Set a programme.2. Press repeatedly until the display

shows the desired delay time (from 1to 24 hours).

The indicator is on.3. Close the appliance door to start the

countdown.During the countdown, it is possible toincrease the delay time but not to changethe programme and options.When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.

Opening the door while theappliance operatesOpening the door while a programme isrunning stops the appliance. It may affectthe energy consumption and theprogramme duration. After closing thedoor, the appliance continues from thepoint of interruption.

If the door is opened formore than 30 secondsduring the drying phase, therunning programme ends. Itdoes not happen if the dooris opened by AirDry function.

Cancelling the delay start whilethe countdown operatesWhen you cancel the delay start youhave to set the programme and optionsagain.

Press and hold simultaneously and until the appliance is in programme

selection mode.

Cancelling the programmePress and hold simultaneously and

until the appliance is in programmeselection mode.

Make sure that there is detergent in thedetergent dispenser before you start anew programme.

End of the programmeWhen the programme is complete, thedisplay shows 0:00.All buttons are inactive except for theon/off button.1. Press the on/off button or wait for the

Auto Off function to automaticallydeactivate the appliance.If you open the door before theactivation of Auto Off, the applianceis automatically deactivated.

2. Close the water tap.

The Auto Off functionThis function decreases energyconsumption by deactivatingautomatically the appliance when it is notoperating.The function comes into operation:• 5 minutes after the completion of the

10. HINTS AND TIPS10.1 GeneralFollow the hints below to ensure optimalcleaning and drying results in daily useand to help you protect the environment.• Remove larger residues of food from

the dishes into the waste bin.• Do not pre-rinse dishes by hand.

When needed, select a programmewith a prewash phase.

• Always use the whole space of thebaskets.

• Make sure that items in the basketsdo not touch or cover each other.Only then can the water completelyreach and wash the dishes.

• You can use dishwasher detergent,rinse aid and salt separately or youcan use the multi-tablets (e.g. ''All in1''). Follow the instructions on thepackaging.

• Select a programme according to thetype of load and the degree of soil.ECO offers the most efficient use ofwater and energy consumption.

10.2 Using salt, rinse aid anddetergent• Only use salt, rinse aid and detergent

for dishwasher. Other products cancause damage to the appliance.

• In areas with hard and very hardwater we recommend to use plaindishwasher detergent (powder, gel,tablets containing no additionalagents), rinse aid and salt separatelyfor optimal cleaning and dryingresults.

• At least once a month run theappliance with the use of appliancecleaner which is particularly suitablefor this purpose.

• Detergent tablets do not fully dissolvewith short programmes. To preventdetergent residues on the tableware,we recommend that you use thetablets with long programmes.

• Do not use more than the correctquantity of detergent. Refer to theinstructions on the detergentpackaging.

10.3 What to do if you want tostop using multi-tabletsBefore you start to use separatelydetergent, salt and rinse aid, completethe following steps:1. Set the highest level of the water

softener.2. Make sure that the salt and rinse aid

containers are full.3. Start the shortest programme with a

rinsing phase. Do not add detergentand do not load the baskets.

4. When the programme is completed,adjust the water softener accordingto the water hardness in your area.

5. Adjust the released quantity of rinseaid.

6. Activate the rinse aid emptynotification.

10.4 Loading the baskets• Use the appliance to wash

dishwasher-safe items only.• Do not wash in the appliance items

made of wood, horn, aluminium,pewter and copper.

• Do not wash in the appliance itemsthat can absorb water (sponges,household cloths).

• Remove large food residues fromdishes.

• Soak cookware with burnt-on foodbefore washing it in the appliance.

• Put hollow items (cups, glasses andpans) with the opening facingdownwards.

• Make sure that glasses do not toucheach other.

• Put light items in the upper basket.Make sure that the items do not movefreely.

• Put cutlery and small items in thecutlery drawer.

• Make sure that the spray arms canmove freely before you start aprogramme.

10.5 Before starting aprogrammeBefore you start the selectedprogramme, make sure that:• The filters are clean and correctly

installed.• The cap of the salt container is tight.• The spray arms are not clogged.• There is enough salt and rinse aid

(unless you use multi-tablets).• The arrangement of the items in the

baskets is correct.• The programme is suitable to the type

of load and the degree of soil.• The correct quantity of detergent is

used.

10.6 Unloading the baskets1. Let the tableware cool down before

you remove it from the appliance. Hotitems can be easily damaged.

2. First remove items from the lowerbasket, then from the upper basket.

After the programme iscompleted, water can stillremain on the insidesurfaces of the appliance.

11. CARE AND CLEANINGWARNING!Before maintenance,deactivate the appliance anddisconnect the mains plugfrom the main socket.

Make sure that the ComfortLift basket is empty andlocked in the raised position.

Dirty filters and cloggedspray arms negatively affectthe washing results. Checkthese elements regularlyand, if necessary, cleanthem.

11.1 Cleaning the filtersThe filter system is made of 3 parts.

1. Turn the filter (B) counterclockwiseand remove it.

2. Remove the filter (C) out of filter (B). 3. Remove the flat filter (A).

4. Wash the filters.

5. Make sure that there are no residuesof food or soil in or around the edgeof the sump.

6. Put back in place the flat filter (A).Make sure that it is correctlypositioned under the 2 guides.

7. Reassemble the filters (B) and (C).8. Put back the filter (B) in the flat filter

(A). Turn it clockwise until it locks.

CAUTION!An incorrect position of thefilters can cause badwashing results and damageto the appliance.

11.2 Cleaning the upper sprayarmWe recommend to clean the upper sprayarm regularly to prevent soil fromclogging the holes.Clogged holes can cause unsatisfactorywashing results.1. Pull out the upper basket.2. To detach the spray arm from the

basket, press the spray arm upwardsand simultaneously turn it clockwise.

3. Wash the spray arm under runningwater. Use a thin pointed tool, e.g. atoothpick, to remove particles of soilfrom the holes.

4. To install the spray arm back, pressthe spray arm upwards andsimultaneously turn itcounterclockwise until it locks intoplace.

11.3 External cleaning• Clean the appliance with a moist soft

cloth.• Only use neutral detergents.• Do not use abrasive products,

abrasive cleaning pads or solvents.

11.4 Internal cleaning• Carefully clean the appliance,

including the rubber gasket of thedoor, with a soft damp cloth.

• To maintain the performance of yourappliance, use a cleaning productdesigned specifically for dishwashersat least once a month. Carefully followthe instructions on the packaging ofthe product.

• Do not use abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, sharp tools,strong chemicals, scourer or solvents.

• Using short-duration programmesregularly can cause grease andlimescale buildup inside theappliance. Run long-durationprogrammes at least twice a month toprevent the buildup.

12. TROUBLESHOOTINGWARNING!Improper repair of theappliance may pose adanger to the safety of theuser. Any repairs must beperformed by qualifiedpersonnel.

The majority of problems that mayoccur can be solved without the need

to contact an Authorised ServiceCentre.Refer to the below table for informationon possible problems.With some problems, the display showsan alarm code.

12.1 The washing and drying results are not satisfactory

• Plastic items may need to be towel dried.• For the best drying performance, activate XtraDry

and AirDry.• We recommend to always use rinse aid, even in

combination with multi-tablets.

There are whitish streaks orbluish layers on glasses anddishes.

• The released quantity of rinse aid is too high. Ad‐just the rinse aid level to a lower level.

• The quantity of detergent is too high.

There are stains and dry wa‐ter drops on glasses anddishes.

• The released quantity of rinse aid is not sufficient.Adjust the rinse aid level to a higher level.

• The quality of the rinse aid can be the cause.

The dishes are wet. • For the best drying performance, activate XtraDryand AirDry .

• This is not a defect of the appliance. Humid air con‐densates on the appliance walls.

Unusual foam during wash‐ing.

• Use the detergent designed specifically for dish‐washers.

• There is a leak in the rinse aid dispenser. Contactan Authorised Service Centre.

Traces of rust on cutlery. • There is too much salt in the water used for wash‐ing. Refer to "The water softener".

• Silver and stainless steel cutlery were placed to‐gether. Avoid putting silver and stainless steelitems close together.
