Description
This course will be a lot of self-motivation. You will spend a good portion of the time working with your classmates in an independent study style setting. I will arrange times for you to come into class to practice conversation and listening skills. We are now in the process to start building upon the foundation that you set the last couple of years.

• 1 – 2” 3 ring binder• 3 – Dividers
– Bell work– Notes– Blank Paper
• Writing Materials– Pens (Black or Blue ink only!) and/or pencils and erasers
• Red ink will not be accepted
– Paper for the binder
• Spanish/English Dictionary (preferably University of Chicago Spanish-English Dictionary Revised 6th Edition; $3.97 @ Walmart). However other Dictionaries will work (Optional)

Table of Contents
Students are expected to bring all of their supplies everyday to class. Being prepared is part of being in class. You will not be allowed to go to your locker within the first ten minutes of class.

Participation
• Students are expected to participate in class. There will be much class discussion and activities completed in class. Every student will participate. Learning a language is not a spectator sport; to learn a language you need to be active, participate and practice.
• All students are expected to follow the Spartan Way by being safe, responsible, respectful, and your best.
• If you have a question about material being covered or aspects being discussed, it is your responsibility to ask!

• Tests and quizzes will be the largest part of your grade. There will be formal, informal and performance based assessments.

Discipline
If you choose not to follow class rules, guidelines, instructions or policies the following steps will be utilized:
• Student receives a warning– After 3 warnings in one class period the student will be asked to leave
the classroom for the rest of the day.
• Private conference with me after class• Phone call or email home to parents• Office referral• In case of a severe disruption the above steps will be skipped and
the student will be sent immediately to the office.If the teacher is not able to identify the student(s) that is/are
responsible for the disruption that group of students or the entire class will receive an alternate assignment or even pop quiz (this does count as advanced warning of the quiz).

3.Remember Spanish is not English.4. Conduct yourself in a manner that no one will question your
character, or actions.5. Only speak positively about the Toronto Blue Jays, St. Louis
Cardinals, Calgary Flames, Canadian National Hockey Teams, BYU Cougars, UVU Wolverines, Missouri State Bears, Calgary Stampeders, Manchester United, FC Barcelona, Cobreloa, Moberly Spartans, Chilean National Soccer Team (La Roja) and the German National Soccer Team.
