Dear Families of St. Barnabas,

Spring is just around the corner! We just finished an amazing February at school – classes completed Black

History Month projects and students read accomplishments and biographies of important African Americans

during announcements. We had a great middle school dance that was deejayed by our Police Officer partners

from the 12th district. Finally, thank you to all of our families and guests who joined us for Ash Wednesday Mass

to begin our Lenten season.

In March, students in 3rd-7th grades will be taking the TerraNova Exams. This test is important for our school’s

ratings, but more importantly it is used for high school admissions and scholarships. To prepare your child for

testing, please make sure they are getting a good night’s rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and arriving to school

on time. Please make sure your child is present every single day.

Other important reminders and information:

• 100% Nut-free School: Please do not bring any products containing nuts into our school building. We

have students and staff members with severe allergies and this can cause a dangerous situation.

• Enrollment Referral program: Please see details below for information on how to earn a $150 tuition

credit for referrals for next school year!

• BONUS Referral: If you refer a family with a student in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade we are

Class Dojo Reminder

Please check your child’s ClassDojo account every day. We post schoolwide

reminders and notices for days off. Teachers post important information on the Class

Story, including homework reminders, trip info, and photos.

We encourage you to review your child’s daily points. Positive points are earned for

students making good choices – celebrate those! Negative points are considered

demerits, and we need your help reinforcing our behavioral expectations. Please

address any demerits with your child the same day.

Any school volunteers are required to complete the PA State Criminal and the

PA Child Abuse clearances. Both of these are free for volunteers.

We would love to have parents and family members attend trips with

students. Please reach out if you are interested!

Lost & Found!

Please label your items!

We have had a lot of things left behind in our lost and found – including

sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, and more. We encourage you to label each of your

child’s items.

We are partnering with “Mabel’s Labels” for a fundraiser. They sell many types of

colorful labels that stick on clothing and other items. The school will receive a

Referral Program

Do you know a family looking for a great school like St. Barnabas? Refer a family and get a $150 tuition

credit!

HOW IT WORKS: IMS will offer a $150 tuition credit (applicable to November 2020's tuition bill) to any family

that refers another family who enrolls a child by October 1 and is up-to-date on all tuition and fees on Oct. 1,

2020.

TWO WAYS TO REFER:

1. Refer a family interested in IMS and we will contact them!

2. Tell them to visit our enrollment website, select St. Barnabas and apply online at:
