Where the 'It' tote was declared dead by a few, these bag designs have survived the test of time – and continuously being sought, if not dreamt of by most women. In that respect, let’s find out more.

Admittedly, understanding the price tag on each of these bags was a challenge to get past. A lot of women probably don't envisage ever owning one of these luxury purses, but at least now, we can better enjoy the lasting fascination around these fashions.

LOUIS VUITTON SPEEDYOn first glance, Louis Vuitton Speedy, is a basic-looking handbag. It is rounded in shape with minimal inner pocketing, double catch handles, and leather trim. It has a quiet elegant shape with coated canvas for both lightweight and durability. However, the actual attractiveness is in the crafts-manship of these handbags. It features cowhide leather trim and brass hardware with hand sewn seams. It is both lightweight and durable and exudes a quiet elegant silhouette.

Needless to say, the bag's longevity should definitely be due, in part, to the Monogram. Adding to the LV symbol, blossoms, and quatrefoils, the iconic design was borrowed from a trend during the Victorian era where using Oriental-styled design is a trend.

The very first Speedy 30 design was released in 1933. It's available in many of sizes in 25-40 together with the number referring to the bag's length, as well as in a number of layouts with the Monogram and Damier Canvas being the most well-known.

The leather for every bag is meticulously measured, cut, stitched and finished

the lining and internal of each 2.55 to make sure every last detail feels as luxe

as the outside. Each bag is quilted using machines especially developed by

Chanel, with the logo work, hardware and shoulder strap added in the final

stages. It's interesting to note that every bag's 'make' includes 180 procedures

in complete.

Coco Chanel once said 'simplicity is the keynote of true elegance.' Her iconic

2.55 handbag is this statement personified. It's totally the little black dress of

this luxury handbag world and won't ever go out of style (funny side note --

Coco Chanel is also credited with designing the original little black gown).

And lastly...in which other 'It' totes have come and gone, the Birkin is truly in a

category of its own. Until very recently, these totes boasted the longest waiting

list of any handbag in history -- up to six years. This bag practically invented

the handbag waiting list.

Hermès BirkinThe inspiration for the iconic Hermès Birkin dates back into the Haut à Cour-roies (frequently referred to as the HAC) bag, a design designed in 1892 for carrying saddlery and riding equipment. The very initial Birkin was not made until 1984 however -- three years following a chance meeting between the tote's namesake, celebrity Jane Birkin, and also the afterward Hermès Chair-man and Artistic Director, Jean-Louis Dumas.

I guess as a consequence of sorts, I have come from a place of' those totes are repellent' to respecting each design for its timeless quality and resilience in an ever-changing market. Each bag remains largely unchanged from the day it had been released until today.
