“A little is a lot, and a lot is TOO MUCH!” – Sherri Duke
Essential oils are heavily
concentrated.
Consider this: 1 drop of
peppermint essential oil is
equivalent to drinking 23 cups of
peppermint tea.
It’s best to LESS oil, MORE frequently!
Dr. Daniel Penoel says apply the oil every 15 minutes for the first hour for relief. If you use the right oil or blend you will notice improvement within the first hour.

What is a Carrier Oil?
A carrier oil is also known as a base or
vegetable oil, it is used to dilute the
essential oil before application.
It’s also named carrier because it
helps drive the essential oil into he
skin – magnifying the therapeutic
benefits.
Carrier Oil Examples
Fractionated Coconut oil
Grapeseed oil
Coconut oil
Olive oil
Apricot oil
Almond oil
How to Dilute!
Why Dilute?
MYTHS
➢ Loses it’s therapeutic quality
➢ Loses the results
➢ Results will take longer to get
➢ I have to use more essential oil if
I use a carrier oil.
FACTS
Carrier oils ensure that essential
oils that are applied topically are
comfortable on the skin. Diluting
oils with a carrier does NOT dilute
the effects of the essential oil.
Helps deliver essential oil into the
cells increasing results and
beneficial properties.
Reduces the risk of irritating the
skin.
NEAT OILSWhen possible use essential oils with a carrier, gentle essential oils such as lavender, orange,
tangerine, frankincense can be used neat but I still recommend using a carrier oil when possible.
HOT OILS
Oregano
Peppermint
Cinnamon
Clove
Lemongrass
Thyme
Cassia
Black Pepper
APPLICATION
Safety apply hot oils by diluting
them – with a minimum of 1:10.
Meaning 1 drop essential oil to 10
drops carrier oil.
Do not add hot oils or even
sensitive oils to bath water. {water
drives the oils further into the skin
increasing the burning sensation}
Use veggie capsule with carrier oil
inside and take with food.
Safely diffuse any hot oil.
Eye & Skin Protection
What if I get oil in my
eye?
Use a paper towel and apply oil
to the paper towel and
continue wiping the inside of
the corner of the eye, near the
tear duct. The essential oil will
bind to the carrier oil and be
removed from the eye
What if the oil burns my
skin?
Apply carrier oil on top of
the skin to help relieve the
burning sensation.
