Essentials Wood Species and available colors:Oak - Rugged strength and lasting durability describes Oak. It gains character from prominent grain patterns that vary from closely knit to wide sweeping patterns. Oak is a heavy hardwood with great wear resistance. Oak’s density, grain and heavy weight make it very defi ant to dents and scratches. The popular wood’s colors can range from white to light brown, with occasional pink tones.
European Beech - European Beech is a hard, strong, heavy, close-grained hardwood. This sleek, even textured wood is more dense than either maple or oak. It shares the same staining characteristics of maple, as it accepts a wide variety of stain products. In its natural state, European Beech is predominantly uniform in its blonde color, although minimal vari-ances from heart wood (pale pink-red) to sapwood (white) can occur.
Maple - The clear and smooth appearance of maple is credited to the fi ne, even grain of the wood. Maple is hard, strong and sturdy, making it a popular hardwood for cabinetry. The wood color can vary from near white to dark brown or reddish brown, and can turn yellow with age. Mineral streaks and pin knots are inherent in maple and may be enhanced by certain stains or fi nishes.

How To Order Essentials Cabinets (Continued)All cabinets are designated with an Alphanumeric coding system. This code starts with a one or two letter prefi x, which denotes the type of cabinet. This is followed by the number which refer to the size.
ALPHA Code:TheAlpha code covers the overall category of a type of cabinet as well as itsassociatedsub-categories. The following is a listing of general categories as well as some examples of the sub categories:
Numeric Code:To understand the numeric portion of the code we need to cover some of the construction standards we use. These dimensions are standard and therefore do not appear in the code.
Wall Cabinet standard is 12” deep by 30”/36”/ or 42” tall Base Cabinet Standard is 34 1/2” tall, 24” deep, on a 4 1/2” tall kick
Vanity Cabinets standard is 30”tall, 21” deep, on a 4 1/2” tall kick Tall Cabinets standard is 84” 90” or 96” tall and either 12” or 24” deep
The fi rst number or two always refer to the width of the cabinet. A “B30” is a base cabinet that is 30” wide. Since the standard is 34½” tall and 24” deep, no other designation is required. Likewise, a “VANB30” is a vanity base that is 30” wide and is a standard 30” tall by 21” deep. As in our base cabinet, no further numbers are required. Wall cabinets have various standard production heights ranging from 12” tall for above the refrigerator to 42” tall. These varying heights require additional numbers to denote its height and are the second two numbers shown. The standard depth is 12” and therefore is not listed.
Example: W3012 is 30” wide by 12” tallExample: W3042 is 30” wide by 42” tall
Tall cabinets have three standard production heights of 84”, 90” or 96” tall. They also feature two standard depths of 12” and 24” deep. This requires additional numbers. The rule of thumb is: alpha, width, height, and depth.
Example: PC308424 is a Pantry cabinet 30” wide, 84” tall and 24” deep Example: PC309612 is a Pantry cabinet 30” wide, 96” tall, and 12” deep.

OakCraft cabinetry is made from natural wood products and select hardwoods. It is fi nished with a high quality catalyzed varnish coating that requires minimum care. Occasional maintenance is all that is required to retain your cabinets natural beauty and keep them looking new.
In the kitchen setting, our products can be exposed to a harsh environment. We have worked closely with our fi nish suppliers to develop the most advanced chemical coating technology to provide optimum protection and durability. This includes our catalyzed sealer and varnish with UV inhibitors. As with any product constructed of wood, preventative care in keepins your cabinets looking their best. Listed below are a few suggestions to make cabinet care easier.
Wipe up spills, splatters and water spots as they occur, keeping cabinets and countertop surfaces dry. Give special attention to areas near kitchen and bath sinks, dishwasher, and trash, or any other area that is exposed to moisture.
Clean cabinets as needed with a damp (not wet) cloth, followed by a dry, lint free soft cloth. This will preserve the natural beauty of the fi nished surface while removing most household dust or stains. Always dry your cabinets thoroughly.
A solution of mild liquid soap (i.e. Murphy’s Oil Soap) and water can be wiped on and gently rubbed off using a damp (not wet) soft cloth, then dried thoroughly.
Do not leave wet cloths or towels on or in cabinets.
Never allow cabinet surfaces to be in prolonged contact with strong acids, alkalis or water.
Abrasive cleaners and scouring pads will scratch the surface and should never be used. Paste waxes, household polishes, oils, and solvent-based cleaners should also be avoided. These products leave a residue, which will build up over time and will eventually reduce the luster and sheen of your cabinetry.
Should your cabinets need a little shine, you may use a high quality cream polish very sparingly (i.e. Guardsman Fine Furniture Cream Polish). This should not be done more than once per year.
Thank you for choosing OakCraft!

This warranty applies strictly to those products catalogued and manufactured by OakCraft, and does not extend to any product used in conjunction, such as countertops, plumbing, or appliances.
Natural woods may vary in texture, color and wood grain, and exhibit subtle changes as they age. For example, wood joints may eventually have visible separation at the joint area as well as center panels may shrink. This is the nature of the material in relation to its environmental exposure and is not a manufacturing defect. The grain and color variation in real wood is what lends to its natural beauty; differences in color or grain between doors and/or fronts or frames ARE NOT considered defects. Issues such as these are not covered under this warranty.
As with any fi ne furniture piece, prolonged exposure to extremes in temperature and/or humidity will have an adverse effect on your cabinetry. These effects may include fi nish failure, door splits, cracking veneers, and separation at frame/door joints. This warranty does not cover damage from exposure to extremes in temperature or humidity. OakCraft strongly recommends that the area where our cabinets have been installed be acclimated to 82° Fahrenheit as soon as possible. If OakCraft cabinets are installed in a house that is not within ninety (90) days of shipping, issues caused by these extremes will not be honored under the warranty.
All fi ne wood furniture, including our cabinetry will “mellow” with time. The cabinet color may darken or lighten. The resulting change in hue is a natural aging process of both the fi nish and the wood, and is not considered a defect. Direct exposure to sunlight will enhance and accelerate this effect. We utilize UV (ultra violet radiation) inhibitors in our fi nish to minimize the sunlight’s effect, however we strongly recommend that adequate window coverings be used to help lessen the impact.
Please note that when cabinetry is ordered unfi nished, the warranty is null and void on all of the wood product. All hardware such as hinges, guides, and spin trays will still be covered under our warranty policy.
Our experience has shown that some cabinet doors may tend to warp slightly during (or soon after) installation. This is caused by the increased moisture usually resulting from shipment into another region, or because of the moisture inherent in new construction from green concrete, texture, plaster and painting. With the fi rst heating season, the house will dehumidify and allow doors to stabilize. In remodeling, this effect can be minimized by allowing the doors to stand open a few days while they adjust to their new environment. Please allow OakCraft cabinetry at least one full cooling and heating cycle to adjust before contacting your authorized dealer. After this, all doors exceeding ¼” warpage will be eligible for warranty replacement.
OakCraft will not warranty any product that is damaged from negligence (i.e. excessive moisture/water).
An authorized OakCraft representative must approve any warranty repair or replacement. OakCraft may, at its option, require defective parts be returned to the factory for validation of defect. Please contact the OakCraft dealer where the product was purchased for warranty requests.
