What is eStatements? eStatements is a service provided by your institution to allow you to view your documents through the Internet. As an eStatement user, you have a personalized eStatement home page that you can use to access all the documents archived for you by your institution. In addition, your institution can send you an email notification each time a new document is available.

How Can I Access My eStatement? You can access your eStatement home page and documents through the Internet in several ways.

1. By e-mail notification. As an eStatement customer, you can opt to regularly receive e-mails when your document is available. To access the document, simply click the link to the document in the e-mail you receive.

2. By adding a bookmark. You can access eStatement at any time by opening your browser to your eStatement web address. You may want to bookmark your eStatement home page in your browser to return to it in the future.

3. By a link on your institution’s home page. Contact your institution if you do not know where the link is located.

When you access your eStatement page, you may need to provide a username and password to access your home page.

eStatement Access Requirements To access eStatements, you need either Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or higher or Netscape version 6.1 or higher to serve as your browser. You can download a free browser by accessing one of the links below.

Microsoft Internet Explorer: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/

Mozilla Firefox: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ie.html

In addition, you may need Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or higher, or a TIFF viewer, to view your documents.

NOTE: For links to Adobe Acrobat and a TIFF viewer, see “Viewing a Document” on page 5.

Viewing Your eStatement Home Page Your eStatement home page has three main areas.

The Documents area lists the document types for which eStatement documents are available.

The Unviewed Documents area includes the eStatement documents that you have not viewed yet. After you view a document in your Unviewed Documents area, the link no longer appears under Unviewed Documents. However, you can access the document from your Documents list. In addition, you can remove all the documents from the Unviewed Documents area by clicking the Mark All Viewed link.

The Links area includes links related to your institution. It also may include links that allow you to change your eStatement password, email address, and other information.

Viewing a Document When you click the link to a document on your Documents list or your Unviewed Documents list, the document is displayed in your browser.

Depending on your institution, you may have several tabs for displaying your document in different ways. Click on a tab at the top of the document to display an alternate view of the document.

If you accessed the document from your Documents list (rather than the Unviewed Document list), links to previous versions of your document are displayed on the right side.

NOTE: If you have trouble opening a document, you may see an error message indicating that you need to install a PDF viewer or a TIFF viewer.

If you need a PDF viewer, you will see a window asking whether you would like to download a file or save it to disk. Cancel the window and install Acrobat Reader to view your statement. To install a free PDF viewer, open http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html in your browser and follow the instructions to download and install Acrobat Reader.

If you are not able to open a TIF image file, you will need to install a TIFF viewer to see your document. To install a free TIFF viewer, open http://www.alternatiff.com/ in your browser and follow the instructions to download and install AlternaTIFF.

How to Print Your eStatement Document If you have a printer, you can print your eStatement document directly from your browser. Depending on your browser and the type of viewer in which your document is displayed, there are different ways to print a document.

If your document is displayed with a printer icon in the menu bar, click the icon to print the document, and select the number of pages to print. Be sure to preview the print, if available.

If no printer icon is displayed, click the File menu in your browser, and click Print. Preview the print, if available. You may need to adjust the margins to print the entire document.

If you have trouble printing, contact your institution’s eStatement administrator.

Open Solutions COWWW Print Capture DDS features a Printer Driver that allows you to capture the printed output from any Windows program. The driver creates a TIFF file of the document, and the text is saved for each page, if available from Windows.

RSA – Multi Factor Authentication RSA Adaptive Authentication is a flexible, layered authentication solution. Open Solutions offers the use of RSA’s challenge question authentication service when you access the DDS application.

IMPORTANT! If your bank has not purchased the RSA add-on, and if you do not enter the DDS application through Home banking, thereby using the standalone DDS login page, RSA does not apply to you.

Challenge Questions Authentication Process If you attempt to log in to DDS and the system determines there is additional risk, the challenge question authentication process automatically launches. The following steps detail what you encounter as you navigate through the additional authentication process.

1. Log in to DDS (enter your USER NAME and PASSWORD).

2. Click the Login button.

Risk-based Authentication analyzes the risk based on your profile. In a low risk scenario, the DDS home page displays.

If a high-risk is determined, further authentication is required, and you are redirected to the Risk-based Authentication screen, where you are prompted to answer the challenge questions stored for you.

3. Answer the challenge question and click Submit. After passing the authentication successfully, Risk-based Authentication redirects you to the DDS home page.

If you fail to answer the challenge question correctly, the following warning screen displays:

IMPORTANT! You have a limited number of attempts to answer the challenge questions correctly. If you do not answer correctly in the number of attempts designated by your institution, your status will be locked within the RSA Authentication module, and the following screen displays:

If you cannot locate the verification email you received, you can click the “Resend Email Verification Message” link to send another one to the email address you have supplied.
