ConcentrationAs an aspiring surgeon, the human body fascinates me. Through various science classes, I realized that I am endlessly fascinated by the microscopic world inside the cellular, organic, muscular, and other systems in our bodies. But, I also have a passion for the arts.

I do art because I find it exhilarating to create new and meaningful designs. Art is my escape into the vast universe of creativity. My love for both anatomy and art created this idea in me: the human body through design.

In my concentration, I explore the patterns of the human body through cutting, cardboard, and color. I start with the intricate patterns of the body and end by panning out to the faces that are now more complete and have color. I use cardboard to create the earthy, natural feel of the body. I use mainly black and white with some reds and blues to emphasize on the design of the body and the main colors of the body.

With the use of Line, I cut out paper to create patterns representative of the body's cells such as my first piece in my Concentration and muscles like those of piece four. Using Repetition, I created the design aspect of the anatomy, repeating various patterns and styles to keep the flow that resonates with the human body. Keeping simple compositions and materials,

I explored the design and patterns of neurons, muscles, lungs and much more to convey not only my passions, but also the beauty of the human body.
