The Interactive Learning component forms the core of the PGCFBM. Instructors facilitate learning via two-way audio/video synchronous telecommunication mode from the studios set up at IIM Calcutta campus. The technology allows the instructor to use slide presentations, video, audio, whiteboards etc. to effectively communicate ideas and interact with participants.

The classes will be conducted once a week

There will 2 be campus visits, each of 5 days at IIMC campus, Kolkata1st Visit: 5th to 9th November, 20192nd Visit: TBD

Each class will be of 3 hours.

Pan India Network of Learning Centres53 learning centres spread across 37 cities all over India.

Evaluation Methodology includes Written Tests, Assignments, Online Examination, Quizzes etc.

In Campus ModulesBesides sessions delivered across the Interactive Learning platform, the programme also includes 10 days of in-Campus modules of face-to-face sessions at the 135-acre IIMC campus in Kolkata.

Split into 2 modules of 5 days each (one each at the beginning and end of the course), the in-Campus sessions would be held by IIMC faculty as well as guest faculty invited because of their domain expertise.

Programme Directors

Anindya Sen holds a Ph. D degree from the University of Southern California, USA. His work experience includes various positions in leading universities. He joined the School of Business and Management and the American University of Armenia as a Visiting Professor; the Department of Economics, University of Notre Dame, as a Visiting Associate Professor; the Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research as an Associate Professor and Professor; and the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, as a Lecturer. Professor Sen has also served as Director in Charge of IIM Ranchi. He has catered to the interest of TI Cycles in a case study, and Reserve Bank of India during a project on industrial sickness in Eastern Region. He has played a major role in ‘Evaluation of Marketing Support by NEC for Agri-Horti Products in North-East India’. He has had an association with Joint Directors for Training Programme on project planning, evaluation and management for officers of North-eastern states, sponsored by DONER; Joint Directors for Training Programme for IES Officer Trainees, sponsored by the Ministry of Finance, Govt. of India.

Prafulla Y. Agnohotri’s academic background includes a PhD in management from the University of Mumbai, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). He has studied the feasibility of launching new products in the Indian market; studied the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and measurement of Brand awareness; launched Quality Circles Movement in a medium sized firm; designed the distribution channels and suggested a strategy to increase sales and market share in and around Mumbai city. During his career, he has donned various hats as Associate Professor in Marketing and International Business Management, Professor in Marketing and International Business Management, Head of the Department (HOD) of Marketing, and Member of the Board of Management. Professor Agnihotri has also served as founding Director of IIM Trichy. He has worked in the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce as Head-Training & Marketing; The Supreme Industries Ltd. as Product Manager; Voltas International Ltd. as Dy Divisional Manager (Commodities); Forbes Campbell & Co. Ltd. as Management Probationer and then as Assistant Manager (Marketing).
