Glyndŵr University - Sports Centre
The Wrexham campus is one of the premier sporting venues in North Wales. Facilities include a sports hall, twoartificial turf pitches, a fitness suite and dance studio/education room. The sports centre has grown since first openingits doors.The refurbished Glyndŵr Northop centre has a sports hall and changing facilities.The sports hall plays host to activities including ; badminton, netball, table tennis, five-a-side football, basketball andvolleyball. The campus also provides cross-country running and orienteering courses for people and horses.

Glyndŵr University - Sports Centre
Glyndŵr University's library offers a wide range ofinformation resources to support the students’studies in a comfortable and flexible learningenvironment.There are over 120,000 books, DVDs and otherlearning resources in the Edward Llwyd Centreon the Wrexham Plas Coch Campus.It also offer access to all staff and students toonline electronic resources such as about 1,000electronic textbooks and over 6,000 full textelectronic journals.
The best way to get started is to search theLibrary’s catalogue at http://library.glyndwr.ac.ukwhere it will also be able to search for books atBangor University Library. If oneself is member ofstaff or student at Bangor University the librarycard entitles is possible to borrow from GlyndŵrUniversity Library.

The Health Promotion Library
The Health Promotion Library is part of thePublic Health Wales NHS Trust and is located atGlyndŵr University Library in Wrexham. TheHealth Promotion Library offers a wide range ofinformation and advice on various topicsincluding:Alcohol and DrugsThe ElderlyHealthy SexualityMental healthNutritionSmokingStressThe information is available through acomprehensive range formats including DVDsand teaching packs on a lending service as wellas an extensive range of free health promotionleaflets. A catalogue of all DVDs and teachingpacks , giving guidance on whom they are aimedat and a catalogue code can be accessed athttp://ww2.newi.ac.uk/health_promotion_library/index.aspHealth promotion books are also available toborrow from Glyndŵr University Library whichcan be searched at http://library.glyndwr.ac.uk/The Health Promotion Library is open 8.45am to5.00pm Monday to Thursday.
There is a range of catering outlets acrossthe Wrexham campus where students caneat, drink, relax and socialise in anenvironment that is as stylish and modern ascan be found on the high street. There arealso a number of vending machines locatedacross the campus providing quickrefreshments.The Plas Coch site hosts Scholar’s Rest,the main dining area, which offers everythingfrom sandwiches and salads to breakfastsand complete evening meals.Other outlets at Plas Coch include FellowsCafé Bar (a high street style coffee bar),Chapters Retail & Café Bar (an ‘essentials’shop), Café Direct Vending Cartz (a selfservice facility in the library), and CaféDarganfod in the Crispin Lane Building nearTechniquest Glyndŵr.Also on site is Restaurant 1887, a greatvenue for a special meal out – reservationsare required for the restaurant.Glyndŵr University Catering Services hasachieved the 'Hospitality Assured' award forits customer service and quality. Glyndŵr University has a nurse on campusduring term time to provide a confidentialservice for both emergency treatment andadvice on health matters. Health Centrealso has two GP practices on site, bothoffering access to male and female doctorsand providing a confidential service.Students may register with either of thesepractices or with one of the variety of otherpractices in Wrexham.All Glyndŵr University students areencouraged to register with a local doctor (ifthey are not already living locally), whichthey can do at enrolment/induction.
