Model 70001851
Single Port Device Server For Serial to Ethernet Connectivity
Overview Model 70001851 device server easily allows any device with a serial port to connect to the Ethernet. The compact
design delivers cost-effective performance and capability in one of the smallest form factors available. The 70001851 delivers standard serial-to-Ethernet connectivity and is ideal for serial tunneling applications or
applications where COM ports, TCP Socket, UDP Socket, or UDP Multicast functionality is needed. Serial tunneling allows two previously non-networked and isolated devices to easily communicate information and operate with existing installed software applications on an Ethernet network, instead of a long serial cable. 70001851 also works with software applications using TCP/UDP Sockets allowing a serial device to interoperate with the software applications without the need to install a driver.
Model 70001851 is easy to install locally or remotely through a variety of IP addressing methods (DHCP, RARP,
ARP-Ping) along with an application (included on the installation CD that accompanies the product) that will automatically detect all 70001851 devices on your network. Also included is a quick-start guide that supports making the network configuration of the product easy and hassle-free. Features • TCP/UDP Socket Services for broad device connectivity and application use • UDP Multicast • Autoconnect serial devices to networked server using raw, Telnet, Rlogin • Reverse Telnet for easy access of serial devices from network • Patented RealPort technology for COM and TTY ports • Easy configuration through web interface (HTTP) 10/100Base-T Ethernet support • DHCP/RARP/ARP-Ping for IP address assignment • DB-9M serial connector • EIA-232/422/485 switch selection for simple interfacing to any serial device • Baud rates up to 230 Kbps • Full modem and hardware flow control • LED status for link and power • Installation CD for easy configuration
Operating System RealPort drivers for COM/TTY support
