1 About this ETK Drivers & Tools version

1.1 Type of version

This version contains a complete product installation.

1.2 Scope of application

With this version user of all ETAS XETK Configuration Tool are addressed. The changes made in this release do not affect ETK users. For a list of new or enhanced functions in the ETK/XETK drivers see chapter 4.1 and for a list of corrections see chapter 4.3. For a list of new or enhanced functions in the ETK Configuration Tool see chapter 5.1 and for a list of corrections see chapter 5.3.

For a list of new or enhanced functions in the XETK Configuration Tool see chapter 6.1 and for a list of corrections see chapter 6.3.


2 Product Definition The ETK Drivers & Tools product enables easy update of the ETK drivers and configuration tools installed on the PC. The ETK Drivers & Tools installation updates the ETK drivers for supported INCA versions and installs or overwrites a configuration tool version for the ETK and XETK products.

2.1 System Prerequisites

The minimum system requirements for the target SW has to fulfilled, e.g. for INCA V6.2 following minimum system prerequisites has to be met:

The difference in ETK configuration is not a result of an issue with the ECU project or the ECU/ETK system, but of a changed handling of memory regions as of INCA 7.1.1.

8 Hints

8.1 Recovery of old driver versions

An ETK Drivers & Tools installation performs either an update or a down date of the existing drivers. If update applies the possible selections are automatically checked by the program. In case of the installed driver versions are newer then the installed ones the selection boxes are not checked and a down date warning occurs. With other words if performing an ETK Drivers & Tools installation the installed, i.e. in use by INCA, driver versions will always be overwritten. If the recovery of an older driver version is desired, the ETK Drivers & Tools version containing the required driver version has to be installed, i.e. has to be downdated with an older ETK Drivers & Tools release.

8.2 Delete of unused entries in the Windows start menu

An uninstall of the ETK Drivers & Tools product does not delete the Release Notes and disclaimer entries from the Windows start menu. This is because the ETK drivers are still used by INCA. However an uninstall of INCA does not delete these entries either. In case of invalid or unwanted entries, these should be deleted manually.
