USNA TO H OST 53RDANNUAL FOREIGNAFFAIRS CONFERENCEThe Naval Academy will host its 53rd annual ForeignAffairs Conference Apr. 9-11 for faculty and studentsfrom around the nation.

This years conference seeks to examine thenear-term effects of current geopolitical trends andevents. The theme is Time of Transition, and topicsof discussion will focus on how to view the world in asecurity context with emphasis on the Middle East andthe Paci c.

Key speakers include Commander of the U.S. SpecialOperations Command Adm. William McRaven, former

Deputy Secretary of Defense Richard Armitage, Am-bassador Paula J. Dobriansky and Middle East expertAaron David Miller.

Dogs serve their human partners in many differentways. For Daniel Tucholski , the 23-year-old son of anactive-duty naval of cer stationed at the U.S. Naval Academy, a dog means independence.
