the Trident UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY TOP STORIES NAVAL ACADEMY BREAKS GROUND ON NEW HEALTH CLINIC Construction officially began on the new Naval Health Clinic Annapolis, April 18th, with a ground-breaking ceremony just outside the Naval Support Activity. Vice Adm. Mike Miller, Naval Academy Superintendent, attended the ceremony and delivered the keynote remarks. The Navy’s Deputy Surgeon General, Rear Adm. Forrest Faison, and Naval Health Clinic Annapolis Commanding Officer, Capt. Sheherazad Hartzell, also delivered remarks at the ceremony. “I think about the vision of this place, what will stand here, the number of folks that are midshipmen, active duty, their dependents, our retirees and the great quality of care that has been afforded by Capt. Hartzell and her team here,” said Vice Adm. Miller. “This tradition of excellence that is what the Naval Academy is known for.” “No worries mate” was the phrase of the week for 19th Company midshipmen and staff as they traveled to Australia during spring break. Midshipmen also learned a great deal about Australian military. A USNA graduate who is now a Navy SEAL (and wishes to remain anonymous), wrote the following letter as part of the ongoing series “Letter to My Former Self.” Midshipmen performing Gender Matters, a student produced monologue session on gender bias within the Brigade, were armed with their words and keen observations on the topic of gender and sexuality. 16th Annual Health Nutrit ion,Fitness Fair May 6 All DoD-authorized people are invited to MWR Annapolis’ 16th Annual Health, Nutrition and Fitness Fair, presented by Johns Hopkins Medicine US Family Health Plan on May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the gymnasium of the MWR Recreation Services Bldg. #89, NSA Annapolis. There will be free health screenings, healthy snacks, contests, information booths and interactive activities, giveaways and door prizes.

MwR T-BALL/BASEBALLRegistration for the 2014 Coed Youth T-Ball/Baseball League will run through March 17 at the Billy the Kid Youth Center, 126 Alder Road, NSA Annapolis. The league is for ages 4-12.
