ABOUT EU HOLIDAYS

VISION AND MISSIONEU Holidays devotes our whole energy towards focusing on long haul package tours, which is our main differentiating factor from other travel agencies. We narrowed our attention to areas such as Europe, USA, Middle East and some of the more exotic locations as these are the leading travel destinations for locals in recent years. At EU Holidays, we want to establish our position as the leading professional agency that specializes in Europe and USA leisure travel package tours for the local market.

In EU Holidays, we want to take the hassle out of travelling, so as to let our customers fully experience their vacation without worrying over any details. Whether it is to relax and relieve stress, enjoy fun and exciting activities, explore new places, or learn and discover new knowledge, EU Holidays has a wide variety of itineraries designed to satisfy your travel needs. We want our customers to have faith that each time they book with EU Holidays, they will be embarking on the greatest adventure of their lives.

At EU Holidays, we take pride in providing our customers with excellent service by undergoing professional training and motivation courses and workshops. EU customers can easily meet our friendly and reliable staff face-to-face at the various travel fairs, outdoor roadshows and events that we participate in. Our staffs are all committed to go the extra mile to please our customers and give them their dream vacation.

EU Holidays was founded by a group of experienced directors

passionate about their work in the travel

industry. They wanted to do something new

that could better serve the travel needs of

consumers, which is the main driving force behind the establishment of our

travel agency.

PROGRESS AND MILESTONESWithin five years of business operations, we have expanded EU Holidays and opened up three other subsidiary offices to focus on the various needs of our customers. The EU MICE office was set up in 2013 to cater for corporate travel with a focus on corporate meetings, conventions and events. In that same year, EU Asia was launched to cater for customers who are interested in travelling within Asia. In the following year, we opened up EU Vacations to serve the Malaysian market. In doing so, EU Holidays strives to constantly improve our products and services so that we can better serve our customers.

Despite being a young company, EU Holidays has gained significant recognition from both customers and industry professionals. Founded in late 2010, EU Holidays was voted Top MasterCard Supporter in NATAS Travel, from as early as 2012 for four consecutive years. After just two years in business, EU Holidays was presented with two valuable awards – the Asia Excellence Award 2013 and the Singapore Excellence Award 2013. During the later half of the year, we also received the Singapore Quality Brands 2014 award. Since 2012, EU Holidays was named the ‘Best Travel Agency for Europe and USA Tours’ as voted by readers of ESCAPE! travel magazine. For two years running since 2014, we have also been awarded with the Weekender Travellers’ Choice Award as No. 1 for Europe and USA tours, voted by their readers.

WHY TRAVEL IN WINTER? ‘Tis the season to be snowy! If you’re thinking

about going for a Christmas vacation, stop and consider a wintery destination, unlike Miami,

Thailand or Dubai. There may be worries about the bleak weather, lack of colour and the dangers of falling ill, but there are plenty more reasons why

you should take on a holiday during the winter season. Here are five of them.

Pure, white and soft, snow is a rare beauty that only appears during one season each year and that’s for non-tropical islands near the equator. For city dwellers that are pretty much sick of

the sun and humidity, seeing gorgeous snowflakes plunge from the sky is a priceless experience in itself. The weather may be biting and the temperature may be freezing, but the sight of snow-covered roads and snow-capped mountains trumps it all, hands down.

Have you always wanted to get down and dirty and make a snow angel? Or build a snowman? Or engage in a snowball fight? Without winter, these activities would not be possible. Without winter, there also would not be snowboarding or skiing. Sure, there are alternatives to these sports, but they’re just not the same without the crunchy, icy ground. Besides, if you’re venturing near a forested area, you may even discover a rad frozen lake or better yet, an ice cave. Though, it’s better to be safe than sorry when exploring mysterious off-track locations.

Next, this may be a no-brainer, but in winter, there’s never a time when you will have to complain about sweating because of the scorching sun’s sweltering heat. Be honest: no one likes to burn

and be subjected to possible heat stroke. When it’s the time of year where water turns into snow, it will feel like there’s automatic air-conditioning wherever you go. You will feel the delightful glow of the sun, but you won’t melt. Any sane person wouldn’t be able to say no to that.

As the temperature drops, so will the prices for air tickets and hotel rooms. This is because everyone who prefers vacations at the beach would usually flock towards where the sun is. In a bid to attract travellers and keep their tourism industry alive and thriving, these establishments will most likely offer discounts and deals. A huge plus for budget-conscious visitors, it basically offers picturesque wintery views and experiences for lesser.

Thanks to all the residents who have fled the country temporarily for a sunnier one, there will be fewer people crowding the places of attraction. No more getting stuck at the back of a horde with a lousy view; no more elbowing strangers for personal space; no more winding queues and long waiting hours. Whether you’re heading to the museum or the ski resort, you’ll get to lap it up in tranquillity and near blissful solitude.

4 TIPS TO SURVIVE WINTER Winter can turn out to be a brutal season if you’re not aware of the necessary precautions to take. For all the first-timers, this mini guide will come in handy and aid in ensuring a more pleasurable holiday in the snow. • Keep your immune system up by taking your vitamins every

day. You wouldn’t want to have one hand on ski poles and another hand stuffing tissue paper into your nose. Don’t end up becoming Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, who has to stay indoors with a pathetic bowl of chicken broth.

• When it gets cold, the air loses its humidity. As a result, your skin will be affected by the environment and become all dry and chapped. The worst part is feeling the damage on your lips. To prevent these problems, go crazy on the moisturiser. Follow a skincare regime religiously and regularly.

• Winter has a dress code, and unless you’re an experienced native who has braved multiple blizzards and survived, don’t go against it. First things first, get some long johns. The more coverage the better, so you’ll need a long winter coat as well – not a leather jacket or a cardigan, but a winter coat. A thick wool sweater will do the trick when you’re indoors. Other essential garments include thick socks, scarves, gloves and a sturdy pair of snow boots.

• Stay active to beat the cold. It may take a while to get used to the plunging negative degree temperatures, so aside from staying put in front of the fireplace, the next best way to survive it is to do some exercise. Be it a casual jog around the neighbourhood or a full-on skiing and ice-skating adventure, these high-energy activities will help generate more bodily heat and battle the frosty forecast.

For thousands of years, the area has been continuously inhabited by Native Americans who built settlements within the canyon and its many caves. The Pueblo people considered the Grand Canyon is a holy site, and made pilgrimages to it. The first European known to have discovered the Grand Canyon was García López de Cárdenas from Spain, who arrived in 1540. Since then, the magnificent scenery has attracted approximately 4.41 million visitors each year from all parts of the globe.

The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided canyon carved by the Colorado River since it began to run more than 17 million years ago in the state of Arizona in the United States. Today, the canyon is 446 kilometres long, up to 29 kilometres wide and attains a depth of over 1,857 metres.

EU Holidays offers you an exclusive excursion where you can enjoy the Grand Canyon South Rim in style. The popular Grand Canyon Tour will include a flight and coach for you to visit the Grand Canyon. Appreciate the majesty of the massive canyon carved by the Colorado River as you fly over the renowned Las Vegas Valley, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the Colorado River on the way to the Grand Canyon’s south rim. Board a luxury coach accompanied by an experienced local guide, who will share some history and facts along the tour. Stop by at two panoramic destinations, Mather Point and Bright Angel Lodge to enjoy breathtaking views and fantastic photo opportunities.

TOP 5 MOST BREATH-TAKING SIGHTS IN SOUTH AMERICAIn Latin America, home to such nations as Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Peru, there is no shortage of beauty, both natural and manufactured. We provide you with a run-down of the most picturesque attractions in the continent that promises to take your breath away.

1 Machu PicchuDominating all others, the most enthralling spot in all of South America

is Machu Picchu. Dating back to the 15th century, the ancient site is allegedly the last Incan city in Peru. Its primeval presence will transport you into the mysterious world of yesteryear. To reach the ruins, you would have to journey 2,430m above the sea level to the top of the mountain. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the abandoned grounds blend into the steep, rocky terrain and green plains. To get the best views, head to the highest point for a panorama of the almost systematically placed rows of stonewalls.

2 uyuni salt flatsAt 10,582sqkm, Bolivia’s Uyuni Salt Flats is the largest of its kind in the

world. Unlike the sand dunes of the Ica Desert, this vast stretch of land has a level surface coated with a snowy white salt crust. What’s more, the unbelievably breath-taking panorama looks like a giant mirror that reflects the sky, hence creating the illusion of a reduced gap between the Earth and sky.

3 Torres Del PaineComing in third is the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile. Picturesque

mountains and glaciers, almost too impressive to seem real, sit among winding rivers and lakes. The protected area may be populated with stunning flora and fauna, but the show-stealer remains to be the trio of mountain peaks known as Torres del Paine, the park’s namesake. Other odd-shaped, snow-capped Alps command attention as well.

4 Ica DesertVenture towards southern Peru and you will find the city of Ica, within

which lies the renowned Ica Desert. An endless landscape of sand dunes dipping in and out of the horizon, the barren land is not a sight commonly seen in urban cities. Take advantage of the soft terrain to do some sandboarding or roam around in sand buggies. Don’t forget to make a pit stop at Huacachina, a puny village in the Ica Region, a lone settlement surrounded by the expanse of sand. The spectacular desert oasis, built around a lake, is surprisingly inhabited by only a hundred over people.

5 Iguazu FallsStraddling between the border of Brazil and Argentina is the arc-shaped

waterfall, Iguazu Falls. The gargantuan natural landmark spans an impressive 2,700m across from end to end, making it one of the world’s largest cataracts. Watch in awe as the curtain of water cascade down an 80m distance. A train ride takes you to the waterfall, but if you prefer to be airborne, you can hop on to a helicopter as well. Found in the heart of the Iguazu National Park, it is enveloped in dense greenery, which also makes for an impressive sight. Diverse and eye-catching, the wildlife there, such as howler monkeys, jaguars and tapirs, can be easily spotted.
