ABOUT EU HOLIDAYS

VISION AND MISSIONEU Holidays devotes our whole energy towards focusing on long haul package tours, which is our main differentiating factor from other travel agencies. We narrowed our attention to areas such as Europe, USA, Middle East and some of the more exotic locations as these are the leading travel destinations for locals in recent years. At EU Holidays, we want to establish our position as the leading professional agency that specializes in Europe and USA leisure travel package tours for the local market.

In EU Holidays, we want to take the hassle out of travelling, so as to let our customers fully experience their vacation without worrying over any details. Whether it is to relax and relieve stress, enjoy fun and exciting activities, explore new places, or learn and discover new knowledge, EU Holidays has a wide variety of itineraries designed to satisfy your travel needs. We want our customers to have faith that each time they book with EU Holidays, they will be embarking on the greatest adventure of their lives.

At EU Holidays, we take pride in providing our customers with excellent service by undergoing professional training and motivation courses and workshops. EU customers can easily meet our friendly and reliable staff face-to-face at the various travel fairs, outdoor roadshows and events that we participate in. Our staffs are all committed to go the extra mile to please our customers and give them their dream vacation.

EU Holidays was founded by a group of experienced directors

passionate about their work in the travel

industry. They wanted to do something new

that could better serve the travel needs of

consumers, which is the main driving force behind the establishment of our

travel agency.

PROGRESS AND MILESTONESWithin five years of business operations, we have expanded EU Holidays and opened up three other subsidiary offices to focus on the various needs of our customers. The EU MICE office was set up in 2013 to cater for corporate travel with a focus on corporate meetings, conventions and events. In that same year, EU Asia was launched to cater for customers who are interested in travelling within Asia. In the following year, we opened up EU Vacations to serve the Malaysian market. In doing so, EU Holidays strives to constantly improve our products and services so that we can better serve our customers.

Despite being a young company, EU Holidays has gained significant recognition from both customers and industry professionals. Founded in late 2010, EU Holidays was voted Top MasterCard Supporter in NATAS Travel, from as early as 2012 for four consecutive years. After just two years in business, EU Holidays was presented with two valuable awards – the Asia Excellence Award 2013 and the Singapore Excellence Award 2013. During the later half of the year, we also received the Singapore Quality Brands 2014 award. Since 2012, EU Holidays was named the ‘Best Travel Agency for Europe and USA Tours’ as voted by readers of ESCAPE! travel magazine. For two years running since 2014, we have also been awarded with the Weekender Travellers’ Choice Award as No. 1 for Europe and USA tours, voted by their readers.

of holidaymakers flock to this sun-drenched nation for its sandy beaches, but many don’t know that Spain is just more than just home to sunshine and beaches.

If you’re a night owl or party animal, Spain is just perfect for you. The country of Spain has long been synonymous with fun, festive vibes, vivacity, great weather and most importantly, the vibrant nightlife. You will find a whole host of restaurants, bars, concert venues, pubs and clubs where you can enjoy a fantastic night out in town and party all night long, even until the sun comes up. It is common to see the Spanish gathering to have drinks and chat from about 10 in the evening until the wee hours of morning. We recommend heading to nightclubs in Barcelona if you’re a fan of techno and electronic music, or party in Madrid’s fashionable and designer clubs, whereas Valencia is renowned for their beachfront discos. With so many different options, your sojourn in Spain is guaranteed to give you a night to remember.

If there’s anything you can’t miss while in Spain, it’s their tapas. This is a Spanish culinary specialty that comprises of a variety of dishes, including local delicacies such as Iberian cured ham, the traditional potato omelette, exquisite seafood or even miniature haute cuisine specialities that are presented in small quantities in the form of tapas. Giving you all the local flavours of Spain in a single meal, sampling tapas is also an excellent way to experience Spanish culture in its purest form and enjoy the charms of the bars and taverns, among which there are some that specialize in tapas. The Spanish custom of going out for a round of the tapas bars is also considered as a prelude to a night of partying and

dancing, which usually start after midnight. On the other hand, Portugal has a

friendly, laidback atmosphere that renders it more low-key than its neighbour, Spain. A large part of the country’s charm is its fantastic coastline, flanked by glorious sands and dunes – perfect for languid days on the beach, relaxing and sun-tanning while sipping cocktails and beers. However, Portugal is also home to a rich legacy of historic cities, particularly Lisbon for its grand monuments and structures as well as medieval passageways.

The oldest capital in Europe after Athens, Lisbon’s history dates back to 300,000 years ago, when it was founded by Greek traveller and hero Ulysses and named Ulissipo or Olissipo, which means ‘enchanted port’. Indeed, the much-coveted city became a battlefield for Phoenicians, Greeks Romans, Carthaginians and even Spaniards during the early years, whom all wanted a piece of this coastal city with its strategic location. Lisbon became the world’s most prosperous trading centre during the Age of Discoveries in the 15th century as the main departure point for all sea expeditions, and the discovery of new colonies and a new sea route to India propelled Portugal to become one of Europe’s former imperial powers. As a result, the current Lisbon houses a multitude of historical architecture, treasures and World Heritage monuments, attributing to the various influences from its past. Yet, Lisbon is also quickly gaining a reputation as one of Europe’s trendiest cities with a flourishing night scene. Ranging from house and electronica to classical music, Lisbon offers a host of bars, clubs and even Fado houses where you can dance the night away.

ANDORRAS

andwiched between Spain and France is this tiny principality of Andorra, a landlocked, independent state located

in the Pyrenees in Southern Europe. Much of the country is rough and mountainous, surrounded by lofty peaks and valleys. Due to its high elevation, Andorra has severe winters with abundant snow, and with the sun shining all year round, it makes the perfect haven for ski enthusiasts. Despite its size – the 16th smallest country in the world by land and 11th smallest by population – Andorra has plenty to offer besides the snow and mountains: authentic mountain cuisine, an endless list of entertainment and leisure activities to choose from, tax-free shopping and the exciting nightlife.

If you think Andorra is nothing but skiing and shopping, think again.

MOROCCO

At first glance, Morocco seems to be a world away from Europe, though in reality, it is merely an hour’s ride on

the ferry from Spain. Located in Northern Africa, the Moroccan kingdom is a melting of diverse traditions and cultures, with traditional Islam as the main stronghold – a wholly unfamiliar territory for most visitors. Despite years under French and Spanish colonial rule, Morocco has persisted in retaining its own roots and culture as seen in the beautiful ancient medinas, whereas more modern cosmopolitan cities like Rabat and Casablanca comprise of a fascinating blend of the exotic and the familiar.

RabatThe product of a fertile exchange between the Arabo-Muslim past and Western modernism, this inscribed city encompasses the ‘new town’ conceived and built by the French Protectorate from 1912 to the 1930s

as well as older parts of the city that dates back to 12th century. Among its ancient architectural treasures, the Oudayas Kasbah is a place not to be missed, an ancient walled area where the red ochre fortified walls stand in stark contrast with the inner walls and houses furnished in Mediterranean white and blue trim.

CasablancaThe largest city and port in Morocco, Casablanca is considered the economic capital of Morocco and right at the heart of Moroccan business. Despite it being the most European out of all Moroccan cities, it is home to one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in the world, the Hassan II Mosque. Revel in the intricate Moorish architectural style similar to the Alhambra or the Mezquita in Spain, and don’t miss the chance to view the tallest minaret in the world where lasers shine a beam from the

top of the minaret at night to point the way towards Mecca.

The Ancient Medina of FezA visit to Morocco is never complete without an experience of its ancient city centres, replete with old buildings, structures and traditions that stretch back centuries, transporting you back in time to the past. The medina of Fez stands out particularly, as the imperial city that is one of the best-preserved old cities in the Arab world. The former capital of Morocco was founded in the 9th century, and contains numerous monumental structures – madrasas, fondouks, palaces, residences, mosques and fountains – that date from this period. Lose yourself in the narrow medieval lanes of history or delve right in and absorb the colourful noise and confusion of one of their bustling souks.

rague, the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic, is famous for its towers, winding streets and diverse

buildings and architecture, earning it the nickname ‘the City of a Hundred Spires’. The beauty and history of this city is unrivalled; the magnificent buildings of all kinds of architectural styles, picturesque bridges and footbridges over the river Vltava and historic gardens and parks dating all the way back to the Middle Ages – these are just some of the unique charms of Prague that has earned it a place in the UNESCO World Heritage Site List. If you’re feeling slightly overwhelmed and don’t know where to start, make sure you check out these three attractions that made it to our must-visit list.

Prague CastleYou can’t get away without spending at least a few hours exploring the Prague Castle, an important symbol of Czech Republic for more than a thousand years and the seat of past Czech rulers and later presidents. A massive complex that comprises of palaces, chapels, museums, galleries and gardens, including treasures like the Old Royal Palace and St. Vitus Cathedral, the castle is a festival of architectural styles ranging from 10th century Romanesque style to Gothic modifications in the 14th century as well as ongoing modern additions and makeovers. Don’t miss the St. Vitus Cathedral, a Gothic masterpiece with alluring Art Nouveau stained glass windows and historical scenes done in relief on the bronze door.

Charles BridgeAn inspiration for artists and poets alike, the oldest bridge in Prague has a silhouette that is majestic by day and romantic at night. Built in 1402 with fortified towers (Lesser Town Bridge Towers, Old Town Bridge Tower) at each end of the bridge that are major attractions in their own right, a stroll along the cobblestoned path lined with Baroque statues would leave you breathless with wonder We highly recommend an evening visit when the bridge is swathed in dusky purple light and a mystical atmosphere, or see the

Astronomical Clock on Old Town SquareVisit one of the world’s most fascinating clock tower, one of the greatest treasures of Prague for 600 years that was once considered one of the wonders of the world. The medieval Old Town Astronomical Clock is the only clock in the world that shows four different times, and is the last one to track Central European, Babylonian and Sidereal time. Make a point to camp in front of the clock tower before the clock strikes twelve every hour, prepare for an animated performance as the sides of the clock come alive – you’ll see a skeleton ringing a bell, a Turk shaking his head, a miser with a purse full of money, and Vanity looking in a mirror and a rooster crowing, before the sounding of the huge bell at the top of the tower to mark the end of the brief performance.
