Pythagoras
• Pythagoras is known for his teaching the equation a^2+b^2=c^2 a and b being the legs of a right angle triangle c being the hypotenuse.
• The Pythagorean Theorem was one of the earliest theorems known to ancient civilizations.
• Pythagoras founded the Pythagorean School of Mathematics in Cortona, a Greek seaport in Southern Italy.
• The Pythagorean Theorem states "The area of the square built upon the hypotenuse of a right triangle is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares upon the remaining sides."
Euclid
• Euclid was a professor that taught mathematics, science and geometry Alexandria in Egypt.
• Euclid's lived from 325 bce to around 265 bce. Einstein's famous E=MC^2 equation was the same as Pythagoras a^2+b^2=c^2.
• Euclid followed in the footsteps of Pythagoras.
• Euclid had a lot of books. Euclid most famous book was The Element which contained plane geometry, circles, number theory, irrational numbers and three dimensional geometry.
• Euclid was the father of geometry.
