CastoLab® Services - Specialized Repair Our mission is to provide the best solutions to wear problems. When customers do not have the resources, or do not want to undertake a difficult repair, Eutectic can offer CastoLab Services. A complete and comprehensive service for the maintenance of machine parts and major components subject to extensive service wear. Work can either be undertaken in our workshops or alternatively at the customer site. Based upon hundreds of successful applications approved by our clients across the globe, the CastoLab Services workshops can provide optimized solutions to combat specific wear in your VRM.

The division offers a highly organized inspection, mobilization, welding and thermal spray service covering a wide range of industrial applications. Extensive Experience with Vertical Roller Mill Repairs

In the ‘70s, vertical roller mills became increasingly dominant for grinding raw materials mainly for the cement and power generation industries. For many years Eutectic expert’s knowledge and state-of-the-art technologies have been used to repair VRMs throughout the world, dramatically increasing their service life.

Eutectic has developed its own Vertical Roller Mill program, using highly skilled technicians trained on our specific VRM welding procedure, and unique, proven products.

Through years of experience maintaining mills, Eutectic has developed specialty products designed to combat the differ-ent types of wear present in all areas of the VRM:

CastoDur Diamond Plate® – CDP® welded wear plate is used to construct complex components or overlay large wear-prone areas in a VRM. Produced flat using a controlled cooling process, Eutectic’s CDP has the highest quality weld and optimal wear resistant properties. With the widest selection of wear plate on the market, Eutectic can provide the bestsolution to combat each type of wear – from complex chromium carbide for severe abrasive wear or titanium carbide for high impact to a 60% tungsten carbide plate for the most demanding erosion and corrosion applications. Invest in CDP plates that provide the best possible service life for your valuable equipment.

Proprietary EO8338 Open Arc Wire – field tested and proven for superior wear protection of VRM rolls and roller tables, Eutectic’s EO8338 is a specially developed complex chromium carbide wire used for the most demanding applications where high-stress abrasion is involved.
