Blogger
Blogger is a useful and
interactive site that makes
it easy to create a blog in
order to keep track of my
research, planning, production and
evaluation. It is very organised and flexible
which means you can embed and add a lot
of features such as
Prezi, Slideshare, images, videos, HTML
codes and others.
Prezi
Prezi is a site that allows people
to create interactive content and
share it throughout the internet on sites such as
blogger. It follows the pattern of basic slides with text
but has different and more engaging transitions
between them. Moreover it is more flexible than
programs such as powerpoint and has a has more
features such as setting a more appealing
background. I have used Prezi for posts such as “Pop
Rock Research” and “Similar Text” as it can separate
different categories, just like on a powerpoint, from
each other.
Slideshare
Slideshare allows people
to share their powerpoint
presentations, such as this
one, and embed it on sites such as blogger.
Using powerpoint I can make a simple slide
presentation separating different parts of the
question but at the same time make the
answer and blog look more engaging in
contrast to a boring block of text. Overall it is
a useful tool and I mainly used it to make the
research posts look more interactive.
Youtube
Youtube is a website that allows one to upload
videos such as the final music video or the
preliminary task and have the option to add
annotations to them. This is less interactive as
Prezi or Slideshare as it only plays a video without
any interactive features. However it may be more
engaging and it helps the blog have a wider
variety of content. Moreover I used youtube for
easy access to other music videos for and take
screen shots to help my project. Thanks to this site
I could demonstrate my work easier and faster as
it can be embedded and accessed almost
everywhere.
Google is a very useful website that let me find images and facts to support my research and planning. For example for this task I used google images to search for logo’s as well as many other tasks where I had to input images into slideshare or prezi. My digipack analysisis a good example of both as it uses images as well as I had to use google to find the facts about Avril Lavigne’s sales.
Tagxedo
Tagxedo is a useful site that allows one
to embed an interactive and engaging
word cloud onto the blog. It gives the
blog a wider variety of features to appeal
to the viewer. It is also useful for
brainstorming all the possible words that
are associated with the specific
genre, as shown in the Genre Research
task.
