In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge

forms and conventions of real media products?

I have tried to keep my rock magazine as conventional as I can, from most of the rock Magazines I have seen they all try to stay the same so that when you look at a certain Magazine in the shops you know straight away that is a rock magazine.

The layout of this magazine is a layout that most rock magazines us which makes the main picture stand out more.

I’d say my magazine isn’t that unconventional and sticks to the traditional roots of a rock magazine.

My Contents page isn’t as conventional as it could be but I still think that is sticks with the colour scheme which is important. Also, with the contents page in a rock magazine they tend to have a lot of gig pictures and pictures of bands, with small writing but my contents page focuses on organising the content page so it looks more professional.

The layout of my content page is mostly organised so that the text is sorted in to 3 three sections (Regulars, Stories and Gig Stuff) so it show the professionalism in my magazine.

I have decided to keep the same type of colour scheme as the previous slides so there is constant pattern all the way through the magazine.

The article is now only a small section of the page so the page is more focused on the main picture. This is very conventional to rock magazines so I thought it would be best to stick with the tradition of the rock magazines.

I Have decided to fill most of the page up with a big picture of the band so people can relate to the picture and the story, also the big picture is really eye catching. Also, there are some smaller picture of the band near the middle of the page to merge the two pages together and so it doesn’t look like just two pages.

How does your media product represent particular social group?

The target audience is mostly boys and girls who are into rock music and like reading about rock bands.

To get my magazine to connect with the audience I have wrote about a band that for the magazine is well know and used a splash and a tagline that shows that they are well know. This will interest the reader to buying it.

Also I have used colours such as red, black and white mostly so that the audience will know what magazine it is. Also, the colours will meant to something to the reader so that will connect them.

Also, I would like future to create an event which will increase the population interest in my magazine. Also, they would give away free products in my magazine monthly so more and more people become interested. The product that is given away would be something like a demo CD, posters, tickets or something that the customer will like and enjoy.
