WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS

PRODUCT?

For research and planning used my email to send some questionnaires. I have also used the internet to find out what are the convections of a magazines before creating my final product. As part of my planning stage I have used Photoshop to draw a digital flat plan of what my magazine could look like. I have also looking at magazines like Q to get some inspiration and design of what my magazine will look like.

For my production stages I have use Photoshop to create my magazine front cover, contents page and double page spread. As I do photography I am able to efficiently use Photoshop with no problems at all. For the images on the magazines I have use a Nikon 1 and a Canon DSLR camera during the photo-shoot; this gave a high quality photo for the production.

For my evaluation stage I have found multiple resources to evaluate this project. The technologies I have used for my evaluations are: Prezi, and slideshare.

WHICH TECHNOLOGIES HAVE YOU HAVE USED FOR YOUR RESEARCH, PLANNING, PRODUCTION AND

EVALUATION STAGES OF YOUR PRODUCT?

The internet is so vast with many information that we can easily get, I use it because I can get a broad view of what kind of magazine I want. Looking at multiple magazines and what things I have more knowledge on I’ve chosen indie/rock as the genre for my music magazine.

Using the internet I am able to easily access material without actually having to go to the shops. With it I am able to get ideas and design of my magazine.

Using the internet I will look up at convections of an indie/rock magazine which I could include in my magazine. For my production I use Photoshop because I have a good knowledge of it therefore I am able to easily create a magazine. I have use a DLSR camera because it gives high quality picture sand there are many settings where I am able to change it too to suit the situation. Using multiple of technologies for my evaluation has made easier and more creative to do instead of writing an essay that’s why it has been very useful for me.

These technologies have been useful as it has help me complete the task that was set for us to complete. The technologies that I have use has help me gain access to information and materials that is need to complete this task. It has also help me complete the task easily as I have the knowledge and information on how to use them. Using a DLSR camera was very useful as it will be able to take high quality pictures meaning I won’t have to edit the pictures to improve on it. Using multiple of these technologies for my evaluation stage was useful because I could evaluate my work in a more creative way so it won’t be as boring as reading an essay.

WHY HAVE THESE BEEN USEFUL?

During this period of time I have developed a few skills for example I have learnt the skills that was needed to create this magazines. Also I have learnt more about the planning and production for a magazine. These skills will help me in the future like my subject, photography. My skills in taking portraiture have improved a lot as I don’t usually shoot portraiture but more cityscapes and wildlife. There was some new skills I have developed in Photoshop for example I have never use he crop tool before, only the crop image tool. These skills I have learnt will definitely help me whenever I use Photoshop. Another skill I have developed is working as a team to support each other when your in need of help. Working as part of a team would mean that the task will be complete a lot quicker as two heads are better than one.

WHICH NEW SKILLS HAVE YOU DEVELOPED? HOW HAVE THESE BEEN HELPFUL?

To help further develop my skills I would need to have more in-depth knowledge of the technologies that I am using currently for this project; for example in Photoshop, getting more advance information would mean that my task of creating a music magazine would have been a lot easier to complete and would help the way the whole magazine would look.

To further improve on my photography skills would be having more practice when taking pictures. There are little room for improvements as I have quite a good knowledge on magazines and also I know how to use Photoshop meaning when creating the magazine I didn’t have to worry about what will this do?
