TRANSCRIPT

We tried to use the conventions of a boy band by having multiple shots of the boys acting silly together, having fun and making memories together as if they were really close friends. We also tried to keep it as lighthearted as possible.

We also tried to keep the conventions by having bright backgrounds for our lyrics, to keep it fun and silly

We also tried to stick to conventions by having 4 members of a boyband. We originally planned for five but one boy dropped out for personal reasons on the day of filming. Although this was a problem at the time it forced us to look at other boy bands to try and stay within the conventions of a boy band

We tried to develop the conventions of boy bands by taking the fun and silliness found between the boys and and extending it to the general public. This not only heightens the silliness, it also helps solidify the idea that these boys really are famous as the public are willing to interact with them

We also tried to use conventions by using famous london locations and iconic british landmarks and objects, such as big ben or the iconic red phone boxes

ConclusionFinally, I believe we have very successfully utilised the conventions of the pop genre and, although we didn’t really challenge the conventions of this genre, I feel that this added to the realism of the product and made our video more successful than it would have been if we had challenged these conventions
