In what way does your media product use , develop or challenge forms
and conventions of real media products?
Mise En Scene ± Mise en scene was
very crucial to my groups video as it is a
very important part to a crime/thriller genre.
We used crime tape to represent that there has
been a murder and to make it clear to the
audience. Also the location made it easy to filmbecause there is good street lighting that gave our
video a good effect , and the road is quiet so cars
and people rarely disturbed filming.

In what way does
your media product
use , develop or
challenge forms and
conventions of realmedia products?
The forensic suits
worn by Matiasand Peter gave
the impression
that both of them
were forensic
men.
The forensic
suits give the
impression that
the film is do
with crime scene
and investigation.

The shirt , tie and
trousers gave theimpression that Rhys wa
a detective. His
character¶s name is
detective ³Smith´.
In what way does your
media product use ,
develop or challenge
forms and conventions of
real media products?
We made Rhys to appear like a detective
from the film Da Vinci code we thought of this simply because it was the type of
character we wanted him to be like as the
genre of the film was a crime/thriller and
Tom Hanks come across as the perfect
character for this role.

Similarities to normal conventions
of a crime/thriller?
We used themes from TV dramas
like CSI and The Bill to get more
of an idea what a crime/thriller
should look like. The picture on
the left is from my film opening.

Similarities to normal conventions of a
crime/thriller?
In my groups
research we
researched a
film called
se7en and we
noticed theyactually put a
seven in there
title so I thought
it would be good
if we put a
hammer in toour title.

Lighting
We kept this part of the film in low
lighting because we wanted the
audience to be in more suspense andwondering who this character is. Also we
followed the conventions of a
crime/thriller by keeping the killers face
hidden , so it could give the audience
something to think about and to make a
decision on.
