In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Three incorporates the generic conventions that are included in every successful horror film. This is the opening scene and is what the audience will first see. Because our sequence is based on an old myth of the slender man we thought it would be clearer to understand. This is a convention you do not see very often because all of the Horror story lines that are created today are entirely fictional and are not based on any myth or real life story, this is a convention that could make our story line stand out from the rest.

When looking at this particular shot to your right you would think that the film you are about to watch is not a horror genre. This shot looks like it belongs in a film noir sequence.

This is an example of a typical horror convention. With the dark surroundings creating an uneasy atmosphere and then the focus being upon the red

numbers, the red numbers symbolising blood.

Here underneath is the character that our Slender Man is most

like. Jason the character from the Horror film “Halloween” wears a mask to hide his identity but we know that from his hockey stick and hockey mask his revenge is on the people who had something to do with his hockey career. Our character is an urban legend, not like Jason who is made up but is meant to be real. The similarities between the two characters are basically both of their costumes.
