distribute your media product and why?

Media Conglomerates that may distribute out film…

• An institution that may distribute our film would be warner bros as 2 of the crime films we looked at were distributed from their eg The Dark Knight and Prisoners

• Another media institution that would possibly distribute out film is columbia pictures as a lot of the films they distribute also follow the trend of the genre crime including 21 jump street, 22 jump street and The shawshank redemption.

Benefits…• If a major media company was to be interested in

distributing our film then people are more likely to watch it in cinemas as people trust well known companies and if they have picked to distribute our film people will trust that the film is good enough to watch.

• A media conglomerate is much more open to taking risks than an independent film company for example if they distribute our film and it isn't very successful this would effect a independent film company more than a major media conglomerate because they have many other very successful film that will be able to cover the cost of the money wasted on an unpopular film.

Independent film companies…• We believe it is more likely that our film would be

distributed but an independent film company instead of a media conglomerate. This is because independent film companies work on a much lower budget therefore there a higher chance they would distribute our film

• Since out media product was produced in the UK ‘The UK film council’ would be a good independent film company to distribute our film.

• Another benefit is that it will be shown is small in small independent cinema so there will be no competition between major film companies and independent film companies .
