Negativities

•Communications• Communication between each department was poor and became

quite stressful at times. For example Lucy the (DSM) could not communicate to Gemma the (SM) because she was always too busy to be on coms because of the lack of stage crew. This meant that when there was too much haze Lucy had to ask Julie to go down to tell Gemma to turn it down this meant that the efficiency of the crew was diminished. Also because of the lack of coms John (mics) could not communicate with backstage to say if the mics were working or not and if he could turn any on. This meant that there was inconsistencies with the mic transitions quality and efficiency. Solution: We could get more crew

Negativities•Seating Arrangements• There were many problems with the seating arrangements for example;• 1.Not enough seats around the tables, some people were sat on

additional seating that took away from the feel we were trying to create for the audience.

• 2.The chairs were uncomfortable ( they were blue plastic chairs) • 3.People could not see properly because the seats were all on one level.• Areas to consider for next time • 1. Limit tickets so we only sell the amount we can fit in the seating

area.• 2. We could consider using the brown chairs or if possible getting

different chairs.• 3.As it was only a musical and not a cabaret act we could have used the

tiered seating we used in We Will Rock You.

Negativities

•Refreshments• 1. People didn’t like that there was no wine• 2.Fizzy drinks on the last two nights but not the first.• 3.Not enough cordial to refill the jugs a second time.• 4. Ticket system was complicated as alcoholic tokens could not be

sold after the box office closed so when it came to the interval people could not buy more alcohol.

• Areas to consider for next time • 1. Provide wine• 2.Ensure that after every performance that we have enough

drinks for the next night and make sure they are with enough verity but consistent each night.

• 3. Make sure that we buy enough cordial for two lots or more.• 4. We could look into getting an alcohol licence.

Negativities

•Mics were very poor quality• 1.Even when plugged in, new batteries, turned on and all other

troubleshooting checks done they still didn’t work. • 2.Mic table was a mess.• 3. Performers were trying to put on mics themselves and ripping

them off in quick changes.• Areas to consider for next time • 1.If possible we could order new mics or get the ones we have

repaired.• 2. Performers and crew need to be told, ( in tech) to put mics

back in appropriate place and in a neat and tidy order. • 3. Performers need to be told by crew as early as possible that a

member of the crew need to put on the mics or they need to be trained to put them on as it is more difficult and delicate than it looks.

Quick Mic changes•During the run of the show the crew and cast

were very efficient and quick with their costume and mic changes. This was because the crew were always on hand to help with any of these changes and the mic crew were always ready with their cues to change the mics. If we did not have this it would significantly diminish the sharp look of the show and how quickly they could get on stage for their ques so there was no delays in the shows narrative.

Positives

•No major mistakes•During the tech and dress rehearsal there

were some particularly noticeable mistakes and problems with the sound, lighting and performers. However during the shows run all of these errors were fixed and the show ran very smoothly with everyone knowing their ques and all the sound and lighting was without fault and was to the highest quality possible.
