Why have you chosen your production company logo?

I have chosen my logo because it fits many aspects of the generic genre of horror, the colours used are a mixture of dark and light to stand out. The red represents blood and warning and the white text is so it stands out to the audience. The hand was included to make it look as if it was rising from the ground coming from a coffin or casket, almost like it is grabbing and grasping the audience. The name of the production company is “Untold Productions” the word “Untold” creates a mysterious and unknown atmosphere and makes the audience wonder what they are about to see. The font is very clear and readable so that the audience are able to see who produced the film.

What is a production company? What do they do?

The role of a production company is to organise everything that happens behind the scenes of the plans for films. They have the responsibility of raising the funds to make the film, these targets can be met from investors, parent companies, partners and various other places. They also have the important job of organising people to produce the scripts, storylines and scheduling of different projects. There is also many other roles to recruit people to star in the films and to complete production and post-production management to a certain project.

Which film distributor would you choose for your film and why? What other films have they distributed that are similar to your own?

To distribute my film, I would choose Universal Studios as they have a wide range of different horror films that are highly successful. They have also been around for a long time and hold a prestigious title within the modern day and past film industry.

They have produced the film “Ouija” which shares a resemblance with our film opening due to the convention of possession within the film that takes over people and turns them against people that they love.

How would your film be funded? Our film could be funded by the prestigious “National Lottery UK Film Council” they fund over £26,000,000 each year to up and coming film producers and developments within the United Kingdom. There wouldn’t be any financial struggling if the film was helped to be funded by the NLUFC. The company was founded in the year 2000 to help filmmakers who are unable to fund their own films or find a budget to fit them.

Why do you need titles? How have you presented them?

It is important to include titles within a film to credit the people who have carried out dedicated hard work to a film, whether they are on the screen acting or whether they are one of the many people who are behind the scenes helping to produce, direct, cast and a vast other amount of roles. Our titles last for around 4 seconds each and are displayed in the bottom left of different scenes, they fade away to create a more ghostly and haunting effect on the audience. It is simple but also effective at the same time as it is small and doesn’t take up a lot of the screen whilst other bits of the film opening pass by.
