In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions

of real media products?

My product is a metalcore magazine which challenges conventions because you don’t normally get a magazine for that genre of music but also follows the conventions of ordinary rock magazines.

My masthead is similar to kerrang’s with the main focus’ heads being over the masthead. Magazines do this because their brand is well known and you don’t need to see the whole masthead.
