EVALUATION QUESTION 6: WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE

PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

PhotoshopThe software I used to construct my magazine was Photoshop. I had never used Photoshop before so I had a lot of learning to do so I could construct my magazine in the best way. I learnt how to add images and edit the images I had took, how to work on different layers, how insert different texts, add shapes, change the opacity on my magazine to give it different effects and change the background colours.

SLR CameraI used a Cannon SLR camera to take pictures of my models. Again I had never used a camera like this before so I had to learn all the different components to make sure the camera worked to fit how I wanted my photos to look. Using a camera like this enabled me to get the best high quality photos to give my magazine a professional look.

PreziI used Prezi when carrying out some of my audience research and doing my evaluation. This was a good way of displaying my research and ideas I had on my magazine. I thought sometimes it could be a bit difficult to use but overall it was a good way of displaying my ideas.

Da-FontI used Da font when picking out my masthead and other fonts for my magazine. Da font is really good way of picking fonts because there’s so many to chose from and you can get fonts that will fit your genre of magazine specifically. All I had to do was pick the fonts I want, download them to my computer, install them and then open them up in photoshop.

TwitterI used twitter to help me get some audience research from people on my twitter that are of a similar age as me which was a great way to get accurate feedback. Twitter is quick and easy to use and allowed me to easily upload questions and images of my magazine to gain feedback from friends.

BloggerI have been using blogger since the begging of my media as course and this has been the place where I have documented everything I’ve done throughout researching, planning and making my magazine. I have embedded slideshares, prezis and ishowu’s, added pictures and text to document everything I’ve been doing. Blogger is quick and easy to use and I also downloaded the blogger app to my phone so I could even upload work on the go.

Flickr

Using Flickr allowed me to upload images of my magazine and annotate them for my evaluation. It was quick and easy to upload them and then I could easily embed the images to my blogger account so other people could access and have a look at my work.

SlideshareI have used Slideshare when doing my evaluation for my magazine. Slideshare was a good way for my to upload my presentations to the internet so I could embed it to my blog and everyone could access it.

MacI used a Mac doing all my media work when in class. Mac’s have helped me construct my magazine through photoshop and upload all my work through blogger. Also I had to upload the images I took on the SLR Camera to the Mac through iphoto in order to open them in photoshop and other devices.
