Evaluation Question 6
We first used blogger to upload our Brief on the 12th of October, which detailed what we were going to create. We then continued to use the site to upload what we had been doing and keep up to date with our work so everything was in one place. I had not used Blogger in the past, but I have used a similar website and managed to transfer what I learnt doing that onto this.
We used this site, British Film
Institute, to help us find statistics
for our target audience and help
us understand who we should
aim our film at.
We also used
Wikipedia to look at
the highest grossing
films of the past
couple of years to
help with our market
research and see
what sort of
comedy/action films
the public like.
I used YouTube to
upload my
Preliminary task
and our final piece
so I could then
embed them both
onto my blog.
I used ‘Prezi’ to create motion slideshows to present my work in more ways than on the default blogger set up and PowerPoint.
I used Microsoft
office in order to
create work to upload
to my blogger. We
used the tools on the
programs to create
things like tables for
the shooting
schedule and risk
assessment.
I used Slide Share to upload
word files and PowerPoint
files so I could then put
them on my blogger using
the embed code provided
by the site.
Bex used Photoshop to
create the production
company log, Bowman
studies. She had
previous use of the
program.
We used the Panasonic NV-GS500B to film our movie opening. We practised using the camera and the tripod for it during our Preliminary task, as well as learning how to use the different functions, and then transferred those skills onto the creation of our opening. During the preliminary task, I used one of the cameras and found it fairly straight forward, however I had to take into account of the whole scene and that’s where it got complicated. In the filming of our opening, Bex did all of the camera work as she felt most comfortable with it.
We used Sony Vegas pro to edit our clips into the movie opening. We used the many different tools of the program, cutting, changing and inserting sounds, speeding up scenes, creating freeze frames and turning the colour monochrome as well as flipping the entire scene so we don’t brake any of the rules. Kain did most of the editing as he had past experience, however I had also tried the program in the past and found it fairly easy and straight forward to use.
This shows where we
have edited the sound. It
shows two sound clips
and the arc shows that we
have altered the sound
itself. The video track shows
how we have placed loads
of clips to create our
opening. Along with the
bits that involve editing
above the video track.
Lighting: I found that when we where shooting the ‘interrogation’ scene, that the lighting is more complicated than I originally thought, we spent a while sorting it out so we could make it look dark while still having a good light so the audience could see what was happening.
Sound: Whenever we needed to record
sound, we used a boom mic, if a person was
not in frame then they held the boom
mic, and if not then we positioned the
boom mic in order to still capture the
sound. I found this fairly simple because of
our prelim task.
