Audience feed back is a great way of finding out exactly what people think of your product, which gives you a feel pf what the target market will say about it. There are a wide range of ways to collect audience feedback it just a matter of which one will suit your audience the best because you want them to be interested and engaged when you get there opinion on you product.

Audience feedback can come in a variety of different ways:• Questionnaires • Focus groups • Complaints • Asking someone in the street Are just a few ways of getting it. Personally, I used a questionnaire to evaluate my product because I left it to late to do any other form of research this left me at a disadvantage because I don’t have as wide a range of results as someone who as used all three methods.

Throughout this PowerPoint I will be breaking down the results of my audience feedback. The people questioned ranged from 15 to 61, that had a knowledge of media ranging from adequate to excellent, which will give a good range of results

Page 5: Evaluatuion question3

This was the questionnaire the participants were given

Q1- how conventional were the products?

Q2-Do you think the ancillary texts and main product worked well together?

Q3-Would you go to see the film?

Q4- what would you change about the three products

Page 6: Evaluatuion question3

• This first question was all about seeing how conventional the audience thought my product was. From the results I can see that the audience thinks that my products are conventional, which is what I wanted. Throughout this experience I have responded and acted upon audience feedback. An example of this is when I was guided into changing my main picture on my magazine front cover as the image I used originally lacked in conventions  relating to horror and also lacked in mise-en-scene.

95% of people that was surveyed said that my ancillary texts and main product worked well together. The percentage that disagreed with this have said that it is because of the trailer, the bit at the end where the actress screams, the opinion toward this was negative in saying that it makes the product look tacky and adds a comedic angle to it. This is something that I did want.

85% of the people I asked said that would go and see it, the 15% that said they wouldn't was down to personal choice and the fact that they don't like horror films altogether. This to me promising, as it shows that I have created a concept that interests people and one that could interest more people if it was released to a wider audience.

Which product they would change

From the chart in the previous chart you can see that most people would change the trailer, when asked most people said that this was because of the scream at the end as it makes it look tacky and more like a comedy than a horror. One person said “ you have a storyline that intrigues you and then she screams and you lose interest”. This tells me that if I was to do this again I would remove the scream bit and stick to something more conventional because the scream just comes out of know where

From my audience feed back I have learnt that overall the audience liked my products and there is very little that they would change in my products, this tells me that I have created  successful product.  I can relate Bulmer and Katz’s uses and gratifications theory to this question because by giving the audience a questionnaire it makes them an active audience. They are actively interacting with my product and giving me their opinions on it.
