Evaluation of my research methods with my graphics formats PowerPointSecondary Research Slides

When looking at this slide in particular it does look like it has detailed information regarding the type of raster graphics which is secondary research as I have provided some evidence of names such as Jpegs etc but I could have gone in more detailing exploring various formats.

However this was picked upon by tutor which I agree with is there isn’t excluding examples from the internet which showed an element I lacked from using secondary research method effectively .As I mainly used primary research i.e how made my Mixmag magazine to make my points be known which is okay but I needed more background information and evidence of file formats within the media industry through examples from the internet .

I did try further on within my slides show examples of where in the industry they would be used in the industry i.e vector graphics would be used in magazine. Yet I failed in any way to illustrate this on this slide as I was only showcasing pictures that didn’t have a media connotation which I partly to blame. This is because when looking back maybe I rushed this process and I should have spent more time on trying more secondary research to equal my primary research.

But was is important to understand was that we were under a certain time limit such the PowerPoint had to cover all subjects in 8 mins which restricted how much we could get through and when it came to delivery I feel like I may have rushed it down to nerves which impacted whether included enough secondary research data along with other factors such I feel on some slides I was able to understand them better meaning I could be confident to talk about them more whereas others were just short to the point without the relevant information i.e mainly metafiles slide and tiny part of vector.

What happened on the day within this particular slide of what metafiles is that I didn’t still fully understand what metafiles were because when I was doing my secondary research I got really confused and overthrown by the information. I attempted to try and cover metafiles the best I could which resulted with was using sparse information to illustrate my points which wasn’t effective as I missing out key parts but I have script detailing in depth information which I will evaluate later on within this section.

Primary Research Slides

The reason why I used primary research was to clearly illustrate how I had used digital graphics within my projects because I needed to illustrate how and when I used these formats as it would show I have learnt and understood the purpose for using them in within my Mixmag project, as each digital graphic played a pivotal role in making my magazine effective.

This was effective including primary research using my Mixmag front cover and double page article as I could freely obtain the information which didn’t lake too much time whereas secondary research did because it required patience as I was searching for information on the internet. Therefore I had to verify the information beforehand when inserting this within my PowerPoint presentation.

The disadvantage of using the primary research is that I spent ages illustrating how I used graphics within my work instead of exploring other evidence from the internet in same amount of detail. This shows that of you look at both slides I had more within own work explanation i.e in the vector graphics slide in which I showed how made my cd and record label .

Whereas on the slide on the first page what are graphics? there is sparse explanations and detail . So for next time I must equal my research methods primary and secondary to cover the subject successfully.

.I had difficulties with the slide metafiles as I didn’t know what it was and whether I had the right pictures backing up what metafiles was when trying to show this within my own work so I asked for help and chose the following pictures in the process and learnt it was Photoshop who carries metafiles in its structure.
