Ole! Ole Ole Ole!
The 2013/14 Indoor Soccer season has arrived and Evansdale is well represented with teams in 9 of the 14 Edmonton Minor Soccer Association age catego-ries.
The season officially began on October 19 and will continue through to February of 2014. Games will take place at various indoor facilities in Edmon-ton. If you’ve never been to an indoor soccer facility, the action is fast and furious and it is a great way to spend the day, weekend or just a couple of hours. All games for Evansdale will take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
As usual, this season would not be possible with-out our volunteer coaches. It is through their vision, hard work and dedication that our children get to experience “the beautiful game” . A special thanks to the following people for donating their time to our community.

Evansdale Facility Enhancement Project Underway!
At long last the Evansdale facility project is under-way. This year we are doing phase one including the construction of a new all-season sports facility that replaces our old ATCO trailer rink shack. The new facility will have a soccer storage room, skate change space, a concession, and a meeting room. This year
we are also replacing the old rink lights with new, modern LED rink lights that will save up to 60% on energy use. We are also very excited to be adding a 10kW Solar PV system to the main hall. The system will provide electricity to our hall and save us 50% of our electricity costs for the next 25-30 years. We are also installing two street lights in parking lot as well. It gets incredibly dark there, especially on the long winter nights. We saved $150,000 for this project, added in $125,000 from the Alberta CFEP program and $275,000 from the City of Edmonton’s CLIP pro-gram to fund phase one of the project. The last phases will be done next year when we replace the rink, all of the old asphalt and add in a ball hockey court and a basketball court next year in phase II of our project. Check out the construction pictures.
Sincerely, Jeff, Jim, Rudy, Dave and Shawna from the facility
enhancement committee.
