Beneficiary

Proceeds will help sustain the Young Texas Artists Music Competition (YTA) as a

brilliant cultural jewel for Montgomery County, and provide important career development not easily accessed

by deserving young musicians. An official music contest of the State of Texas, YTA is a

multi-disciplinary program open to classical artists, ages 18-30, who are Texas residents or enrolled in a

Texas music school. The four performance divisions are: Voice; Piano; Strings; and Winds, Brass, Percussion, Harp and Guitar.

At the finals each March, entrants compete for cash prizes, performance and professional development opportunities in the year round program. Judges are distinguished artists from such venerable institutions as The Metropolitan Opera, Manhattan School of Music,

Lyric Opera of Chicago, Round Top Music Festival, and The Juilliard School.

Over the years, YTA has helped produce scores of distinguished professionals who have joined major companies, performing nationally

and internationally. YTA is a program of the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
