Perpetual Adoration Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament has been part of the Church’s tradition since the 6th century. The Adoration Chapel here at St. Thomas More was built for parishioners and others to have quiet a place to pray and adore the Lord in His Eu-charistic presence. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Prayer Line The Prayer Line Ministry takes requests from the public for immediate and urgent prayers. These requests are communicated to prayer volunteers in a matter of minutes. Anyone with a telephone and a few minutes of time can help. If you feel called to pray for others, please sign up for this very simple and life-giving ministry. Bereavement Ministry This incredible ministry provides spiritual, physical and moral support to families experiencing the loss of a loved one. Volunteers assist on the day of the funeral in the church as altar servers, Eucha-ristic ministers, sacristans, and hospitality minis-ters. If you feel called to walk with our parishioners and extended family that have lost a loved one please share your time, heart and compassion with the Bereavement Ministry. Partnership Food Delivery The St. Thomas More Partnership Food Delivery Ministry volunteers transport the non-perishable food items donated by the parishioners on the third Sunday of each month. Volunteers are needed to help deliver the food to the St. Paul’s Center Food Bank on the Wednesday morning that follows the food collection.

HOUSEHOLDS IN GOD'S SERVICE In the ancient world, "household" was a wide-reaching concept. When Joshua today speaks of his household serving

the Lord, he meant not just those people who lived inside his walls or those related to him by blood or marriage; he meant slaves or servants and their families, and anyone indebted to him in any way. Even his livestock and other posses-sions would be consecrated to service of God. In our world, we value allowing individuals their freedom to choose how they live, and wouldn't think of offering our pets to the service of God. But, as we discern our vocation as disciples bap-tized into Christ, we can come to realize how far-ranging the "households" of our lives still are: how we act toward our spouses, children, roommates or anyone we live with; our behavior with neighbors; or in public as we encounter many "strangers" every day in stores or traffic who suddenly are "next door" to us. How can we use our time, our resources, or gifts for selfless reasons rather than personal gain? No matter what life our witness to the Good News calls us to, we all have a "household" that must be consecrated to service of the Lord our God.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON IMMIGRATION The Racial Harmony Commission invites you to a panel discussion on Immigration: Finding Christ in the Immi-grant: Immigration and the Creation of a More Diverse Society on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tracy Cen-ter. The purpose of the evening is to give participants an overview of the current state of immigration policy and its impact on families and individuals; critique it through the lenses of Scripture, Catholic Social Teaching and social sciences; and explore actions that will give a Christian wit-ness. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
