He emphasized on the fact that we all have potential and with good morals, good ethics and hard work,

he motivated the future citizens to achieve high in life.

THINK BIG was his mantra as it will facilitate us to gain an opinion on anything and everything on the

earth whether it is big or small. Once we gain the right perspective and empower ourselves with

education we will learn that we matter, and it will help us gain self esteem, which, he believes, is the

    most important thing.

The session also included a video of his journey along with his crew and their survival story as they sailed

close to the winds. It included many pictures and enlightened the students about ways to survive at sea.

His book Beyond Horizons: Around the World in a Sailing Boat can inspire each one of us to dream high

and finally achieve it. After a brief Question and Answer session, he concluded with a message for the

    students-

Its never too early to dream .

The session exposed the RVS students to real life experiences from someone who has been there and

done that. The talk made an impact on our students as they pledged to dream high and finally achieve it.

    Inter House English Declamation Contest

Fine declamation does not consist in flowery periods, delicate allusions of musical cadences, but in a

plain, open, loose style, where the periods are long and obvious, where the same thought is often

exhibited in several points of view.

    Oliver Goldsmith

Ridge Valley School organised an Inter House Declamation competition on the 22nd

    of July 2017.The

programme commenced with the Principal Mrs. Guneet Ohri addressing the students with her welcoming

and inspiring words laying stress on the importance of such events in providing awareness, improving

communication skills and confidence amongst the students.

four houses. Students brought alive Caesar, Martin Luther King, Malala, Steve Jobs and many other

    revolutionary orators.

The occasion was graced by Ms. Radhika Chand, an eminent educationist and literary enthusiast.

Visit to the Galleria Post Office

Letter writing can be seen as a gift because someone has taken his/her time to write and think and ex-press love. Soraya Diase Coffelt Children of Grade 2 were brimming with excitement since the beginning of the topic The Letter in which

they learnt how to write an address on an envelope and the reasons for writing letters to their loved ones

in the yesteryears when internet and phones were nonexistent

To conclude the topic, the children were encouraged to write letters to their friends or family members

and were taken to post the same at the Galleria Post Office. The Postman at the office demonstrated the

entire process of opening a Post Box , taking out the letters and then carrying them on his vehicle to deliv-

er them to the recipient. Children even learned the value of a stamp on an envelope. Children were en-

couraged to continue to write letters after being introduced to the concept. The passion that was seen in

the children to post their letters and wait for them to be delivered was a very nostalgic experience for the

teachers and the parents as well.
