Major Events

Classical & Light musicThe team has to perform songs from classical music and light music categories. There has to be at least one

solo and one group performance all together, the team is allowed to do more songs. Extra 20 points will be

provided for Best Vocalist and Best Instrumentalist. No instruments will be provided.

Time : 11.30am to 1.00pm

Time Allotted : 15 minutes + 2 extra minutes

Participation : Minimum – 10, Maximum – 20

Criteria for Judgment : Presentation, Selection of song, Harmony

Western musicThe team has to perform western songs. There has to be at least one solo and one group performance, the

team is allowed to perform more songs. Extra 20 points will be awarded for the Best Vocalist and Best

Instrumentalist. No instruments will be provided.

Car designingThe participant will have to design a car based on certain regulations for a specific purpose.

Only minimal attention will be paid to the technical and engineering details. The design will be

have to be hand rendered. Only paper will be provided.

Time : 1.00pm to 2.30pm

Participation : 2 per team, Minimum of 2 teams per college

Know your carParticipants will take part in a quiz regarding details about automobiles.



Junk artA pile of junk will be provided to the participants who will have to pick the necessary materials

and create a product based on a provided theme.

Theme based photographyParticipants will have to take pictures based on a given theme and submit it before 3.00 pm in a hard copy.

Misuse of the camera will result in the disqualification of the entire college. The camera to be used will have to

be tagged before the commencement of the event.


Participation : Minimum 2 participants per college

Criteria for Judgment : Presentation, Relevance to the theme

Cooking without fireThe participants will have to make a dish without the use of fire or any electric or electronic equipment. Partici-

pants will have to bring all the materials.


Participation : 2 per team, Minimum 2 participants per college

Story writingThe participant will have to write a story evolving from a given line or topic.



Eat-o-maniaThe student will have to finish eating the given food item/s within a specific time period.



Budget Management (Convince the judge to fund your business)

The participant will have to convince a panel of judges to fund his/her business. This will be like an interview

and the participants will be expected to bring mock documents, supporting their business ideas. No mock legal

documents will be required.



Science QuizThe participants will be tested on scientific questions from the fields of Botany, Zoology, Physics

and Chemistry.


Participation : 4 per team, Minimum 2 teams per college

Workshops

A series of interesting workshops will be conducted for students to educate them about several forms of

cultural art. Colleges should register their students by the 15th of December 2010. The workshops will not be

for more than 45 minutes and students who attend the various workshops will be provided with the

respective certificates.

PuppetryA workshop demonstrating the art of puppetry will be conducted for students by an expert from the field.

Tie & DyeTie and dye experts will be teaching students the process of creating tie-and-dye fabric. Participants will have

to bring with them 2 mts of white cotton cloth, 3 hand kerchiefs or a dhupatta.

Basic theatreA talk about basic theatre will be followed by training on theatre skills. A director will be invited to interact with

the students.

Herbal TherapyAn expert herbal therapist will give a small talk and demonstration of herbal therapy. Certain herbal recipes for

facials will be taught and demonstrated. Students can also purchase products from the therapist.

Seminars

Classical & light musicA talk on Classical and light music will accompany the respective competition by a professional from the field.

The students will be permitted to interact with the personality.

Contemporary DanceA trained dancer will be illustrating aspects of contemporary dance forms and its attributes.

DanceThe team is required to perform a classical dance, western dance and folk dance, either as a combination or

individually. There has to be at least one solo performance, one duet performance and one group perfor-

mance altogether. Extra 20 points will be awarded for the best solo performance and best duet performance.

The team will be marked as a whole and the prize will be awarded accordingly. Music has to be provided in a

labeled CD in an MP3 format at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.

Time : 12.00 pm to 01.45 pm

Time/team : 15 minutes + 2 extra minutes


Criteria for Judgment : Co-ordination, presentation, props and style

Ethnic showThe team must pick a particular country, area or region and bring out the costumes and music of that particular

region. The team is also allowed to bring out ethnic costumes from various parts of the world. Music has to be

provided in a labeled CD in an MP3 format at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the event.


Time/Team : 10 minutes + 2 extra minutes

Participation : Minimum- 8, Maximum- 15

MimeA team has to pick a theme or concept and enact it without speaking. Back ground music has to strictly be

instrumental and has to be provided in a labeled CD in an MP3 format at least 30 minutes prior to the start

of the event.

Participation : Minimum- 5, Maximum- 10

Minor Events

JAMJAM is an individual event. The event is a test of wit, vocabulary, creativity and points will be

awarded accordingly.

Pic tab dum wordThe event is a combination of Pictionary, Taboo, Dumb Charades and Guess who.


Participation : 3 per team, Minimum – 2 teams per college

PoetryThe participant will have to write a poem based on the topic. The topic will be given on the spot.



Short filmThe participant must create a short film of 5 minutes on the topic “---”.

The film must be presented on the day of the event in a labeled CD in a --- format.



Quiz & CrosswordParticipants will have to solve a brain teasing Crossword and a Quiz.

Rs.100 challengeThe Rs.100 challenge is an event where the participants will be given Rs.100 at the time of registration of the

first event. The participants are required to make a profit through the day and submit a report with the

procedure and amount of the profit made by 3.00 pm.



Kite makingIt is an individual event. Participants are expected to make creative, fun, happy, interesting kites. All materials

should be brought by the participants. The kite need not fly.
