With Adam and Eve … Gen1:28  28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be

fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.“

With Abraham … Gen 12:1-3 1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your

country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.  2 "I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.  3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you."

God’s Promise to Abraham

The promise is tied to the purpose Promise – “I will bless you” Purpose – “You will be a blessing to others”

Through your seed everyone will be blessed

Tell us what we are to do – Matthew 28:16-20 16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to

the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Background text ~~ Mark 5:21-43 21When Jesus had again crossed over by boat to

the other side of the lake, a large crowd gathered around him while he was by the lake. 22Then one of the synagogue rulers, named Jairus, came there. Seeing Jesus, he fell at his feet 23and pleaded earnestly with him, "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.“

God evangelizes through a storm Personal encounter Relational encounter

Worship goes before the request Worship … Jairus, came there. Seeing

Jesus, he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him.

Request … "My little daughter is dying. Please come and put your hands on her so that she will be healed and live.“

The Relationship comes…

Sometimes God Saves people when they piggyback on your praise 25And a woman was there who had been subject to

bleeding for twelve years. 26She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. 27When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, 28because she thought, "If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed." 29Immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering.

Jairus prayer was for his daughter. Through Jairus request, the woman was healed.

•Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly…

•…he put them all out

Remove the

unbelievers

•he took the child's father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was.

Heal the family

•He took her by the hand and said to her, "Talitha koum!" (which means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!" ). 42Immediately the girl stood up and walked around . At this they were completely astonished.

Answer prayer

While Jesus was still speaking, some men came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue ruler. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher any more?"  36Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, "Don't be afraid; just believe."
