During Kingdom College, Pastor Forbes has been dealing with the importance of “Renewing Your Mind” Romans 12:2. This realization is central to being an effective Christian and a Breakthrough Believer. Why? Choices are made in the mind, and the mind is a part of your soul. The soul contains our thoughts, will, emotions, and memories. In the soul we comprise the way we think and feel. So then, our thoughts and feelings start to shape our attitude. Our attitude then determines our belief system, which you can also label your worldview. Our worldview determines how we deal with life. For instance, our views affect how we vote, how we handle money, pressures and responsibilities. Further it affects our attitudes about race, politics and relationships. In these few exam-ples…

DO YOUR VIEWS MATCH GOD’S VIEWS? Our choices shape our life, and we want a life that reflects Christ. God has given us the ability to choose. The first opportunity for man to choose was in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:8-9; 15-17 and Genesis 3:1-7). Because of the choice Adam and his wife made, man was separated from God. Another example of choice: Before Joshua and the Israelites go into the promise land, God implores them to “Choose Life…” (Deuteronomy 30:19). The blessing God provided to the children of Israel had to be chosen, which is an act of your mind. Most importantly is the choice of Salvation. God said in His word that “… If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified...” (Romans 10:9-10) In order to “Believe in your heart” (where your spirit and soul merges together), you have to have an awareness or an understanding. This starts in the mind. This is why it is so very important that your mind be renewed - transformed into a new way of thinking and understand-ing. The Word of God is what renews your mind. It is reading, studying and HEARING the word (Romans 10:17) that transforms your thinking. Once your thinking changes, your choices and actions will change. Once your actions change, then you will have different results in life. A renewed mind focuses on the things of God. It is a master key to flowing with and in God’s agenda.

Chandra Campbell has been a member of C.C.C. since 1996. She serves faithfully in the Bookstore, and her passion for the Bookstore is demonstrated by her consistency in service. She jumps in wherever needed without being asked. She walks in what she is taught and un-derstands the hearts of our visionaries Drs. David and Tracy Forbes. Chandra has been a part of the Bookstore for 14 years. She knows the importance of this team to the overall vision of the ministry. She be-came known as “the General” many years ago because of her work ethic and her diligence. As an integral part of the team, Chandra helps with training new partners that join the Bookstore team. Without a doubt, Chandra is truly a blessing to the Bookstore and C.C.C. Thank you for your diligence and commitment Chandra!

“All Hands on Deck!”

During a recent meeting for the Imaging & Messaging ministry, our coordinator challenged each member to re-view each function of our team, and to “find” areas where we can assist. Further, she stated that we would need to have, “All Hands on Deck!” in order to push the vision of our Man of God, Pastor David C. Forbes, Jr. Before the meeting, I had the mindset that I was coming to share the magazine’s role within the ministry. How-ever, that was not God’s plan. God needs your hands, your time and your gift to make a ministry come alive. Matthew 9:37 clearly states the work is plenty, but the laborers are few. Willing and committed people are needed to help support the vision of our church. Yes, we have people that are currently working in various areas of this house, how-‐ever…

There is room for you! After a little research, I found that ministries that place a great deal of emphasis on membership participation have massive impact. The members are in covenant with God. They have become partners that carry out the vision

God has in their assigned ministry. The partners have a solid understanding of the work of the Kingdom.

A partner is committed to getting the Lord’s work done through the vision of their local body. Psalm 92:13 states those planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish. Through your service within C.C.C., your life will flourish. We have many great opportunities to help God reach other people through our service.

All hands on deck means that you are willing to yield what you have (in the form of availability) to help Increase Lives with the Word of God. Launches New Program for Entrepreneurs

INCREASE CDC plans to offer a six-month program called LaunchPad in the spring of 2013. LaunchPad is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the critical support they need after completing the planning phase of their business. This program includes a comprehensive agenda that present entrepreneurs with the crucial steps they need to take after completing the planning phase. LaunchPad was designed to address the myriad of challenges micro business owners face when trying to start their business. Program participants benefit from long-term coaching to overcome the barriers prevent-ing them from launching. Additionally, program participants develop advanced business skills, receive peer advice/sup-port, and gain direct action plans that lead the way to launching. The perfect candidate for LaunchPad is any startup entrepreneur conducting business in Central Ohio who has already written his/her business plan. Program components include: Coaching, CEO Training, Monthly Roundups, Business Status Updates, and a Launch Party. LaunchPad will be offered twice yearly. The first cycle starts spring 2013, and the second one begins in the Fall of 2013. The cost of the program is $675 per person. Program participants can make payment arrange-ments up until the start of the cycle, and participants who are applying for a loan can include their tuition cost in their loan amount. Altar Care By DeShawne Ewell

Each month, we look forward to highlighting a different area of Helps Ministries. This month the ministry spot-light is on Altar Care. Let’s look at how this team plays a supporting role to the ministry, and how it is an ex-tension of our visionary Dr. David C. Forbes, Jr. At each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening en-counter, Dr. Forbes gives an invitation for salvation, rededication, church membership and receiving the bap-tism of the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Altar Call. Great significance is placed on the Altar Call because the altar is a marker. In the Old Testament people would build an altar to God as a reminder and a memo-rial of God’s work in their lives. Today, it is used in the church to signify that a person is bringing his or her life, or the issues of life to the Lord Jesus Christ. An exchange also takes place as people leave their cares and the burdens of this world on the altar. The altar is where they begin a new life in God. Whatever the need,

the altar is offered as the “table of the Lord” where spiri-tual food can be found “The altar is a place where faith is ignited, ” describes one of the most enthusiastic and dedi-cated members of the Altar Care Ministry, Sister Gerri Childs. “The Altar Care Ministry is for those who simply have a heart for the lost. As I see people grow in their relationship with God, it warms my heart that their lives are being restored.” With loving kindness the Altar Care workers ensure that people understand - no matter what has happened in their life, God has been right there waiting to pour His love out on them. “It is a privilege to be one of the people to extend God’s love, and to encourage these precious people as they start their Never Fail Life journey.” Interested in joining this team? July 26, 1994 The message of Money Cometh to the Body of Christ was birthed out of divine revelation. Dr. Thompson shares of the day he was standing in the checkout line at the grocery store. “There was a gentleman in front of me paying for his purchase. The man turned to me and said, ‘Money goes, Money really goes, it’ll leave you. Money goes.’ I an-swered, ‘Yeah’, not knowing that my response to the stranger would activate the Spirit of God. When I got in my car, God was in the car. The Lord said, ‘What did you say in that store?’ I said, “Lord, I repent in Jesus Name!’ Then out of my heart I heard these two words…’Money Cometh’.” Dr. Thompson has done numerous “Money Cometh to You” conferences teaching others how to come out of debt and lack into a life of abundance and prosperity. Today, Dr. Thompson is living proof that people can live on God’s sys-tem of prosperity. The very first edition of the book Money Cometh was released in 1996, and is a highly recom-mended read for financial deliverance! Psalm 35:27 “Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause; yea let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.”

Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life, and have it more abundantly” John 10:10. Although we are promised a fulfilling life here on earth, there are still Christians who are not experiencing it. Some Christians are still slaves to the same old fears, temptations, and sins of life. This type of living is similar to the fitness guru who walks, but walks only on a treadmill. Yes, a lot of energy is exerted; how-ever, he never actually gets anywhere. Thank God there’s a wonderful solution to living life on the spiritual treadmill. Seeking after God through His Word renews the mind. This is great news! When we entrench ourselves in God’s Word, it changes our way of thinking. It aligns our thoughts and our actions to be perfectly parallel with God’s will. When we renew our mind, we purposefully commit our way of thinking to match God’s way of thinking. Simply put, a renewed mind means to have the mind of Christ, and YES, it is possible to have the thoughts

of God. Paul, by the Holy Spirit, boldly attested to this when he said in 1 Corinthians 2:16 that “we have the mind of Christ.” Another good point to ponder is as our mind is re-newed, then our life is renewed. When our thinking is right, then our life will be right - Hallelujah! “There is only one way to renew your mind, and that is by the Word of God!” Reading, hearing, speaking, and meditating on God’s truths transforms our thinking, which leads to abun-dant life. Christians who find themselves on the spiritual treadmill can rejoice because a new type of life is pos-sible. The only requirement for conquering habitual fears, temptations, and sins is to renew the mind with the Word of God and yield to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

MIND LEADS to a renewed life


I started attending Columbus Christian Center during November of 2005, and decided to become a member during the Summer of 2006. In 2007, I began to serve as a part of the youth ministry, and about 6 months later I was given the honor of joining the usher ministry. I’ve also had the pleasure of working with leaders in the capacity of event planning and organization. I’ve been blessed in every area of my life since I became a partner of the ministry! The greatest strides of growth in my relationship with God were made after I was enlisted into the soldiery of C.C.C.! The teaching and impartation of Pastor Forbes has equipped me to walk in full honor. I have become a more honorable son, a better brother to my siblings, and a shining example of inspiration for my whole family. Columbus Christian Center is a place like no other; it is definitely a God-centered church! The Holy Spirit is given free reign, the atmosphere is amazing and don't get me started on the word that is preached -- sweeter than maple syrup!!! We're in an apostolic flow that is positioning us to do big things for the Kingdom. Regardless of your past experiences in other places of worship, whether it be positive or negative, C.C.C. is a church you can come home to. We're all about the culture of honor, which includes embracing and loving people past their im-perfections. We're growing and going places, and we'd love for you to join us! I thank and honor my pastor, Dr. Forbes, for yield-ing to the vision that God has placed on his heart for this church. He has impacted so many people's lives because of his obedience! I also thank other leaders for being an excellent example for myself and others in ministry. Don't get it twisted, though: God's not finished with me yet! "The best is yet to come!!!!"

During my NFL playing career (2007-11), I occasion-ally attended Sunday encounters at C.C.C. when I was in town. However, I officially joined the body of Columbus Christian Center Church on January 1, 2012. Currently I have the honor of serving on the Men’s Core Team and the Imaging and Messaging Team. Additionally, I also have the privilege of serv-ing as the lead for the Back to School Blast. Being a partner of the ministry has enhanced my life, and increased my leadership abilities through the various friendships I have developed with other lead-ers and members of C.C.C. These relationships have been a blessing to my life. When you serve together, you grow together, and I have continued to grow in this ministry. What I want others to know about my church is that C.C.C. is a ministry that is passionate about the Kingdom, and installing God's government in the earth! We are focused on impacting our community for Christ through various outreach opportunities and partnerships. The goal is for the good news of the Gospel to be spread throughout the city (espe-cially 43219)! You will not find a more giving and caring man than our Pastor, David C. Forbes Jr. He lives by God's way ...THE SEED. Therefore, we (C.C.C.) live by the seed! WE (C.C.C.) will never be broke another day in our lives! Money Cometh to us NOW! Why? Because God is our source and we (C.C.C.) sow!!!! Jesus saves! Jesus heals! Jesus delivers!

Spring is here! Time to embrace all that this special season has to offer. One of the best foods packed with vitamin C and antioxidants are strawberries! Strawberries can be used to make a very tasty spring dish. Enjoy this seasonal recipe.

Strawberry, Fennel and Orange Salad

Ingredients 2 navel oranges 8 ounces strawberries (about 16), hulled and quartered or halved 1 fennel bulb, thinly sliced lengthwise, some fronds reserved for garnish 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1/4 teaspoon coarse salt Coarsely ground black pepper 8 Boston or Bibb lettuce leaves Directions Zest one orange, and reserve zest (2 teaspoons). Cut peel and pith away from both oranges. Use a paring knife to cut out the seg-ments, letting them fall into a bowl, along with the juice. Add strawberries, sliced fennel, orange zest, and fennel fronds to the bowl of orange segments and toss together gently. Stir in the lemon juice and olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
