AsMA was saddened to learn of the death of Nathaniel EldquoNatrdquo Villaire who was a Fellow of AsMA and a Professor
Emeritus at the College of Aero-nautics at Florida Tech He earneda BS in MicrobiologyZoology atthe University of Georgia in 1962took the pulmonary physiologycourse at the School of AerospaceMedicine in 1969 and was qualifiedin hypobaric and hyperbaric physi-ology that same year He also grad-uated from the human life supporttraining course at the School ofAerospace Medicine in 1974 He
additionally held a Masterrsquos in Financial Management (1980)an EdS in Higher Education (1987) and an EdD also inHigher Education (1991) Dr Villaire was a military pilot from 1962 to 1968 retiringas a US Air Force Lieutenant Colonel having earned theBronze Star as a Vietnam veteran He then became Directorof Pulmonary Training at Ehrling-Bergquist RegionalHospital in Omaha NE and later became Director of LifeSupport Systems from 1970ndash1971 In 1971 he took a positionas Director of Hypobaric Physiology at Regional Hos-pitalLangley VA He then transferred to become Senior PlantManager of DoD Communications in Columbus MS in1975 He was promoted to Director of System Analysis in

1978 and then became Assistant Manager of DoD Commu-nications in 1980 in Hampton VA In 1981 he took a posi-tion as Instructor of Human Sexuality Biology and Ecologyat Los Angeles Metropolitan College During that period healso was Senior US Air Traffic Liaison for the Republic ofKorea In 1982 he became DoD Director of Terminal Ap-proach and Landing Control Systems and in 1983 becameAdjunct Faculty at omas Nelson Community College andTidewater Community College In 1984 he took a position asScience and Math Teacher (and Coach) at Hampton RoadsAcademy in Virginia
