PART 1 GENERAL
1.1 CONTRACT CONDITIONS
A. Work of this Section is bound by the Contract Conditions and Division 1, bound
herewith, in addition to the Specification and accompanying Drawings
1.2 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01 30 00 - Administrative Requirements.
B. Product Data: Manufacturer's data sheets on each product to be used, including full
range of standard color selections.
C. Shop Drawings: Indicate materials, dimensions, tolerances, welding, fasteners,
hardware, mounting, finish, and accessories.
D. Quality Assurance Submittals:
1. Qualifications: Proof of manufacturer qualifications.
2. Manufacturer's Installation Instructions.
E. Selection Samples: Color charts illustrating full range of colors and patterns.
1.3 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Manufacturer Qualifications: Minimum five years experience in producing bicycle
racks of the types specified.
1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Store products in manufacturer’s unopened packaging until ready to install.
B. Handle parts with sufficient care to prevent scratches and other damage to the finish.
C. Materials delivered to the site shall be examined for concealed damage or defects in
shipping. Defects shall be noted and reported to the Owner's Representative in
writing.
1.5 PROJECT CONDITIONS
A. Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within
limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products
under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's absolute limits.
1.6 WARRANTY
A. Warranty: Manufacturer's standard warranty.
1. Seller warranties to replace, or at seller's option, repair any product or part
thereof which is found to be defective in material or workmanship for a period

of two years from date buyer accepts products. All parts and labor required
under warranty provisions shall be supplied free of charge.
2. Transportation costs of returning the products to and from repair facility or
costs involved with contractor personnel traveling to buyer's facility for the
purpose of repairing products on site shall be borne by seller during 2 year
warranty period.

1.1 EXAMINATION
A. Examine substrates upon which bicycle racks will be installed. Verify that surfaces
are clean, flat and level within manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances.
B. If preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of deviations
from manufacturer's recommended installation tolerances and conditions.
C. Do not proceed with installation until substrates have been properly prepared and
deviations are corrected.

B. Install bicycle racks level, plumb, square, accurately aligned, correctly located per
drawings, and without warp.
C. Mounting: Hardware and fasteners in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
1. For Surface Flange Mounted Bicycle Racks: Anchor bicycle racks
securely in place with 1/2 inch x 4 inch anchor bolts through flange holes.
1.3 CLEANING AND PROTECTION
A. Clean in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations.
B. Protect installed products until completion of project.
C. Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products and finishes in accordance with
manufacturer's instructions before Substantial Completion.

B. Product Data: Submit manufacturer’s product data, including installation instructions.
C. Shop Drawings: Submit manufacturer’s shop drawings, including plans, elevations,
sections, and details, indicating dimensions, tolerances, materials, components,
hardware, finish, options, and accessories. Shop Drawings to show required blocking
by others.
D. Samples: Submit manufacturer’s samples of the following sliding door components:
1. Door veneer or laminate sample.
2. Aluminum Frame finish sample.
E. Manufacturer’s Certification: Submit manufacturer’s certification that materials
comply with specified requirements and are suitable for intended application.
F. Warranty Documentation: Submit manufacturer’s standard warranty.
G. Test Reports: Submit acoustical reports or UL1784 as applicable.
1.05 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Product Options: Drawings indicate size, profiles, and dimensional requirements of
interior aluminum frames and doors.
B. Source: Obtain sliding aluminum framed doors and hardware from single source.
C. Manufacturer's Qualifications: Manufacturer regularly engaged for past 5 years in
manufacture of sliding doors similar to that specified.
1.06 PERFORMANCE
A. Aluminum perimeter frames with integral acoustic seals.
B. Soft self-closing mechanism integrated with top track.
C. Concealed door guide.
1.07 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Delivery and Acceptance Requirements: Deliver materials to site in manufacturer’s
original, unopened containers and packaging, with labels clearly identifying product
name and manufacturer.
B. Notify manufacturer immediately of any shipping damage.

PART 2 EXECUTION
1.10 EXAMINATION
A. Examine wall openings to receive sliding doors for plumb, level, and square. Note:
Finish door operation will be affected by out of tolerance framing.
B. Verify dimensions of wall openings.
C. Examine surfaces to receive top and bottom guide.
D. Notify Architect of conditions that would adversely affect installation or subsequent
use of sliding doors.
E. Do not begin installation until unacceptable conditions are corrected.
F. Base of door side to be flush or minimal. Rubber Base acceptable.
1.11 INSTALLATION
A. Install sliding doors in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions at locations
indicated on the Drawings.
B. Install sliding doors plumb, level, square, and in proper alignment.
C. Install sliding doors to close against walls without gaps.
D. Install sliding doors to open and close smoothly.
E. Anchor sliding doors securely in place to supports. Required: Fire treated 2 x 6
blocking required full length of track.

1.12 ADJUSTING
A. Adjust sliding doors for proper operation in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.
B. Adjust sliding doors to operate smoothly without binding.
C. Repair minor damages to finish in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and as
approved by Architect.
1.13 CLEANING
A. Clean sliding doors promptly after installation in accordance with manufacturer’s
instructions.
B. Do not use harsh cleaning materials or methods that could damage materials or finish.
1.14 PROTECTION
A. Protect installed sliding doors from damage during construction.
