Hardware Installation

a qualified computer technician. Damage to system components, the graphics card, and injury to yourself may result if power is applied during installation. Now that you have prepared your computer, you are ready to install your graphics card.

Quick Start

1. Power off the computer and all attached devices such as monitors, printers, and external components.

2. Disconnect the display cable from your current display adapter from the back of your computer.

3. Remove the cover of your computer case. In most cases this is held in place by several screws or

clips – you may need to consult your system manual or case manual for additional information.

4. Remove your existing graphics card (if you have one) from your computer. You will do this by

removing the retaining screw and gently rocking the card back and forth, applying upwards pressure.

(Please note: if your motherboard has integrated video, you may need to disable it on the motherboard.

Please contact your system or motherboard manufacturer for additional information).

5. Align your new card with the PCI-Express slot, the AGP™ slot or the PCI slot, as

appropriate, and press it in firmly until the card is fully seated. Make sure that the metal contacts of the

card are completely pushed into the expansion slot. Connect supplemental PCI-E power adapter(s) to

the card if applicable.

6. Replace the retaining screw to fasten the card into place and then replace the computer cover.

7. Reconnect any devices that you detached during installation and then connect the monitor’s video

cable to your new graphics card.

8. Apply power to your system and reboot.

Important InformationPCI and PCI-Express slots are different, so prior to installing a graphics card in to your system, please verify that the graphics card bus type and available slot are the same.

PCI-Express Graphics Cards: Insert the graphics card into the motherboard’s primary PCI-Express slot.

AGP Graphics Cards: Insert the graphics card into the AGP 2.0 or above compliant slot.

PCI Graphics Cards: Insert the graphics card into an available PCI 2.1 or above compliant slot.

If your card is equipped with a supplemental power adapter, we strongly advise that it be connected at the time of installation. This supplemental power adapter ensures that your graphics card receives a clean and strong power signal that will allow it to function at optimal performance levels. Your card may require one or two 6/8 pin PCI-E supplemental power connections.

Although the EVGA driver CD provides a simple solution for most installation situations, we still advise you to correctly prepare your system before installing any display drivers. Before installing any of our drivers, please make sure that you have uninstalled prior display drivers from the Windows Control Panel and have disabled any integrated graphics adapters in the Device Manager if necessary. (Disable anti-virus software during installation).

Software Installation

When you boot up your computer for the first time after installing your new graphics card, Windows will detect a new display device and attempt to search for the drivers. Please click cancel.

Installing the drivers for your new graphics card is made fast and simple through the use of the included EVGA driver installation CD. Insert the EVGA Installation CD and allow the autorun driver installation menu to start.

Note: If the autorun driver installation menu does not appear, it can be launched manually by choosing the Run command from the Windows Start Menu and entering: D:\autorun.exe (where D is the letter of your CD-ROM drive).

Once the autorun installation menu appears, select the “Install Video Drivers” button from the menu. This will start the driver installation process.

If you are prompted by the Microsoft WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) warning, please select the Continue/Install Anyway option, as it is safe to do so. See the examples below.

NVIDIA Control Panel™ Features:

The NVIDIA Control Panel allows you to configure a multi-display environment, whether it is through multiple computer monitors (either digital or analog) or by using a monitor in conjunction with a television set. The ability to use multiple displays within Windows can simplify many everyday tasks by spreading out the Windows Desktop area or by allowing you to watch a movie on your television. Multiple display configuration can be made in the “Set up multiple displays” subsection located in the Display section of the NVIDIA Control Panel.

Single ModeSelect just one checkbox for the monitor you wish to use as your single display. This will disable the secondary output and is the default setting if you only have one monitor connected to the graphics card.

Extended DesktopSelect two or more checkboxes to enable more than one monitor. Once checked, right click one of the monitors in the section below to select the desired mode . Extended desktop mode can independently control resolution, color depth, and refresh rate settings for each display. You may use up to two monitor outputs per compatible graphics card.

Duplicate DisplaysSelect two or more checkboxes to enable more than one monitor. You can now right click on the monitors in the section below to set them to duplicate display mode and select the primary monitor between them. A presenter may use the smaller monitor on the podium, while a projector monitor reflects the presentation to the audience. Duplicate displays requires identical resolutions between both displays.

SLI/PhysX ConfigurationThe NVIDIA Control Panel also provides configuration options for SLI (multiple display adapters) in the form of 2-way SLI, 3-way SLI, and Quad SLI. These options will be located under the 3D Settings section when two or three (requires compatible 3way SLI graphics card) matching Graphics Cards are installed. You may also enable PhysX for supporting games and designate which graphics card will handle PhysX processing. See example below.

NVIDIA Control Panel™ Features:

Configuring HDMI for Audio Output (Select Models only):

Connecting your HDTV via HDMI allows you to output both digital audio and video from your graphics card through a single cable. Connecting through intermediary devices such as hubs or receivers is not recommended.

If you are connecting to your display over HDMI and have attached the SPDIF cable for audio output (refer to the illustrations below for instructions on connecting the SPDIF cable), you need to set the SPDIF output to be your default audio device. The SPDIF cable may be connected to a SPDIF header on a motherboard or sound card.

Certain graphics cards with onboard HDMI ports may not require a SPDIF cable for audio output.

Regardless of whether you use a SPDIF cable or not to pass audio through the graphics card, you will need to configure the Windows sound output. Select Start, Control Panel, Sound. On the Playback tab, select the SPDIF/HDMI output device and select Set Default.

Windows XP may require additional driver support. Please consult your motherboard or sound card documentation for additional information.

Quick Fixes

Problem: When powering the system, all I hear is a loud and high-pitched squealing noise.

Cause: The graphics card is not receiving sufficient power required through the 6 pin PCI-E or 8 pin PCI-E power connections from the Power Supply Unit.

Solution: Verify whether your card requires additional power connections. Depending on the model, these are located at the back end of the card (opposite side of the DVI and VGA ports) or on the side of the card near the back end. Ensure that you have connected the appropriate 6 or 8 pin PCI-E supplementary power cables and are not using unapproved power adapter cables.

Problem: The computer will only display a black screen after it boots into Windows.

Cause: The integrated video adapter has not been disabled prior to installing the new PCI based graphics card and/or not having uninstalled the display drivers from your previous display adapter.

Solution: Ensure that the integrated video adapter has been disabled through your motherboard’s BIOS or the Win-dows Device Manager prior to installing the new graphics card and that you have uninstalled the drivers through the Windows Control Panel. After the new card has been installed, connect the monitor cable and if required, any supplemental power adapters to the new video before booting up the system.

Problem: At boot-up, all you hear is a series of beeps from the computer but see no screen at all.

Cause: The beep sounds are a warning sound from the motherboard BIOS that says that it cannot initialize the graphics card. This can mean one of 4 things:

1) The card is not seated correctly. 2) There is a problem with the motherboard’s graphics card slot. 3) Supplemental PCI-E power is not connected to the graphics card. 4) There is a problem with the graphics card.

Solution: Remove the card from the computer and reinsert it, making sure that the card is seated properly in the slot. Then try to boot the computer again. If this does not work then the problem is either with the motherboard or the graphics card and you should contact your hardware manufacturer for further assistance.

Quick Fixes (continued)

Problem: On systems with an integrated graphics chip, you get error messages and conflicts after you install your new graphics card.

Cause: Many systems with an integrated graphics chip need to have these adapters disabled before you can cor-rectly use an add-in graphics adapter. If they are not properly disabled, they will cause conflicts with the adapter that you are trying to install.

Solution: Disable any built-in graphics adapters through the Windows Device Manager prior to installing your new graphics card. For additional information relating to this issue, please consult your motherboard or system manual, or contact your system vendor or motherboard manufacturer to get detailed information on how to accomplish this for your particular system.

Problem: My card carries the support for TV-Out but cannot get a display on the TV.

Cause: The TV is not properly detected by Windows due to signal loss and/or is not enabled within the Display Control Panel.

Solution: There must be a direct connection from the TV to the graphics card through an RCA, S-Video cable or DVI cable connector. There cannot be any intermediary devices such as a VCR, receiver or switch box within the connection. Power on the TV before booting Windows and enable the TV-Out feature under Device Selection of the Display Control Panel.

Problem: Games lockup or crash to the desktop.

Solution: Verify that all the necessary hardware drivers are installed and up to date including the chipset, video and sound card drivers. Reinstall the latest version of DirectX or the faulty program itself. Also, verify the game has all the necessary patches installed that are available from the developer/manufacturer.

Problem: How do I enable the DVD playback feature?

Cause: The graphics card can output DVD’s in conjunction with a DVD hardware or software rendering application such as PowerDVD™ or WinDVD™.

Solution: Verify that the add-on hardware DVD decoder is compatible with the graphics card or that the DVD soft-ware rendering application is installed properly and/or updated.

Problem: My HTPC’s monitor’s sides are cut-off.

Cause: This problem is called “overscan” and some DLP / Plasma / LCD TVs have options to compensate for “overscan”. Please refer to your TVs mfg. or manual on whether or not you have this option.

Solution: Make sure you have the latest NVIDIA Forceware drivers for your graphics card and that your HTPC monitor is setup properly in the NVIDIA Control Panel. (Located under the Video & Television section)

composants. Si vous pensez ne pas pouvoir mener à bien cette installation, veuillez consulter un technicien informatique qualifié. Si vous remettez votre matériel sous tension durant le processus d’installation, les composants du système d’exploitation et la carte graphique peuvent être endommagés et vous pourriez également vous blesser. Une fois que vous avez pris toutes ces précautions, vous pouvez commencer à installer votre carte graphique.

Démarrage rapide

1. Mettre l’ordinateur et toutes ses périphériques (moniteurs, imprimantes, et composantes externes) hors tension.

2. Débranchez le câble moniteur de votre carte graphique actuelle à l’arrière de l’ordinateur.

3. Retirez le capot du boîtier de votre ordinateur (dans la plupart des cas, celui-ci est maintenu par plusieurs vis ou

clips). Pour ce faire, il se peut que vous ayez besoin d’informations complémentaires. Veuillez consulter le

manuel de votre système d’exploitation ou de votre boîtier.

4. Retirez votre carte graphique actuelle (si vous en avez une) de votre ordinateur. Pour cela, retirez la vis de

soutien et exercez un léger mouvement de va-et-vient sur la carte (de bas en haut). (Veuillez noter s.v.p. que

si votre carte mère possède une fonction vidéo intégrée, vous devez la désactiver. Veuillez contacter le fabricant

de votre système ou de votre carte mère pour toutes informations complémentaires.)

5. Placez convenablement votre nouvelle carte dans le slot (logement) approprié : soit PCI-Express, soit AGP, soit

PCI selon la carte, et y exercer une ferme pression jusqu’à ce qu’elle se soit totalement insérée. Assurez-vous

que les contacts métalliques de la carte soient bien placés dans le logement d’extension. Branchez les câbles

d’alimentation supplémentaires à la carte graphique le cas échéant.

6. Remettez la vis de maintien pour bien maintenir la carte en place et replacez le capot du boîtier.

7. Rebranchez tous les dispositifs que vous aviez préalablement débranchés durant le processus d’installation et

branchez le câble vidéo du moniteur sur votre nouvelle carte vidéo.

8. Remettez votre système sous tension et redémarrez le.

Information importanteLes logements PCI et PCI-Express sont différents. Aussi, avant d’installer toute carte vidéo dans votre système, assurez-vous que le bus de la carte vidéo correspond bien au logement disponible.

Cartes vidéo PCI-Express: insérer la carte graphique dans le logement PCI-Express primaire.

Cartes vidéo AGP: insérer la carte graphique dans le logement AGP 2.0 ou supérieur.

Cartes vidéo PCI: insérer la carte graphique dans le logement PCI 2.1 ou supérieur.

Si votre carte est équipée d’un connecteur électrique supplémentaire, nous vous recommandons fortement que ce dernier soit branché durant le processus d’installation initial. Cet adaptateur électrique supplémentaire émettra un signal électrique qui permettra à votre carte vidéo de fonctionner de manière optimale. Votre carte peut nécessiter 1 ou 2 câbles d’alimentation 6/8 pin PCI-E supplémentaire.

Bien que le CD d’installation des pilotes d’EVGA prévoit une solution simple pour la plupart des situations que vous pourriez rencontrer durant le processus d’installation, nous vous recommandons de bien préparer votre système d’exploitation avant d’installer tout pilote d’affichage. Lorsque vous redémarrez votre ordinateur pour la première fois après l’installation de votre nouvelle carte graphique, Windows détectera un nouveau dispositif d’affichage et tentera de rechercher les pilotes correspondants. Veuillez cliquer sur Annuler.

Grâce au CD d’installation EVGA, vous pourrez installer les pilotes de votre nouvelle carte graphique de manière simple et rapide. Insérez le CD d’installation EVGA et le menu relatif à l’installation du pilote automatique va apparaître à l’écran.

Remarque: Si le menu d’installation du pilote automatique n’apparaît pas, vous avez la possibilité de le lancer manuellement en sélectionnant la commande « Run » (Éxécution) dans la première page du menu de Windows et en entrant : « D:|autorun.exe » (D correspond à la lettre de votre lecteur CD-ROM).

Une fois que le menu d’installation automatique apparaît, sélectionnez le bouton « Install Video Drivers » (Installer les pilotes vidéo) dans le menu. Le processus d’installation du pilote va commencer.

Caractéristiques du panneau de configuration de NVIDIA™

Le panneau de configuration de NVIDIA vous permet de travailler dans un environnement multi-écrans, que ce soit par l’utilisation de plusieurs moniteurs (numériques ou analogues) ou en utilisant un moniteur conjointement avec un téléviseur. La possibilité d’utiliser un affichage multiple avec Windows peut simplifier la réalisation de vos tâches quotidiennes en répartissant la plage Bureau de Windows sur plusieurs supports d’affichage, ou en regardant un film sur votre télévision. Une configuration multi-écrans peut être mise en place dans la sous-section «multi-écrans » du panneau de configuration de NVIDIA.

Mode uniqueNe sélectionner que l’écran que vous souhaitez utiliser comme écran unique. Cela désactivera le second écran. C’est l’option par défaut si vous n’avez qu’un écran relié à la carte graphique.

Mode étendu Sélectionner deux écrans ou plus pour les activer. Clic-droit sur l’un des écrans pour sélectionner le mode désiré. Dans le mode étendu il est possible de contrôler indépendamment la résolution, l’intensité des couleurs et le taux de rafraîchissement pour chaque support d’affichage.

Mode cloneSélectionner deux écrans ou plus pour les activer. Clic-droit sur l’un des écrans pour sélectionner le mode désiré et décider quel sera l’écran principal (primaire). Dans ce mode, deux moniteurs affichent des images identiques, ce qui peut être très utile lors de présentations. En effet, un orateur peut utiliser un petit moniteur sur le podium, alors que la présentation est dévoilée au public à l’aide d’un projecteur.

Configuration SLI/PhysXLe panneau de configuration de NVIDIA propose également l’option SLI (adaptateur multi-écrans) sous la forme du 2-way, 3-way et du Quad- SLI. Ces options sont présentes dans la section Configuration 3D lorsque 2 ou 3 (cartes graphiques compatibles 3-way SLI) cartes graphiques sont installées. Vous pouvez également activer PhysX pour vos jeux vidéo et choisir quelle carte graphique sera attribuée pour le PhysX. Voir l’exemple ci-dessous.

Configuration de la sortie audio HDMI (selon modèle):

Lorsque vous connecter votre télévision HD avec HDMI à votre carte graphique, vous pouvez faire véhiculer une image numérique et le son via un seul câble. Le branchement à un hub ou un receveur n’est pas conseillé.

Lorsque vous connectez la carte graphique avec HDMI et le câble SPDIF pour le son, voir l’illustration ci-dessous pour bien relier le câble (soit à la carte mère, soit a la carte son dédiée)

Certaines cartes graphiques qui possèdent un connecteur HDMI transportent les données audio par le bus PCI-Express et ne doivent par conséquent pas être reliées par un câble SPDIF.

Que le son soit transporté avec ou sans câble, vous devez configurer Windows en mode SPDIF. Sélectionner Commencer – Gestion système – Son. Pour le rendu, choisir „SPDIF/HDMI“ par défaut.

Sous Windows XP, l’installation d’un pilote est nécessaire. Veuillez contacter votre fabricant de carte mère ou carte son pour de plus amples informations.

Identification des pannes

Problème: Lorsque le système s’initialise, je n’entends qu’un bruit aigu et très fort.

Cause: La carte graphique ne bénéficie pas d’une alimentation adéquate.

Solution: Vérifiez si votre carte a besoin d’une alimentation supplémentaire. Selon le modèle, des connecteurs sont placés soit au bout de la carte (côté opposé aux ports DVI et VGA), soit sur le côté de la carte près de l’extrémité de la carte. Assurez-vous que vous avez connecté les câbles d’alimentation 6 ou 8 pin supplémentaire appropriés. Assurez-vous que vous n’utilisez pas de câbles non certifiés.

Problème: Après le redémarrage de Windows, l’ordinateur n’affiche qu’un écran totalement noir.

Cause: Ce problème est souvent causé par la vidéo intégrée (de votre carte mère) qui n’a pas été désactivée lors de l’installation de la nouvelle carte vidéo PCI.

Solution: Assurez-vous que la vidéo intégrée a été désactivée avant l’installation de la nouvelle carte vidéo PCI. Une fois la nouvelle carte installée, rebranchez le câble moniteur à la nouvelle carte vidéo, branchez le(s) câble(s) d’alimentation supplémentaire si nécessaire, et redémarrez le système.

Problème: Lors du redémarrage, tout ce que vous entendez se limite à une série de bips provenant de l’ordinateur, mais vous ne voyez rien à l’écran.

Cause: Ce bruit est un signal d’avertissement émis par le BIOS de la carte mère et signifiant que la carte vidéo ne peut pas être initialisée. Cela peut provenir de quatre choses:

1) La carte n’est pas bien insérée.2) Il y a un problème au niveau du slot graphique de la carte mère.3) Le(s) câble(s) d’alimentation supplémentaire n’est (ne sont) pas connecté(s) à la carte graphique.4) Il y a un problème au niveau de la carte vidéo.

Solution: Retirez la carte de l’ordinateur et réinsérez-la en vous assurant que la carte est bien en place dans son logement. Puis redémarrer votre ordinateur. Si le problème persiste, c’est qu’il y a un problème au niveau de la carte mère ou de la carte vidéo. Dans ce cas, veuillez contacter le fabricant de votre matériel.

Problème: Sur des systèmes comprenant une puce graphique intégrée, des messages d’erreur et autres problèmes apparaissent après avoir installé votre nouvelle carte vidéo.

Cause: Pour beaucoup de systèmes comprenant une puce graphique intégrée, il faut désactiver cette vidéo intégrée avant de pouvoir utiliser correctement une carte graphique. La vidéo intégrée et votre nouvelle carte graphique tentent d’utiliser toutes les deux les ressources du système, ce qui crée des conflits.

Solution: Désactivez tout adaptateur graphique intégré avant d’installer votre nouvelle carte graphique. Pour toute information complémentaire à ce sujet, veuillez consulter le manuel de votre carte mère ou de votre système d’exploitation ou contacter le fabricant de votre matériel.

Identification des pannes (suite)

Problème: Ma carte comporte la fonction Sortie-TV (TV-Out) mais ne parvient pas à mettre un affichage en place sur le téléviseur.

Cause: Votre téléviseur n’a pas été correctement reconnu par Windows en raison d’une perte de signal et/ou n’a pas été correctement paramétré dans le panneau de configuration de l’affichage (Display Control Panel).

Solution: Il doit y avoir une connexion directe entre le téléviseur et la carte graphique par l’intermédiaire d’un RCA, d’un câble S-Vidéo ou d’un connecteur câble DVI. L’utilisation d’un intermédiaire entre les connections comme un VCR, un récepteur ou un commutateur (switch box) est impossible. Mettez votre téléviseur sous tension avant de démarrer Windows et activez la fonction « TV-Out » (Sortie-TV) sous « Device Selection » (Sélection du périphérique) dans le panneau de contrôle de l’affichage.

Problème: Les jeux se verrouillent ou plantent.

Solution: Vérifiez que tous les pilotes de votre matériel soient installés et actualisés, en particulier ceux de la carte graphique, de la carte son et du chipset. Réinstallez la dernière version de DirectX et, dans le doute, également le programme défaillant. Vérifiez aussi que tous les éléments mis à disposition (patch) ou fournis avec le jeu par le fabricant ou le concepteur soient installés.

Problème: Où puis-je trouver les tout derniers pilotes pour ma carte graphique?

Solution: Veuillez consulter http://www.evga.com/support/drivers

Problème: Comment activer la fonction « Playback » (lecture) d’un DVD?

Cause: La carte vidéo peut lire des DVD en conjonction avec un logiciel d’édition vidéo comme PowerDVDTM ou WinDVDTM.

Solution: Assurez-vous que le décodeur DVD d’appoint soit compatible avec la carte graphique ou que le logiciel d’édition pour DVD soit bien installé et/ou actualisé.

Problème: Les côtés de l’écran de mon PC Home Cinema (HTPC) sont tronqués.

Cause: Ce problème se nomme overscan et certains téléviseurs LCD/Plasma/DLP offrent une fonction de redimensionnement pour compenser l’overscan.

Solution: Assurez-vous d’avoir installé les derniers pilotes Forceware de NVIDIA et que votre écran HTPC soit bien installé dans le panneau de contrôle NVIDIA (section Vidéo et TV)

1. Apague la computadora y todos los dispositivos conectados, como monitores, impresoras, y los componentes

externos.

2. Desconecte el cable del monitor de la parte posterior de su computadora.

3. Retire la tapa de la caja de la computadora. En la mayoría de los casos es sostenida por varios tornillos o de

Instalación del Software

Al prender la computadora por primera vez después de instalar la nueva tarjeta gráfica, Windows detectará un dispositivo de video nuevo y tratara de buscar el driver. Por favor, haga clic en cancel (cancelar).

La instalación del driver para su nueva tarjeta gráfica esta hecho rápida y sencilla a través del uso del CD de instalación del driver que EVGA incluye. Inserte el CD de instalación de EVGA y permitir que la ejecución automática del menú de instalación del driver empiece.

Nota: Si la ejecución automática del menú de la instalación del driver no aparece, se puede iniciar manualmente seleccionando el mandato Run en el menú de Start de Windows y poner: D:\autorun.exe (donde la letra D sea de su unidad de CD-ROM).

Una vez que el menú automático de instalación aparezca, seleccione el botón “ Install Video Drivers” en el menú. Esto iniciará el proceso de instalación del driver.

Características del NVIDIA Control Panel™ (Panel de Control NVIDIA):

La capacidad de utilizar pantallas múltiples en Windows puede simplificar muchas tareas cotidianas mediante la difusión de la superficie del escritorio de Windows o por que le permite ver una película en el televisor. Conecte la televisión de alta definición a través de HDMI permite una señal de audio digital y vídeo de la tarjeta gráfica través de un cable único. Conexión a través de dispositivos intermedios, tales como concentradores o receptores no es recomendable.

Si conecta el televisor de alta definición por HDMI y ha conectado el cable SPDIF para salida de audio (consulte la ilustración siguiente para obtener instrucciones sobre cómo conectar el cable SPDIF), es necesario configurar la salida SPDIF para ser su dispositivo de audio predeterminado. Problema: Al prender el sistema, todo lo que escucho es un sonido fuerte y agudo.

Causa: La tarjeta gráfica no está recibiendo suficiente alimentación de energía adicional a través de las conexiones de energía PCI-E de 6 pins o de 8 pins que vienen de la fuente de alimentación de energía.

Solución: Verifique si su tarjeta gráfica requiere conexiones de alimentación adicional. Dependiendo del modelo, estos se encuentran en la parte trasera de la tarjeta (el lado opuesto de los puertos DVI y VGA) o en el lado de la tarjeta cerca de la parte trasera. 1. Schaten Sie Ihren Computer und alle angeschlossenenen Geräte wie Bildschirme, Drucker und so weiter aus.

2. Entfernen Sie das Bildschirm-Kabel von der aktuell genutzten Grafikkarte.

3. Öffnen Sie das Gehäuse Ihres Computers. In der Regel ist die Gehäuseabeckung mit einigen Schrauben oder

Klammern befestigt – bitte schlagen Sie im Zweifelsfall im Handbuch zu Ihrem Gehäuse nach.

4. Entfernen Sie jetzt die alte eingebaute Grafikkarte (sofern Sie keine Onboard-Grafik nutzten). Dazu müssen Sie

an der Anschlussblende die Schraube(n) lösen, sowie die wahrscheinlich vorhandene Steckplatz-Verriegelung

in der die Karte steckt. Fassen Sie anschließend die Karte an und bewegen Sie diese vorsichtig aus dem

Steckplatz. Dabei müssen Sie möglicherweise etwas an der Karte wackeln. (Bitte beachten Sie: Wenn Sie

bisher integrierte Grafik genutzt haben, müssen Sie diese wahrscheinlich noch deaktivieren. Bitte kontaktieren

Sie dafür den Hersteller Ihres Motherboards).

5. Halten Sie Ihre neue Karte je nach vorgesehenem Anschluss über den PCI-Express-Steckplatz, den

abgezogen haben.

8. Schalten Sie das Computer-Netzteil wieder ein und fahren Sie den Rechner noch.

PCI Video Cards: Sie benötigen einen PCI-Steckplatz kompatibel zu Version 2.1 oder höher.

Wenn Ihre Grafikkarte Zusatzstromanschlüsse hat, sollten Sie diese bereits bei der Installation anschließen. Die Zusatzstromversorgung stellt sicher, dass die Grafikkarte ausreichend Strom bekommt und dass sie mit voller Leistung laufen kann. Sie benötigen möglicherweise 6- oder 8-Pin-PCI-Express-Stromstecker von Ihrem Netzteil.

Die Treiber-CD von EVGA bietet eine einfache Möglichkeit, den Treiber zu installieren. Wir empfehlen dennoch, zuvor den alten Grafiktreiber zu deinstallieren. Stellen Sie daher bitte sicher, dass Sie alte Grafiktreiber deinstalliert und möglicherweise vorhandene integrierte Grafik im Geräte-Manager deaktivieren. Software-Installation

Wenn Sie Ihren Computer nach der Installation der neuen Grafikkarte erstmalig wieder starten, wird Windows das neue Gerät erkennen und nach Treibern suchen. Bitte brechen Sie diese Windows-Suche ab.

Die Installation der Treiber für Ihre neue Grafikkarte ist mit der EVGA-CD ein Kinderspiel. Legen Sie die EVGA-CD ein und warten Sie bis per Autostart das Installationsmenü geladen ist.

Anmerkung: Wenn Die Autostart-Option nicht aktiv ist, können Sie die CD manuell starten. Über das „Ausführen“-Kommando vom Windows-Startmenü geben Sie bitte folgendes ein: D:\autorun.exe (Ersetzen Sie den Buchstaben D durch den korrekten Laufwerksbuchstaben für Ihr CD-Laufwerk).

Nachdem das Installationsmenü angezeigt wird, klicken Sie bitte auf “Install Video Drivers”. Damit beginnt die Treiber-Installation.

Falls Sie während der Installation einen Warnhinweis in Bezug auf das Microsoft WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) erhalten, wählen Sie bitte die Option “Fortführen / Trotzdem installieren”. Damit gehen Sie kein Sicherheitsrisiko ein. Beachten Sie folgende Beispiele:

Das NVIDIA Control Panel ermöglicht die Einrichtung von mehreren Bildschirmen (unabhängig ob sie digital oder analog angeschlossen sind) sowie die Einrichtung eines gemeinsamen Betriebes von einem Monitor und einem Fernseher. Die Möglichkeit, mehrere Bildschirme in Windows zu nutzen, kann Ihre alltägliche Computernutzung erheblich übersichtlicher gestalten: Sie können Ihre Anwendungen auf mehreren Bildschirmen verteilen, oder auf einem der Bildschirme oder einem Fernseher neben der Arbeit ein DVD-Video ansehen. Die Einrichtung des Mehrbildschirmbetriebes finden Sie im Untermenü “Set up multiple displays” in der Sektion „Display“.

Einzel-ModusMarkieren Sie dieses Feld wenn Sie Ihren Monitor einzeln nutzen möchten. Diese Option schaltet den zweiten Bildausgang der Grafikkarte ab und ist standardmäßig aktiv wenn Sie nur einen Monitor angeschlossen haben.

Erweiterter DesktopWählen Sie zwei oder mehr Monitore um sie zu aktivieren. Wählen Sie nun den Display-Modus und welcher Monitor als das primäre Geräte dienen soll. Wenn Sie einen Vortrag halten, können Sie zum Beispiel einen kleinen Monitor die Präsentation vom Podium aus verfolgen während ein Beamer das gleiche Bild für die Zuschauer auf eine Leinwand projiziert. Der Klon-Modus erfordert, dass beide Monitore mit derselben Auflösung laufen.

Klon-ModusSelect two or more checkboxes to enable more than one monitor. You can now right click on the monitors in the section below to set them to duplicate display mode and select the primary monitor between them. A presenter may use the smaller monitor on the podium, while a projector monitor reflects the presentation to the audience. Duplicate displays requires identical resolutions between both displays.

SLI/PhysX-KonfigurationDie Nvidia-Systemsteuerung ermöglicht Ihnen auch, den SLI-Modus zu aktivieren. Je nach Hardwarekonfiguration (zwei oder mehr untereinander SLI-kompatible Karten) haben Sie die Auswahl zwischen 2-way SLI, 3-way SLI und Quad-SLI. Sie können je nach Grafikkarten-Ausstattung auch PhysX aktivieren damit entsprechende Spiele hardwarebeschleunigt laufen. Hier ein Beispiel:

Konfigurieren des HDMI-Audioausgangs (modellabhängig):

Wenn Sie Ihren HD-Fernseher mit HDMI an Ihre Grafikkarte anschließen, können Sie ein digitales Bild- und Tonsignal über ein einzelnes Kabel transportieren. Der Anschluss an Verteiler wie Hubs oder Receiver wird nicht empfohlen.

Wenn Sie die Grafikkarte mit HDMI anschließen und sie mit dem SPDIF-Kabel für Ton verbunden haben. Bitte sehen Sie sich die Illustration unten auf der Seite an, wie Sie das Kabel verbinden (entweder zum Motherboard oder zu einer dedizierten Soundkarte.)

Einige Grafikkarten die einen eigenen HDMI-Anschluss haben, übertragen die Audiodaten über den PCI-Express-Bus und müssen nicht mit dem SPDIF-Kabel verbunden werden.

Mit oder ohne Kabel zur Tonübertragung, Sie müssen Windows auf SPDIF konfigurieren. Wählen Sie Start – Systemsteuerung – Sound. Auf dem Reiter „Wiedergabe“ wählen Sie bitte „SPDIF/HDMI“ als Standardgerät.

Für Windows XP benötigen Sie noch einen Treiber. Bitte fragen Sie Ihren Motherboard- oder Soundkarten-Hersteller für nähere Informationen.

Schnelle Fehlerbehebung

Problem: Wenn das System angeschaltet wird, ist ein lauter Dauerton zu hören.

Grund: Die Grafikkarte bekommt gar keinen oder nicht genügend Zusatzstrom über die 6/8-PCI-E-Anschlüsse.

Lösung: Bitte prüfen Sie, ob Ihre Grafikkarte über Zusatzstromanschlüsse verfügt. Je nach Modell befinden die sich am hinteren Ende der Karte (gegenüberliegende Seite er DVI-Anschlüsse) oder oberhalb der Karte. Stellen Sie bitte sicher, dass Sie die richtigen 6- und/oder 8-Pin-Anschlüsse eingesteckt haben und dass Sie keine falschen Adapterkabel nutzen.

Problem: Der Computer zeigt nach dem Booten von Windows nur einen schwarzen Bildschirm an.

Grund: Sie haben wahrscheinlich eine integrierte Grafikkarte, die noch aktiv ist, oder von der Vorgänger-Karte sind noch Treiber installiert.

Lösung: Stellen Sie sicher, dass eine integrierte Grafik im BIOS des Motherboards deaktiviert und dass Sie die Windows-Treiber der alten Grafikkarte deinstalliert haben. Nachdem die neue Karte eingebaut wurde, schließen Sie bitte das Monitorkabel und – wenn erforderlich – die Zusatzstromkabel an bevor Sie Windows hoch fahren.

Problem: Beim Hochfahren des Computers hören Sie einige Piep-Töne aber bekommen kein Bild.

Grund: Diese Piep-Töne sind eine Warnung vom Motherboard da die Grafikkarte nicht erkannt wurde. Das kann folgende Gründe haben:

1) Die Grafikkarte sitzt nicht richtig im Steckplatz. 2) Der Motherboard-Steckplatz für die Grafikkarte ist defekt. 3) Die Grafikkarte bekommt keinen Strom über die Zusatzstromanschlüsse. 4) Die Grafikkarte ist defekt.

Lösung: Entfernen Sie die Karte aus dem Steckplatz und setzen Sie sie erneut ein. Stellen Sie hierbei sicher, dass sie korrekt sitzt. Anschließend versuchen Sie den Rechner neu zu starten. Sollte dies nicht zum Erfolg führen, könnte ein Fehler an der Hauptplatine oder der Grafikkarte vorliegen. Sie sollten dann den Hersteller kontaktieren um Hilfe zu erhalten.

Problem: Auf Systemen mit einer integrierten Grafikeinheit auf der Hauptplatine werden Fehler-Benachrichtigungen ausgegeben und es werden Konflikte angezeigt nach dem Sie Ihre neue Grafikkarte installiert haben.

Grund: Auf viele Systemen mit einer auf der Hauptplatine integrierten Grafikeinheit muss diese erst deaktiviert werden, bevor Sie eine zusätzlich eingebaute Grafikkarte nutzen können. Falls sie nicht korrekt deaktiviert worden sind, verursachen sie Konflikte mit der Grafikkarte, die Sie versuchen zu installieren.

Lösung: Deaktivieren Sie alle integrierten Grafikeinheiten im Windows-Systemmanager bevor Sie die neue Grafikkarte installieren. Für zusätzliche Informationen hierzu sollten Sie die Bedienungsanleitung Ihrer Hauptplatine oder Ihres Rechners zu Rate ziehen, oder kontaktieren Sie den Hersteller um detaillierte Informationen zu bekommen, wie Sie dies auf Ihrem Rechnersystem bewerkstelligen können.

Schnelle Fehlerbehebung (Fortsetzung)

Problem: Meine Karte hat einen Videoausgang, ich habe aber kein Signal auf dem Fernsehgerät.

Grund: Das Fernsehgerät wird von Windows nicht korrekt erkannt auf Grund einer zu geringen Signalstärke und / oder ist in den Anzeige-Einstellungen nicht aktiviert.

Lösung: Es muss eine direkte Verbindung zwischen dem Fernsehgerät und der Grafikkarte bestehen über ein Cinch-Kabel, ein S-Video-Kabel oder einen DVI-Kabeladapter. Es dürfen keine weiteren Geräte, wie Videorekorder, Empfänger oder Schaltboxen, dazwischen geschaltet sein. Schalten Sie das Fernsehgerät ein bevor Sie Windows starten und aktivieren Sie den Videoausgang in der Geräteauswahl der Anzeige-Einstellungen.

Problem: Spiele frieren ein oder stürzen ab.

Lösung: Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle notwendigen Gerätetreiber installiert und auf dem aktuellen Stand sind, einschließlich der Treiber für Chipsatz, Grafikkarte und Audiokarte. Installieren Sie erneut die neueste Version von DirectX oder des fehlerhaft reagierenden Programms. Stellen Sie auch sicher, dass alle nötigen Aktualisierungen für das Programm installiert wurden, die von dessen Hersteller zur Verfügung gestellt werden.

Problem: Woher bekomme ich die aktuellen Treiber für meine Grafikkarte?

Problem: Wie aktiviere ich die DVD-Wiedergabefunktion?

Grund: Die Grafikkarte kann in Verbindung mit einem DVD-Hardware-Dekoder oder einer DVD-Software-Rendering-Anwendung, wie PowerDVD™oder WinDVD™, zur Wiedergabe von Video-DVDs genutzt werden.

Lösung: Stellen Sie sicher, dass der zusätzliche Hardware-DVD-Dekoder kompatibel mit der Grafikkarte ist oder dass die DVD-Software-Rendering-Anwendung korrekt installiert ist und / oder auf dem aktuellen Stand.

Problem: Das Bild auf dem Monitor meines MediaCenterPCs ist an den Seiten abgeschnitten.

Grund: Dieses Problem wird “Overscan” genannt und einige DLP- / Plasma- / LCD-Fernsehgeräte haben entsprechende Einstellmöglichkeiten um diesen “Overscan” auszugleichen. Bitte schlagen Sie in der Bedienungsanleitung Ihres Fernsehgerätes nach, ob diese Einstellmöglickeiten geboten werden oder nicht.

Lösung: Stellen Sie sicher, dass die aktuellen nVIDIA-ForceWare-Treiber für Ihre Grafikkarte installiert sind und dass der Monitor Ihres MediaCenterPCs korrekt eingestellt ist im nVIDIA-Steuerungsfenster (in der Rubrik Video und Fernsehen).

ハードウェアのインストール

を入れると、システム部品やグラフィックカードへの損傷、またはユーザーの怪我を招く恐れがあります。コンピュータの準備が整ったら、グラフィックカードのインストールを始めましょう。

クイックスタート

1. コンピュータおよび接続されているモニタ、プリンタ、外付け部品など、すべてのデバイスの電源を切ってください。

2. コンピュータの背面から、現在使用中のディスプレイアダプタのディスプレイケーブルを取り外してください。

3. コンピュータケースのカバーを取り外します。通常、コンピュータケースのカバーはネジやクリップで固定 されています。詳しい方法については、システムの取扱説明書やその他の情報をお読みください。

コンピュータの電源を切る – ディスプレイケーブルを取り外す 既存のグラフィックアダプタを取り外す

重要システムにビデオカードを取り付ける前に、ビデオカードのバスタイプと利用可能なスロットとが一致するかを確認してください。

PCI-Express ビデオカード： ビデオカードをマザーボードのプライマリ PCI-Express スロットにセットします。

AGP ビデオカード： グラフィックカードをAGP 2.0 (またはそれ以降) 対応スロットにセットします。

PCI ビデオカード： グラフィックカードをPCI 2.1 (またはそれ以降) 対応スロットにセットします。

ご利用のカードにPCI-E 補助電源コネクタが実装されている場合は、必ず接続するようにしてください。このPCI-E補助電源を接続することで、最適な状態で動作します。ご利用のカードには 1 つ、または 2 つの 6/8 ピン PCI-E 補助電源の接続が必要な可能性があります。

ソフトウェアのインストール

新しいグラフィックカードを接続後の初回起動時には、Windows が新しいディスプレイデバイスを検出し、ドライバの検索を始めます。[キャンセル] (Cancel) をクリックしてください。

付属の EVGA ドライバインストール CD を使うと、新しいグラフィックカードのドライバのインストールを素早く、簡単に行うことができます。EVGA インストール CD をセットし、自動実行のドライバインストールメニューを起動します。

メモ: 自動実行のドライバインストールメニューが表示されない場合、Windows の [スタート] (Start) メニューから [ファイル名を指定して実行] (Run) を選択し、次のように入力してプログラムを起動することができます: D:\autorun.exe (”D” とは CD-ROM ドライブの文字を指します。)

自動実行のインストールメニューが表示されたら、メニューから [ビデオドライバのインストール] (Install Video Drivers) ボタンを選択します。これでドライバのインストールが始まります。

Microsoft WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) の警告が表示されたら、[続ける] (Continue)/ [インストールする] (Install Anyway) を選択すると安心です。以下の例をご覧ください。

NVIDIA コントロールパネルの機能

NVIDIA Control Panel では複数のディスプレイ環境を制御することができます。複数のコンピュータモニタ (デジタル、アナログを問わず) を介している場合でも、テレビと一緒に使用しているモニタでも、同じように制御できます。Windows で複数のディスプレイを使用できると、Windows のデスクトップ領域にタスクを広げて表示したり、テレビでお気に入りの DVD ムービーを鑑賞したりすることができ、日々の操作が広がります。マルチディスプレイの構成は、NVIDIA Control Panel のディスプレイセクションにある [マルチディスプレイのセットアップ] (Set up multiple displays) で行うことができます。

シングルモード単独のディスプレイとして使用するモニタだけ、チェックボックスを選択します。シングルモードを選択すると、2 つ目の出力が無効となります。これは、グラフィックカードにモニタが 1 つしか接続されていない場合の既定値です。

拡張デスクトップ複数のモニタを有効にするには、2 つ以上のチェックボックスを選択してください。チェックを入れた後、以下のセクションでいずれかのモニタを右クリックし、任意のモードを選択してください。拡張デスクトップモードは、解像度、色深度、リフレッシュレートの設定をディスプレイごとに独立して管理することができます。互換グラフィックカード 1 つにつき、最大 2 台までのモニタを使用することができます。

複製ディスプレイ複数のモニタを有効にするには、2 つ以上のチェックボックスを選択してください。次に、以下のセクションでモニタを右クリックし、複製ディスプレイモードに設定してから、いずれかのモニタをプライマリモニタとして選択します。司会者は壇上の小さい方のモニタを使いながら、観客用に同じ画面を大きなプロジェクターモニタで映し出すことができます。複製ディスプレイを使用する場合は、2 つのディスプレイの解像度が同じである必要があります 。

SLI/PhysX の構成NVIDIA Control Panel は、SLI (multibple display adaputers) の設定も提供しています。これは 2way SLI、3way SLI、Quad SLI のいずれかの形式になります。これらのオプションは、2 つ、または 3 つの同じビデオカード (3way SLI ビデオカードが必要) がインストールされている場合に、3D 設定のセクションに表示されます。また、対応可能なゲームの PhysX を有効にし、どのビデオカードが PhysX プロセスを処理するかを指定することができます。以下の例をご覧ください。

オーディオ出力用に HDMI を構成する (選択モデルのみ):

HDTV を HDMI 経由で接続すると、デジタルオーディオとビデオの両方をグラフィックカードからケーブルだけで出力することができます。ハブや受信機といった中間デバイスを介して接続することは推奨できません。

HDMI 経由でディスプレイを接続しており、オーディオ出力に SPDIF ケーブルを接続した場合　(SPDIF ケーブル接続の方法については下図を参照)、SPDIF 出力が既定のオーディオデバイスとなるよう設定する必要があります。SPDIF ケーブルは、マザーボードまたはサウンドカードの SPDIF ヘッダに接続することができます。

オンボード HDMI ポートを持つ特定のグラフィックカードは、オーディオ出力用に SPDIF ケーブルが必要ない場合があります。

オーディオをグラフィックカードから伝達するために SPDIF ケーブルを使用しているかどうかを問わず、Windows のサウンド出力を構成する必要があります。まず [スタート] (Start)、[コントロールパネル] (Control Panel)、サウンド (Sound) を選択します。[再生 ] (Playback) タブで [SPDIF/HDMI 出力デバイス] (SPDIF/HDMI output device) を選択し、[既定値を設定] (Set Default) を選択します。

トラブルシューティング

トラブル: システムの電源を入れると、大きな『キーン』と言う音しか聞こえません。

原因: ビデオカードが、電源装置から 6 ピン PCI-E または 8 ピン PCI-3 電源接続を通して十分な電力または補給電力を給電していません。

対処法: カードが補充電力の接続を必要としているかどうかを判断します。モデルによっては、これらはカードの背面 (DVI と VGA ポートの反対側) にあるか、またはカード側面の後方にあります。適切な 6 ピンまたは 8 ピンの PCI-E 補助電源ケーブルが接続されており仕様に応じた電源アダプタケーブルを使用していないかどうか確認してください。

トラブル: Windows を起動した後、コンピュータの画面は黒いままです。

原因: 新しいビデオカードを前にが無効化されていない、または以前のディスプレイアダプタのディスプレイドライバをアンインストールしていない可能性があります。

1) カードが正しく挿入されていません。 2) マザーボードのビデオカードスロットに問題があります。 3) PCI-E 補助電源プラグがグラフィックカードに接続されていません。 4) ビデオカードスロットに問題があります。

トラブル: 統合グラフィックチップを搭載したシステムでグラフィックカードを接続した後、エラーメッセージが表示されます。

原因: 統合グラフィックチップを搭載したシステムでは、新しいグラフィックカードを使用する前に統合グラフィックチップを無効にする必要があります。適切に無効化されていないと、新しくインストールしようとしているアダプタと競合を招きます。

対処法: 新しいグラフィックカードをインストールする前に、Windows のデバイスマネージャで内蔵グラフィックを無効にします。この問題に関する詳しい情報は、マザーボードまたはシステムの取扱説明書をご覧になるか、システム販売店やマザーボードメーカーに内蔵グラフィック無効化についてお尋ねください。

トラブル: グラフィックカードは TV 出力に対応しているのですが、表示することができません。

原因: 機能がディスプレイのコントロールパネルで有効になっていない可能性があります。

対処法: グラフィックカード側からTVへ出力するには、RCA、S-Video、または DVI ケーブルコネクタを使った接続が必要です。VCR、受信機、スイッチボックスなどの中間デバイスは排除してください。Windows を起動する前に TV の電源を入れ、ディスプレイのコントロールパネルの [デバイス選択] (Device Selection) で TV 出力機能を有効にしてください。

トラブル: DVD 再生をするには？

原因: ビデオカードは、DVD ハードウェアまたはDVD再生ソフト(PowerDVD™ や WinDVD™ など) を併用すれば DVD を再生することができます。

対処法: ハードウェア DVD デコーダがグラフィックカードと互換性があることを確認するか、または DVD 再生ソフトが正しくインストールされ、更新されているかどうか確認してください。

トラブル: HTPC のモニタの両端が切れてしまいます。

原因: この問題は “オーバースキャン”と呼ばれ、一部の DLP / プラズマ / LCD TV にはこの “オーバースキャン”を補正する機能があります。この補正機能が搭載されているかどうかは、TVs mfg. または取扱説明書をご覧ください。

快速指南1. 將電腦及所有連接裝置的電源關閉，例如：螢幕、印表機及外接裝置。

2. 從電腦後方將連接線自您目前的顯示卡上移除。

3. 將您的電腦機箱打開，大部分的機箱蓋由數個螺絲或是扣具固定 – 關於其他資訊，您可能需要參考您系統或 機箱的使用說明。

4. 自您的電腦上移除現有的繪圖介面卡。您需要先解下螺絲並輕輕地將卡前後上下搖動，同時向後施力。 (請注意： 若您的主機板已內建影像裝置，你需要在主機板上先將其停用。請聯絡您的系統或是主機板製造商 獲得其他資訊)

關閉電腦電源 – 拔除顯示連接線移除任何現有的繪圖介面卡

重要資訊PCI和PCI-Express是不同類型的插槽，因此在您的系統安裝顯示卡之前，請確認顯示卡匯流排組態，並且符合可用的插槽。

PCI-Express 顯示卡: 將顯示卡插入主機板上主要PCI-Express插槽。

AGP顯示卡: 將顯示卡插入AGP2.0或以上規格的對應插槽。

軟體安裝

安裝完成您的新顯示卡後首次重新啟動系統時，Windows會偵測到一個新的顯示裝置並試著搜尋其驅動程式。請選擇取消。

藉由使用EVGA包裝內含的驅動程式安裝光碟，可快速且簡單的替您的新顯示卡安裝驅動程式。置入EVGA安裝光碟，並允許驅動安裝選單自動啟動。

NVIDIA Control Panel™ 功能:

單一顯示模式勾選單一顯示器。當你只有一個顯示器和顯示卡連接時，這將是預設的顯示模式。在此模式下，其餘的顯示器皆會被停用。

快速故障排除

問題: 我在開機後聽到響亮且高音頻尖銳的連續雜音 。

原因: 顯示卡電力不足，或是沒有透過6pin或8pin PCI-E電源線，從電源供應器上獲得任何補充電力。

问题: 我在开机后听到响亮且高音频尖锐的连续杂音

原因: 显卡电力不足，或是没有透过6pin或8pin PCI-E电源线，从电源供应器上获得任何补充电力。

解决方案: 确认您的显卡是否需要额外的电源连接。视不同的机种而定，电源接头通常会位于显示卡尾端 (DVI及VGA输出埠的相反面)，或者位于显卡左右两面接近尾端的位置。请务必使用适当的6pin或8pinPCI-E补充电源线，而非使用不合格的电源转接线。

问题: Windows开机后，屏幕无显示。

原因: 您在安装PCI显示卡前没有先停用内建自带显示装置，或是尚未将您先前使用的显卡驱动程序解除安装。

问题: 我的卡支持TV-Out 功能却无法在电视上显示画面。

原因: 由于信号不完整及(或)在控制面板>显示中没有启用装置，因此Windows没有侦测到电视。

解决方案: 务必直接透过RCA、S-Video线或是DVI线，将您的电视接上显示卡。在连结中不可透过任何媒介装置，例如VCR,、接收器或是转接盒。在Windows开机前先开启您的电视，随后进入装置管理员>显示>装置选用，启用TV-Out功能。

问题: 游戏当机或是游戏错误跳回桌面。

问题: 我的个人家庭影院屏幕画面超出屏幕
