FUNDRAISING

Fundraising is a complex and delicate process that needs deliberate management. If you are looking for funds but are not sure about where the funds can be obtained, what type of funding is appropriate or how much funding is required then EVK is the right advisory partner. Understanding what the funding sources want, knowing how they work, approaching the right people and getting the proper attention requires experience and knowledge of the inner workings of the financing business as well as a wide network of investors. Being able to present and negotiate your case convincingly, structuring and closing a deal that benefits both the company and the financier in a timely manner requires experience, professionalism, commitment, time, discipline and creativity. EVK will help you to raise money for a new venture or expansion of an existing business. We begin our fundraising process by closely assessing client needs. In order to optimize the cash flow structure and the risk profile we recommend the right mix of debt or equity funding and the valuation which enables successful completion of the fundraising. We have fundraising capability for both public and private company investment opportunities. EVK enjoys strong relationships with an extensive network of institutional fund managers, private equity and venture capital investors, family offices and high net worth individuals.

• For unlisted companies we offer access to equity investment, either through pre-IPO private placement or private equity capital. Clients will often greatly benefit in having access to growth capital, giving them time to develop revenue streams in advance of a future IPO.

• For public companies we offer access to our institutional investor base and provide enhance visibility of investment appetite. We aim to secure rapid soft commitments thereby increasing the likelihood of successful completion of the fundraising

RISK MANAGEMENT

Globalization often means increased exposure towards various currencies, interest rates, stock and commodity markets. Apart from these financial markets, we advise our clients on how to manage other potential risks, such as operational, health, personal security, political, regulatory, country or industry specific risks.

Risk management is therefore an integral part of our decision process and client advice. It forms part of our asset allocation and portfolio construction where we talk about risk before we discuss potential return, agreeing on the level of volatility clients are willing to take. Once we have agreed on risk parameters and strategic asset allocation we then monitor portfolio performances versus benchmarks on a regular basis. We also advise our Family Office clients on various optional insurances. Some of our corporate clients wish us to conduct a competitor and industry analysis, highlighting what potential current and future risks they are facing and how to mitigate them.

We provide strictly impartial advice without being weighed down by the expectation of selling financial products that primarily benefit the product originator rather than the client. Clients are able to choose a solid Private Bank with a healthy market capitalization, state of the art infrastructure, research capabilities and execution platforms, yet maintain a relationship with EVK as an impartial and personal advisor to help them to structure the management of their accounts with the respective banks through a limited power of attorney. This segregation of functions between investment advice, custodianship and execution platforms avoids potential conflict of interests and ensures value for service. EVK constantly monitors the competitiveness of pricing and the credit worthiness of the chosen custodian banks and passes through to the client all Retrocession paid to EVK by the relevant parties

Founding Partner

Andreas has over 25 years of wide-ranging experience with leading institutions in the

finance industry. Prior to joining EVK Capital Andreas worked for top-level investment

banks, hedge funds and private banks in Zurich, Geneva, London, Hong Kong and

Singapore. He is passionate in finding the optimal financial solutions for his clients;

either tailoring an optimal investment proposition for their personal needs, or looking

after their corporate needs.

Andreas was awarded an AMP diploma from Wharton Business School, University

of Pennsylvania and he also holds CEFA (Certified European Financial Analyst and

Portfolio Manager) and FRM (Financial Risk Manager) diplomas.

David Edmonds has spent the past 17 years in South East Asia as an entrepreneur

and lawyer. David is also a trained economist and started his professional career in

commercial banking. David brings client focused expertise in the areas of fund raising,

mergers & acquisitions, corporate and family governance and risk management.

David sits on the board of various companies in Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and

Australia.

David holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce (with honours) and a bachelor’s degree

in law from University of Melbourne.

Brad brings with him over 20 years of experience in Investment banking. Prior to joining

EVK, he worked in London, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore. Prior to joining EVK

Capital Brad was setting up Kleinwort Benson’s office in Singapore. His previous role

was held at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International in London, where he was a Managing

Director, and Head of Sales and Trading for Equity, Equity Derivatives and Convertible

Bonds. He later relocated to Tokyo to assume a global role before moving to

Hong Kong.

Brad holds a BSc (Hons) degree from Loughborough University.

Thalia has spent the last 10 years working in hospitality, construction and media in Asia.

In addition to being a partner in EVK Capital she also manages and operates a construction

project management company in Thailand and Macau and a marketing and public relation

company which services clients from the construction, development and real estate

asset owners in Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand and Australia. She is also

an editor for several industry journals including one which represents the interests of

international real estate asset owners.

Thalia holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and has an interest in

politics and strategy.

GRAEME BENNETTDirector

Graeme is a private equity fund raising specialist with experience in information

technology start up companies. In addition he has over 20 years’ experience in trading

and marketing financial market products across Hong Kong, London, Singapore and

Sydney. During his career he was managing the credit risk for various banks while he

was assisting central banks and fund managers in Europe and the Middle East with

funding solutions for their balance sheets.
