Hello Ladies Happy New Year!!! We have pleasure in bringing you our first EW Newsletter for 2012. I don’t know about you, but I am extremely expectant this year. There are so many opportunities that will be available to all of us this year. The difference between those who will sit on the side lines and the opportunity pass them by and those who will take advantage of what is available to them this year is down to: HAVING A NEW MIND FOR A NEW YEAR I hear it all the time, the start of the year and people are looking at what New Year resolu- tions they would like to put in place. We all have the best intentions and the commitment to see that we make strategic plans to achieving our goals. I could name some of the goals that seem to be a reoccurring presence on the list: losing weight, getting out of debt, making more money, starting a business, buying a property, developing more of a spiritual lifestyle, the list is endless. On the 1 st of January, everyone is wishing everyone a Happy New Year and it is indeed a new year, but I would like you to consider a question – What mind set did you start the New Year with? (Pause) Did your mind come into the New Year with an old belief, old concept, old thought, or an old method of doing what you’ve always been doing? If it did, then you won’t get further than the paper you wrote your resolutions on. A new year means a new thought mind, doing things differently, approaching solutions from a new angle. In your job or business, there are times when you will need to sit down with your management committee to see how the business is growing, what old ideas are not working and need to be thrown out, what new ideas need to be built on to bring growth, sustainability and progress, you may even go as far as removing people who are not de- veloping in line with your vision and recruit people who will take the business to the next level. There are no sentiments about it, to maintain growth, you have to do it. If you’re working, I don’t think your boss will consider keeping you on if he or she feels that there’s nothing more you can add to their vision. That’s the way life is, it’s not personal; it’s business! This is the same way you ought to be approaching your own progress in a new year. Ana- lysing what worked, what didn’t work, why it didn’t work and what new approaches should be used to help you achieve. Even Jesus said it to the people who asked him why His disciples didn’t fast like John’s disciples and the Pharisees. He replied with an answer – Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not; they can’t fast while the groom is with them, but someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast”. Mark 2:19-20 It was normal for the Pharisees and John the Baptiste disciples to fast, it was a religious requirement; however Jesus who came to do away with old beliefs, opinions and stagnant routines didn’t say they shouldn’t fast, but to merely know when to fast. Hello Ladies Happy New Year!!! We have pleasure in bringing you our first EW Newsletter for 2012. I don’t know about you, but I am extremely expectant this year. There are so many opportunities that will be available to all of us this year. The difference between those who will sit on the side lines and the opportunity pass them by and those who will take advantage of what is available to them this year is down to:

HAVING A NEW MIND FOR A NEW YEAR

I hear it all the time, the start of the year and people are looking at what New Year resolu-tions they would like to put in place. On the 1st of January, everyone is wishing everyone a Happy New Year and it is indeed a new year, but I would like you to consider a question – What mind set did you start the New Year with? (Pause) Did your mind come into the New Year with an old belief, old concept, old thought, or an old method of doing what you’ve always been doing? If it did, then you won’t get further than the paper you wrote your resolutions on. A new year means a new thought mind, doing things differently, approaching solutions from a new angle. In your job or business, there are times when you will need to sit down with your management committee to see how the business is growing, what old ideas are not working and need to be thrown out, what new ideas need to be built on to bring growth, sustainability and progress, you may even go as far as removing people who are not de-veloping in line with your vision and recruit people who will take the business to the next level.

Ana-lysing what worked, what didn’t work, why it didn’t work and what new approaches should be used to help you achieve. Even Jesus said it to the people who asked him why His disciples didn’t fast like John’s disciples and the Pharisees. He replied with an answer – “Do wedding guests fast while celebrating with the groom? Of course not; they can’t fast while the groom is with them, but someday the groom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast”. Mark 2:19-20 It was normal for the Pharisees and John the Baptiste disciples to fast, it was a religious requirement; however Jesus who came to do away with old beliefs, opinions and stagnant routines didn’t say they shouldn’t fast, but to merely know when to fast.

He continued by asking, who would patch old clothing with a new cloth? The new patch will shrink and rip away from the old cloth, leaving an even bigger tear than before. And no one puts new wine into old wine skins, because the wine would burst the wineskins and the wine and the skins would both be lost. New wine calls for new wine-skins. Essentially, your new mind is what will give you a new year and that means changing your way of thinking, your routine, opening your mind to the possibility of trying something different to get a different result. 2012 has new opportunities waiting for you to take hold of, but you will need to make a whole new set of plans, change the way you think, the way you view your life to be able to successfully walk through the doors of opportuni-ties waiting for you. It’s only when you change mind set will you then see the opportunities that you may have missed last year and are waiting for you to take hold of them again this year but this time with a new mind set.

Journaling Moment What opportunities are available to you now, what thoughts and opinions do you need to change so that you can make a success of these opportunities in 2012?

Be Empowered!

Stepping Out—Meet Esther Uhunoma Igbinehi– Founder and Pioneer of The Widow’s Rendezvous

My Father was the manager of the Baptist Mission, Benin City, Nigeria. I was encouraged by my parents’ strict parental training to pursue my studies and remain focused. This resulted in my graduating from the University of Benin with a degree in French which enabled me to be a language teacher under the Lagos State Education Board.

I got married in 1988 and was blessed with four children, but tragically lost my only son from illness and later also my Husband who died in a motor accident.

In 1995, I was ordained a Pastor by Rev Ojei Ohiwere of Heritage Assembly, Nigeria and I am presently a Pastor in the youth church of the Redeemed Christian Church of God ( RCCG) Rock of Redemption, London.

In 1996, the Lord spoke to me through James 1:27 which says "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the father is this, to visit the fatherless and wid-ows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world". This prompted me to start a fellowship that would support orphans and widows which is now known as Widows Rendezvous Helps Ministry. I shared the vision with four other women in 1997 and we started by visiting hospitals, orphanages and destitutes in Nigeria. We went around distributing

gifts, paying hospital bills for the sick, needy and organising parties for orphans in the orphanages.

The vision of WRHM is to give orphans and widows love, support and encouragement to live meaningful lives and fulfil their God-given purpose. Specifically, this involves enabling helpless widows to have a means of livelihood through aid and grants, giving hope and a future to orphans through scholarship schemes, and setting up setting up small scales business for widows through non-interest loans. The Widows Rendezvous presently has offices in London, Lagos and Benin-City where we reach out to widows and orphans. We are also working out ways to reach out to other African nations through our regional office in Edo state.

We have proposed homes called "Solomon Haven" which will be places where widows will be helped to rebuild their lives. These homes will comprise free accommodation for homeless widows until they are financially stable to start a new life training centres to empower the young widows to start a career or trade and a crèche/ nursery for or-phans.

My commission from God and my experiences through bereavement gives me the passion and zeal to reach out to the helpless and lonely. When I started this work, I was working with these special people, but when I went through bereavement, I started walking with them. I then understood the meaning of pain, neglect and rejection. With this I decided to dedicate my life into giving love and support to as many hurting people God brings my way. Hence the WRHM motto which says “Spreading Love around the World"

Am the author of three books, the latest in the UK called a "A woman's Worth" and is available to buy; this book outlines the great purpose that God has for women in His kingdom. The book describes the qualities that make the woman priceless such as identifying and understanding the reason why God made you a woman, keying into this purpose by having a unique and personal relationship with God, and allowing the relationship to manifest in every area of your life.

My hopes and aspirations is to go everywhere with the message of love and hope to widows and orphans and to see their heads lifted up among kings and princes.

My advice to women is that each woman should see the talents in them as their hidden treasures that will take them to their glory. Challenges are stepping stones and ladder to the top, so do not let them scare you out of your way to victory. Above all remain steadfast in the Lord and He will see you through

New Book Release – Out Soon! Being Single to Be Mar-ried – Preparing Yourself for a Purpose Driven Marriage. – Jacqueline Ani In this thought provoking and inspiring book, Jacqueline Nwokeji-Ani talks about her experience being single with a strong desire to be married. Her de-sire took her through many of life’s pro-cesses and through it all she discov-ered her purpose, her gifts and how to be a wife when the time comes. Being Single to Be Married addresses the highs and lows singles feel, the importance of singlehood and embracing that season before getting married. Marriage is not a bed of roses, but can be a wonderful and pleasant experience when it is done the right way and with the right one. God created the institution of marriage with the first male man and female woman. He said it was-n’t good for man to be alone, but which man was He referring to? Not all men and women are equipped to marry and to be part of that scripture; you must have the characteristic that the first male man and female woman had. Being Single to Be Married – Preparing Yourself for a Purpose Driven Marriage will soon be out. Release date set for March 2012
