The general goal of the EwasteR

Project is to develop and establish a

new high-quality interdisciplinary

curriculum for the E-Waste Recycling

and Reuse Management sector in

Europe creating the link between

the production phase and the waste

phase of a product and increasing

the sense of initiative and entrepre-

neurship as well as the quality and

potential of employability and mobil-

ity.

The Curriculum is linked to two main

skills development areas:

Management Area of Curriculum

Technical and Vocational Area of Curriculum

Six areas of activities (training units)

have been identified for both skills

areas:

1. OPERATIONAL MANAGE-MENT OF UEEE AND WEEE FOR REUSE, TREATMENT AND RECY-CLING

Over the last month partners,

coordinated by Intercollege

(Cyprus) have been working to

design the EwasteR training plan.

The training plan is structured on

"a blended training approach" and

defines the rules and modality of

the Pilot learning activities (WP6-

WP7) to deliver at National level,

the target learners to involve in

each Country, the training con-

tents and the key strategies and

methodologies for the LOs assess-

ment (WP8). The components of

training plan will be curriculum-

oriented within the main six trai-

ning units (T.U.) of learning outco-

mes. The learning outcomes that

must be achieved, along with the

training environment, audience

characteristics, and the experience

of the trainer, all determine the

mix of learning methods and tools

that will achieve maximum effecti-

veness.

The training of target learners that

partners aim to deliver through

and non-government sectors, the genera-

tion of employment and training opportu-

nities for young, unemployed, students

and employed people and the creation of

a sustainable business process (See pic-

ture below).

this training plan at National level in

the E-Waste recycling and re-use ma-

nagement sector has four major objec-

tives:

1. Increase skills, knowledge and

competences about the E-

Waste recycling and re-use ma-

nagement

2. Increase the employability op-

portunities in the E-waste recy-

cling and reuse sector

3. Improve attitudes about the

importance of recycling and

reuse practices, thus impro-

ving the circular economy pro-

cess

4. Build and strengthen skills in the specific tasks to be com-pleted for efficient functioning of E-Waste recycling and re-use system

THE E-WASTE RECYCLING AND REUSE PROCESS AND THE SIX UNITS OF

LEARNING OUTCOMES . Partners identified six Units of Learning Outcomes covering the two main Area

Of Activity “Management” (blue) and “Vocational” (green) that represent a link

between the production phase and the waste phase of EEE products and embra-

ce the entire e-waste recycling and re-use management chain across Manage-

ment and Vocational, with a Career Guidance Unit as introduction.

For each Unit defined, the learning outcomes are described in terms of EQF Di-

mension, Learning outcomes (general description), Skills; Knowledge; Compe-

tencies (detailed description), Test criteria (LOs assessment).

TRAINING METHODOLOGIES AND ASSESSMENT TOOLS

Blended training options are identified as more appropriate for Manage-

ment and Vocational Area of Activity and they range from classroom acti-

vities and open management school experiences, to on-line and work

oriented interventions through the labs shadowing programme.

All options are reported and detailed in

the training plan to make staff mem-

bers, trainers and learners at national

level aware about the operational ta-

sks and facilities to arrange for their

programme.

Learning methods and tools may inclu-

de presentations, workshops, coa-

ching, mentoring lecture, discussion,

workshops, case study, role-playing,

group exercise, business canvas model,

brainstorming and demonstration as

well as Open Management School acti-

vities through Business Model Canvas.

Learning requires active involvement.

Learners can prefer to learn in different

ways—through visual inputs, verbal

interactions, and learning by doing.

Therefore, offering a variety of training

opportunities and training techniques

is usually more effective than using

only one approach. Training can be

formal or informal, academic or ap-

plied, guided or self-directed, or provi-

ded in traditional venue (agencies,

schools, institutes) or companies like

enterprises.

Concerning assessment, over the Ewa-

steR pilot-training course, an effective

assessment of the six units of learning

outcome is to develop (summative

assessment).

The overall assessment process will be

reported and described in detail in the

Handbook (WP8). Whenever possible,

the trainer should follow up with parti-

cipants to assess the impact of trai-

ning on performance. Data collected

during follow-up can help identify the

need for additional training or reinfor-

cement of newly acquired skills, as

well as inform review and revision of

the training materials. Finally, the re-

sults of the assessment give partners

the possibility to record the PILOT

experience for learners through the

fulfilment of the deliverable n.29 “VET

Learners Pilot Package (after Pilot)”

composed of the “Europass Curricu-

lum” and “Learners Transcript”. Besi-

des, the data collected through the

assessment of the LOs achieved by

learners enables partners to review

and improve the Curriculum and

Occupational profile’s contents

before being adopting in the

NQF/RQF (EQAVET approach).

TOWARDS THE F INAL YEAR OF THE PROJECT

Starting from the Pilot experien-

ces’ results with the LOs assess-

ment developed, Partners, coor-

dinated by Regione Toscana, will

draft an Handbook for trainers

with methodologies and imple-

mented activities harmonising

each national validation process

and completing the instruments

with a transparent and shared

assessment system associated

with LO descriptions.

The Handbook contents and its

instruments will be developed to

“ERASMUS FOR YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS”: WHAT IS IT?

support lifelong learning activities,

the mobility of European learners

and the flexibility of learning path-

ways to achieve qualifications and it

will be adopted and promoted by

the partners as best practice.

Furthermore, each Partner with the

specific support of ERIFO will make

available three participants

(employers or new) at least, who

have attended the Pilot VET expe-

riences, to submit the “Erasmus for

Young Entrepreneurs” programme

with aim to:

Achieve on-the-job-training

chances to learn from people

experienced in E-Waste recy-

cling and re-use management

sector running small business

in other EU countries;

Acquire the relevant manage-

ment skills needed to run a

small E-Waste recycling and

re-use enterprise;

Cooperate with foreign part-

ners and learn about new

markets and new commercial

relations.

Erasmus for Young Entrepre-neurs is a cross-border ex-change programme which gives new or aspiring entre-preneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepre-neurs running small busines-ses in other Participating Countries.

The exchange of experience takes place during a stay with the experienced entrepre-neur, which helps the new entrepreneur acquire the skills needed to run a small firm. The host benefits from fresh perspectives on his/her business and gets the oppor-tunities to cooperate with foreign partners or learn about new markets.

Who can participate?

New entrepreneurs, firmly planning to set up their own business or have already started one within the last three years

Experienced entrepre-neurs who own or ma-nage a Small or Me-dium-Sized Enterprise in one of the Participating Countries
