Connecting with a USB cable Ifyou’reconnectingaWindowsVista®,XP,or2000computertothe

projector,youcanusetheUSBcable.Youdon’tneedtousetheVGAcable.

1 Makesuretheprojectoristurnedon.

2 Turnonyourcomputer.

3 ConnectthesquareendoftheUSBcabletotheprojector’sTypeBUSBport.

4 ConnecttheflatendofthecabletoanyavailableUSBportonyourcomputer.

5 FollowtheinstructionsonyourcomputerscreentoinstalltheEpsonUSBDisplaysoftware(youneedtoinstallthesoftwareonlythefirsttimeyouconnect).Afterthesoftwarehasbeeninstalled,youseeyourcomputer’sscreendisplayedbytheprojector.

NOTE Ifyouseea“DigitalSignatureWarning”whileinstallingthesoftware,selectContinue.

Youcanconnectanoptionalaudiocableifyouwanttoplaysoundthroughtheprojector.SeetheUser’s GuideonyourCD-ROMforinstructions.

3 Plug in and turn on 1 OpentheA/V Muteslide(lenscover).

2 Connectthepowercordtotheprojectorandplugtheotherendintoanelectricaloutlet.

The powerlightontheprojectorturnsorange.

3 Turnonyourcomputerorvideosource.

4 Pressthe powerbuttonontheprojectororremotecontrol.Theprojectorbeeps,the powerlightflashesgreen,andtheprojectorwarmsup.Whenthe powerlightstaysgreen,theprojectorisreadyforuse.

Turning off the projector 1 Ifyou’reusingacomputer,shutitdownfirst,whileyoucanstill seethedisplay.

2 Pressthe powerbuttonontheprojectororremotecontrol.

3 Whenyouseetheconfirmationmessage,pressthe powerbuttonagain.Theprojectorbeepstwiceandthe powerlightturnsorange.

WithEpson’sInstantOff®technology,there’snocool-downperiod.Whenyou’redone,justunplugtheprojectorandit’sreadytotravel.

1 Unpack the projector Youshouldhavethefollowingitems:

Canada only:ForFrenchspeakers,removesticker(s)fromtheinterfacelabelbackingsheetandplaceovercorrespondingtextonthecontrolpanel.

2 Choose a location Theprojectorsupports4viewingsetups:frontprojection,ceilingprojection,

rearprojection,andrear/ceilingprojection.Choosethebestoneforyourenvironment.Ifyouinstalltheprojectorinarearoroverheadposition,you’llneedtochoosethecorrectprojectionoptionfromtheExtendedmenu.SeetheUser’s GuideonyourCD-ROMforinstructions.

Thedistancebetweentheprojectorandthescreengenerallydeterminesthesizeoftheimage,butthesizecanalsovarydependingontheaspectratio(imageshape),howyouzoomintotheimage,andwhetheryou’veadjustedotherimagesettings.Dependingontheprojectormodelyouareusingandtheimagesettingsyou’vechosen,youcanplacetheprojectoranywherefrom33to412inches(84to1047cm)fromthescreen.

6 Adjust the image 1 Toraisetheimage,pressthefootreleaseleverandliftthefront

oftheprojector.Releasethelevertolockthefootinthepositionyouwant.

2 Rotatethefocusringtosharpentheimage.Toreduceorenlargetheimage,rotatethezoomring(EX50/EX70only)orpresstheWide (enlarge)orTele (reduce)buttonontheprojector’scontrolpanel(EX30only).

3 Ifyourimagelookslike or ,firstmakesuretheprojectorisfacingthescreensquarely.Then,ifnecessary,pressthe and buttonsontheprojector’scontrolpaneluntiltheimagelookscorrect.

If the projector and the notebook don’t display the same image

If you’re using a Windows notebook:

HolddowntheFnkeyandpressthefunctionkey(suchas orCRT/LCD)thatletsyoudisplayonanexternalmonitor.Onmostsystems,the orCRT/LCDkeyletsyoutogglebetweentheLCDscreenandtheprojector,ordisplayonbothatthesametime.

CheckyourmonitorsettingstomakesureboththeLCDscreenandtheexternalmonitorportareenabled.FromtheControlPanel,opentheDisplayutility.ClicktheSettingstab,thenclickAdvanced.Themethodforadjustingthesettingsvariesbybrand;youmayneedtoclickaMonitortab,thenmakesuretheexternalMonitorportissetasyourprimarydisplayand/orenabled.Seeyourcomputer’sdocumentationoronlinehelpfordetails.
