    Unit Objectives:Students will be able to write a vivid and interesting paragraph using the The Table Top Paragraphmethod.

    Materials:Handouts and worksheets (provided)

    Colored Pencils, Crayons, Pens, Computers, Typewriters (student must supply)

    Activities (Procedures):Journal-AR Reading for 10 minutes

    Objective-Through class recitation, students will learn and memorize the mandatory poem and the extracredit poem, How Doth the Little Crocodile by Lewis Carroll and I'm Nobodyby Emily Dickinson.

    Students will be introduced to the Table Top Paragraph and how to make their own through theclass creating one.

    Students will create their own paragraph, following the Table Top Paragraph template.

    Assignment-

    Students will read from a book for AR for the first ten minutes of class, to

    Introduction to the Table Top Paragraph. The class creates a paragraph as an example: using atopic chosen from the class, students will write, as a class, an example paragraph. Then, studentswill take Table Top Paragraph organizer and write a paragraph of their own, on a topic thatinterests them, that is school appropriate, and can be used to write a five paragraph essay.

    Personal Table Top Paragraph Two assigned, due tomorrow.

    Read a book for at least 20-30 minutes each night!
