EXCAVATORS
Walking Draglines
They are used in open pit mining (coal, shale, ferrous and nonferrous metal ores, gold, raw
materials for chemical industry and refractories, etc.).
The draglines are designed for stripping overburden with direct dumping the waste either
into the mined-out space or to the pit side.
When mining rocky material partial or whole blast-loosening is demanded.
The simplicity of erection, maintenance, repairs, reliability of the equipment in operation,
increased availability, high maneuverability, wide technological possibilities allow to use our
machines with high efficiency.
Walking draglines operate reliably in the temperature range from minus 50 to plus 45° C.
We offer our Customers 11 types of walking draglines with bucket capacity from 11 up3
to 40 m and boom length from 75 to 130 m, including six types of draglines with decreased
ground pressure.

The high performance of walking draglines is achieved due to the following specific technical features:
the boom is a triangular three-dimensional construction made of tubular elements. The top dragline boom chord is preliminarily compressed with a force, exceeding the tension caused by the working loads. This increases the fatigue strength of the structure, its reliability and service life;
the base and revolving frame consist of segments connected by high-strength bolts, this decreases erection costs and time;
the hydraulic walking mechanism provides smooth moving and high maneuverability of the machine. Depending on the model the walking mechanism may be made with two or four walking shoes;
the smallest dragline model has a mechanical four-link crank driven walking mechanism with d.c. electric drive;
the swinging mechanism may be equipped with a different number of planetary or conventional gear cases;
large dragline models have gearless drive of swinging mechanism with 4, 6 or 8 low-speed electric motors;
roller circle with tapered rollers and forged rails;
two operator’s cabs enable control either from the left or the right side depending on particular conditions in the pit-face. The cabs are designed in compliance with the latest requirements of ergonomic standards and are comfortable to work in;
automatic lubrication system ensures durability of the dragline mechanisms and units with minimum power loss for friction and provides for saving of lubricants;
the main mechanisms are driven by a.c. electric motors powered. The control system i s based on the use o f semiconductor elements;
the information and diagnostic system created on the microprocessor base allows to monitor the dragline output, electric power consumption, setting parameters, loading and ventilation of electric machines, temperature of bearings and field windings;
the electric machines and control systems have been designed specifically for the operation conditions of draglines.

Crawler-mounted draglines – are mobile machines created on the basis of the existing rope shovels EKG-5А and EKG-12A.
They are designed for mining mineral resources and overburden rock with direct dumping the waste into the mined-out space or loading onto transport facilities. On the Customer’s request the dragline may be equipped with buckets of different types and fit to the specific operation conditions.
Crawler-mounted draglines may be used in any small quarry for extraction of soft materials (clay, sand, marl), for stripping overburden, for opencast extraction of coal and construction
materials, for mining gold from gravel deposits, as well as for digging ditches, construction of channels and dams, slag processing.
the main bearing structures – boom, revolving frame and base frame – are made of rolled alloy steel, ensuring the reliable operation of the machine all the year round;
mechanisms are manufactured of high-alloy steels thus ensuring trouble- free operation under high dynamic loads;
bucket geometry assures improved filling and emptying of the bucket. The bucket elements – lip and teeth – are made of manganese steel, ensuring the wear resistance and ncreasing the operation time;
oscillating fairlead sheaves and boom point sheaves prevent rope run-off and wear;
d.c. electric drive (GM system) with transistor excitation of the electric machines and digital control system;
individual electric drives of the main mechanisms increase the operation time of the equipment and facilitate the control;
ventilated electric drive allows continuous operation of the walking mechanism;
the operator’s cab conforms to the ergonomic requirements. Being situated apart from the machinery house, it ensures high noise insulation, complete visibility of fairlead and boom point sheave as well as excellent working pit-face visibility.

The crawler-mounted mining shovels are designed for mining and loading rock in transport
facilities in open mines, for dumping, loading operations in ore storage yards and for use in
mines with in-pit crushing technology. Modifications of the basemodels allow adapting our
machines for any technology.
Depending on the mined rock category, mining is carried out with or without preliminary
blasting. Our shovels are manufactured for operation in various climatic conditions. All
mechanisms of the shovels represent separate units. This allows repairing of complete units.

The crawler-mounted mining shovel EKG-5A is a basic model, embodying the designing and
service experience accumulated for many years. EKG-5A is the smallest model in the range
and nonetheless a widely used machine.
The shovel with elongated front-end equipment, is designed for mining higher pit-faces,
may load trucks with 40-90 t capacity.
Shovels EKG-5A and modifications are supplied to the Customers as large assembled units,
what ensures their easy erection on the site.
A number of modifications being now successfully operated, have been created on the
basis of EKG-5A, wellknown to our Customers as a reliable and high-productive machine:

Shovels with Rack Crowd
Shovel EKG-20 – is a basic model remarkable for its high technical parameters, wide technological capabilities and operation reliability and meets the sternest Customer’s requirements.
rack-and-pinion crowd with doubleleg dipper handle and welded boxshaped boom ensure successful operation in heavy rocky benches or in poorly blasted rocks;
direct rope hoist with automatic equalizing of efforts in both rope strings;
dipper, welded of heavy castings, with self-tightened wedge fixed teeth. The free suspended dipper door has widely extended hinges to exclude shocks against the boom;
the shovels are equipped with the boom hoist winch to facilitate the erection and repairs;
the filtered air ventilation units ensure clean air supply and create a positive pressure in the machinery house;
the shoe brakes of the main mechanisms are air released;
double crawler undercarriage with open large rollers and individual drive for each crawler, easy accessible for maintenance and repair. The tumbler sprockets with replaceable teeth are arranged above the ground level and do not bear the support forces. The crawlers are tensioned with built-in hydraulic cylinders. The propel motors are forced air-cooled;
the main bearing structures are manufactured of alloy steel, the boom and dipper handle of highstrength steel;
t h e s h o v e l s a r e equipped with cable reel with at least 300 m cable reeling capacity;
the main mechanisms of t h e s h o v e l h a v e individual adjustable d.c. drives and digital control system;
automatic lubrication system minimizes the e x p e n s e s f o r maintenance during operation.
